Water Quality Of Water Pollution
The purpose of the succeeding article is to weigh the opinions of two different sources concerning
the topic of water pollution. Many people neglect the water issue due to the fact that it does not
necessarily pertain to them. However, there are several complications that should definitely be
brought to awareness among the public. This article uses two sources to explain why and how the
activities of humans contributes to the poisoning of the world s water supply, and how the articles use
argumentative such as ethos, logos, and pathos to justify and compare their position. A

explaining how contaminated water can cause several different diseases and problematic

ACCURATE AND FEASIBLE SCHEDULES. THIS DOCUMENT ADDRESSES WHAT SHOULD
BE CONSIDERED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NETWORK DIAGRAM, HOW NETWORK
DIAGRAMS ARE CREATED, AND HOW THEY MAY BE ANALYZED TO IDENTIFY
NECESSARY CORRECTIVE ACTIONS AND ENSURE OPTIMAL SCHEDULE DEFINITION.

The network diagram should be recreated after resource leveling to assess the updated critical path.
What If Scenario Analysis This analysis examines the schedule impact of various scenarios, such as
the delayed delivery of a major deliverable. What if scenario analysis may include simulation that
calculates multiple project durations with different sets of activity assumptions. Multiple network
diagrams may be generated to visually convey the impact of varying scenarios. Project managers can
use the results of this analysis to determine schedule feasibility under adverse conditions and prepare
relevant contingency plans. Schedule Compression Techniques: As a result of network diagram
analysis, project teams may identify a need to compress the schedule. Schedule compression shortens
the project schedule in order to meet schedule deadlines without reducing the project scope. Schedule
compression techniques include crashing and fast tracking. If utilized, project teams should recreate
and reassess the network diagram to ensure that no new schedule issues have emerged. Crashing
Crashing involves either adding resources or increasing work hours (overtime, weekends) to shorten
task duration. Shorter task durations typically result in higher task costs, so project teams must
determine, prior to crashing, whether the total costs savings is enough to justify
Explain Why Cardinal Richelieu Was The Regent Of Louis Xiii
Cardinal Richelieu was the regent for Louis XII. A regent is someone who acts for the king until
they are ready to rule. Although, he was a Catholic priest, Richelieu s first loyalty was towards the
crown of France. As the regent of Louis, he had many goals to secularize the country. His goals
were to rid the king of domestic enemies and make France the dominant player in European power
politics.
Cardinal Richelieu s first goal was to secure the king from his domestic enemies which were the
Huguenots and the Nobility. He achieved his goal by decreasing their power. To start off, he took
actions towards the Huguenots. Richelieu s belief was that Protestantism often served as an excuse
for political conspiracies against the Catholic king. This

Minimum Wage Is A Issue
Minimum wage is a contentious issue only because it is debated by a vast and eclectic audience that
cares for the heart of the matter. Minimum wage is at the source of the economist s main interest; in
pursuit of discovering its connection to job loss. Countries all around the globe, maintain minimum
wage laws without any noticeable fluctuation. For this reason, it is coming to an apparent
importance to policy makers everywhere. Those that tend to earn a minimum wageare mainly coming
from low income and minority families. The minimum wage has attracted attention from social
activists all over as well. The topic is perhaps most intriguing to the average, normal class
American. At some time in our long but short lives, almost every single person has been paid at
the minimum wage. Due to this, it is of popular debate over dinner, at restaurants, and in the
typical American living room. More importantly it s now being, and sort of always has been
discussed by those of our government. The United States of the 1990 s is a country of increasing
disparity and poverty; where the wealthy are moving ahead while at the same time the working
class falls even further behind. In this economic phenomenon, the middle class virtually is
disappearing from society. One of our many major defenses to make sure those of the working
class is receiving a fair wage, is legislation providing for the one. While several oppositions of the
minimum wage cite labor supply and demand concerns with a
Rhetorical Analysis Of President Roosevelt s The Four...
Breaking Neutrality
President Roosevelt addressed in his speech The Four Freedoms that all previous wars have not
affected the safety of our nation besides the Maximilian in Mexico. Dangerous world powers are
seeking to establish themselves in the western hemisphere of the United States. Having said this, the
President believes to better the safety and future of the country, we must involve ourselves in these
events beyond the borders of the United States. In order to maintain enough worldly power,
involvement in other continents is necessary so that the other continents are not conquered and
used against the United States with their power exceeding one s own. He then directs the speech
around making plans and achieving goals. His justification towards lending thousands of hours of
labor to make supplies for war allowed the United States to prepare itself a defense in case dictators
attacked. Finishing off his speech, Roosevelt made clear that citizens ought to have their unalienable
rights such as the four freedoms he mentions. After addressing the current state of America,
President Roosevelt s only option was to break the isolationist trend in order to revive the economy
to produce an improved life for the American people.
The President s tone, while calm and collected throughout the beginning of his speech The Four
Freedoms, alarmed the country. He introduces urgency with a bold statement saying, No realistic
American can expect from a dictator s peace
John Donne Allusions
In the poem, Hymn to God My God in My Sickness, John Donne employs the use of biblical
allusions and metaphors to express that suffering in life is trivial to the splendors that will be
awarded in heaven. To begin, the speaker lets on that he knows that he is dying; in a situation
where others might struggle with the realization, the speaker positively employs, I shall be made
thy music; as I come/I tune the instrument here at the door. As the speaker compares his amending
to refining an instrument, visibly any worries possibly holding the speaker back from eternal peace
are being taken care of before his death, leaving him appeased and ready to move on. Furthermore,
just as west and east are inevitably connected in flat maps, which the
Cognitive Development of Adult Learners
Cognitive Development of Adult Learners

Sheri

Adult learning is often looked upon as being a separate entity in the education system, an educational
process that has little to do with prior experiences and makes little connection to the learning that has
taken place in childhood and adolescence, when it fact it is though those experiences that have
shaped and molded the adult into the adult that they become (Brookfield and Tuinjman, 1995).
Andragogy, which is defined as the science of helping adults learn, has taken on a broader meaning
and included not only curriculum based education, but also experience and learner centered
education (Titmus 1981). Today, we know different. There is a plethora of research devoted to...

Adults will use what they have experienced though their culture to create meaning and reflect on
learning. Cross culture learning seeks to broaden the adult perspective. This is similar to distance
learning, which seeks to support the adult learner through the use of technology, while still providing
the learner with the opportunity to broaden their experience and continue on a path of education
development. Practical theorizing seeks to make learners and educators become critically aware of
the informally developed theories that guide their practice, including dilemmas, tensions of any sort,
and successes. Adult education is a continuous learning process, not only for the adult learner for
those who which to provide guidance in the field. Continuously, there are trends and theories about
the cognitive development of adults and how adults learn best, however; it now most beneficial that
we encourage adult to draw on their personally experience to make that learning meaningful.

Douglas Haig s Great Contribution to World War I Essays
Douglas Haig (1861 1928) was one of the most renowned soldiers during World War I. He became
the Commander in Chief of the British Expeditionary Forces and led very decisive battles at the
Battles of Some and Passchendaele. He also was able to stop the Germans last offensive (March
July 1918) which ultimately led him to create a veteran s facility called the Royal British Legion.
This caused him to be elected to be an earl in 1919. Douglas Haig became Commander in Chief of
British Expeditionary Forces, led forces at the Battle of Some and Passchendaele, created the
Royals British Legion, and became an earl in 1919. Douglas Haig s previous war experiences made

The same results would also happen at the Battle of Passchendaele. July 31, 1917, when Haig
appointed an offensive minded general (Sir Hubert Gough) to command, and pressed him to plan
a decisive breakthrough, rather than a step by step advance.11 Again, this battle turn out to be a
technicality win for Great Britain, however, they faced high casualties. These efforts obviously
weakened Germany tremendously; however, the cost of lives was too high to really see any
progress in their efforts. Haig has been criticized by many people over the years due to his plans
that caused high casualties. The wartime Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, was one such critic.
He wrote that he sometimes wondered whether he should have resigned on more than one occasion
rather than permit Haig to continue with his strategy.12 In Haig s defense, he was forced to apply
pressure on France He had to push up his plans one month in advanced. That s plausible reasoning to
why his plans may have had some
The Effects Of Failure And Gender On Attribution Style
The Effects of Failure and Gender on Attribution Style Lancelot J. Hunt Yale University Abstract
Locus of control is defined by whether people make internal or external attributions for occurrences.
The self enhancement theory explained by Mahajan (2010) elucidates the adaptive value of an
external locus of control after failure. Studies have suggested that men develop an internal locus of
control and women develop an external locus of control (Kulas, 1996). This study tested the
hypothesis that women have a more external locus of control than men and that failure causes an
external locus of control in men, but not in women. In this study, participants took a word

Loci of control have copious consequences on health and well being. Rotter (1966) explains that
having an internal locus of control is adaptive because it makes people feel in command of their
destiny which increases motivation and enhances social relations. The findings of Epstein and
colleagues (1971) expose a possible paradox, suggesting that it is beneficial to have an external
locus of control after failure. This paradox is explained by the self enhancement theory. The self
enhancement theory suggests that success has the ability to enhance self esteem and failure has the
ability to destroy self esteem, but only if people perceive themselves responsible for their outcomes
(Mahajan, 2010). This suggests that success should evoke more internal attributions and failure
should evoke more external attributions. This study investigates the effects of receiving a failing
grade and gender on locus of control. In this study, Participants were randomly assigned to receive
a failing score or a successful score on a word association test before taking an external locus of
control test to measure levels of external attribution (Queendom n.d.). It is hypothesized that women
will score higher on the external locus of control test. It is also hypothesized that receiving a failing
grade will cause external attributions in men, but not in women. Sherman (1997) explains that
women have a more external locus

New Orleans
New Orleans is a city in southern Louisiana, located on the Mississippi River. Most of the city is
situated on the east bank, between the river and Lake Pontchartrain to the north. Because it was built
on a great turn of the river, it is known as the Crescent City.
New Orleans was founded in 1718 by Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, sieur de Bienville, and named for
the regent of France, Philippe II, duc d Orleans. It remained a French colony until 1763, when it was

Many free women of color were highly skilled seamstresses, hairdressers, and cooks while some
owned property and kept boarding houses. Some of them were planters before and after the Civil
War and owned slaves. Although shocking and incomprehensible to many people today, the fact that
some free people of color owned slaves must come to light.

Discrimination
While financial prosperity was common, discrimination was also. Although business was performed
between whites and Creoles of color in public houses, they did not socialize outside of business
arrangements. Striking of a white person by a free person of color could mean arrest. Free people of
color could not vote, no matter how white they may have looked. Women by law were forced to
cover their hair with a scarf in the early part of the 19the century. Being clever, they soon sported
sophisticated headgear complete with feather and jewels. Opera and theatre going was a favorite
pastime of both white and the gens de couleur, although they were not seated together.

Placage
American immigrants found them to be quite exotic, for the black Creoles were Catholic, French or
Creole speakers, and accustomed to an entirely different lifestyle.
Placage was an arrangement between a free woman of color and a white protector . As it was
illegal for a woman of color to marry a white man. The arrangements benefited both parties involved.
