My Poem Poetry
In regards to discussing my experience in high school, I tend to keep quiet about it primarily
because of the lack of memories I have about it. However, I will say that out of all the lessons that
I learned in high school; in regards to concepts like time management and with meeting deadlines,
there has always been this one lesson that has stuck with me. Consequently, while it s a skill that I
don t use all that often, it s used to great effect. I ve used it to write stories about those who have
protested about civil rights and about the right of racial equality. It might not be this big important
life lesson to most, but to me, learning to write in the imagist style of poetryhas managed to grant me
this ability to tell stories visually without the use of images themselves.
Now, before we can discuss what imagist poetry is, we first have to figure out what a traditional
poem consists of. Traditional poetry itself tends to be more about the rhythm and rhymes in a poem
while also describing what s happening or what something is in each rhyme. The rhythm of a poem
having an emphasis on both stressed and unstressed syllables in each word. For example, you can
take a word like water, which has one stressed syllable, and then pair it with another word with the
same kind of syllable. Since the word we want to rhyme is water, we can then pair it with another
word like hotter. We could even go so far as to describe what happened to the water, for instance,
This cup of water,
Gattac A Futuristic And Dystopian Society
Dystopia is defined as a futuristic, imaginary universe in which oppressive societal control and the
illusion of a perfect society are maintained through corporate, bureaucratic, technological, moral or
totalitarian control. Dystopias, though an exaggerated worst case scenario, making a critical and
current trend, societal norm, or political system. The films I have chosen to analyze Snowpiercer
directed by Joon Ho Bong, Gattacadirected by Andrew Niccol both are movies that show this genre
of a futuristic and dystopian society. Snowpiercer and Gattaca show conventions that convey this
genre through a dystopian protagonist who standing up against a higher power, restrictions upon
freedom and inequality(discrimination) in Gattaca the protagonist Vincent stands up to the labels of
valids and invalids and the discrimination between the two labels in order to achieve his dreams, even
though he commits identity fraud. Whereas others conforms to; their DNAas a way to live their lives.
In Snowpiercer The movie takes place aboard the globe spanning Snowpiercer train which holds the
last remnants of humanity after an attempt at climate engineering in order to stop global warming
has unintentionally created a new ice age. Curtis Everett a member of the lower class passengers
who have been place in the tail section, leads a revolution against the elites in the front of the train in
order to get control.

Long Day s Journey Into Night Character Analysis
In the play Long Day s Journey into Night , each character is faced with many drastic challenges.
These challenges aren t only with themselves, but with other members of their family. They share
blame and judgement to themselves and others, dwell on their pasts, struggle to handle their
addictions, and also their own personal sufferings. The oddities such as these makes one wonder how
hard it must be to struggle without even the helpof your own family.
No one seems to be able to accept their own faults and in turn blame everything on someone else
whenever they find the chance to. Mary, the boy s mother, is a morphine addict and blames her
loneliness on her husband, Tyrone, who she claims refuses to buy her nice things and creates a
terrible living arrangement for her and her family. For example in the play, she says, In a real
home one is never lonely. You forget I know from experience what a home is like. I gave up one
to marry you my father s home. She insists how unhappy she is and how he constantly chooses
working on new properties instead of using the money to actually make her happy for once. Mary
is forever lonely and blames Tyrone for it since he s constantly leaving her to go to barrooms. Jamie
even blames Tyrone for being cheap when it comes to Edmund needing help from a doctor. He
claims how he uses a doctor who he gives a talk about getting the cheapest option, never the most
effective option. Jamie says, Well, for God s sake, pick out a good place and
For All Victims by Antjie Krog
In her poem For All Voices, For All Victims, Antjie Krog expresses her conflicted feelings towards
the past in general and the hearings of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in
particular. The TRC was created by the newly elected Democratic Party to look at the details of the
human violations that took place during the Apartheid era. The TRC did not only focus on the
people who were violated during the Apartheid era but also looked at the people who designed,
encourage and practice the Apartheid. The chairperson of the TRC was Archbishop Desmond Tutu,
and it had three different committees aimed at hearing the testimonies from the victims, granting
amnesty to perpetrators and suggesting reparations. In the poem both victims and perpetrators share
their stories about violence suffering, oppression and it also highlights the changing countries. This
essay is going to critical analyse the poem discussing how the hearing of the Truth and Reconciliation
Commission(TRC) provided South Africawith an opportunity to redefine their relationship to the
past and to locate their place in the future. Firstly, this essay is going to discuss the speaker s attitude
towards the formation of the new South Africaand how the form of address has a relation on the
speaker s feelings. Secondly this essay is going to discuss the way in which the country is imagined
plays a significant role in giving the South Africans with an opportunity to redefine their relationship
to the past and

Still no answer. That s when I saw both of them crying not the temper tantrum cry, but the I can t
believe this cry, the one filled with sorrow and sadness.
Hey what s wrong? What happened? Who do I have to kill?
They just ignored me like I wasn t there. Like I was gone.

I eventually got annoyed and turned to face them that s when I noticed the pictures. About twenty

fell, bled, and screamed then she got up and just cried to Amalia again. I hurt her. My baby sister I

Essay about Graduate Studies in Aerospace Engineer
The aircraft had become my dream machine since the first day I started working on it. I choose to
become an aerospace engineer as I felt that the airplane can give wings to my dream of flying in air.
I was recruited by a company called Infosys Limited after completing my under graduation majoring
in Mechanical (Production) Engineering. My passion to understand aircraft design has motivated me
to work on design of various fuselage components during the course of my career. I was always
interested to know about how various components are sized and the math behind arriving at a
particular cross section, thickness etc. As a design engineer my responsibilities include design of
components based on stress analysis data, which is limited. I... Show more content on

My favourite subjects were Thermodynamics and Computer Aided Design and Modeling
(CADCAM), in which I had great interest to learn and experiment. During my four year course, I
participated in various technical festivals of Institution of Technology s (IIT s), which are the
premier institutions of my country, India. Participation in these festivals gave me a practical
understanding of my studies and exposure of the real world. The competitions I participated
involved business idea presentation, design event using CAD and building a step climbing robot.
These visits had a major impact on my approach towards problem solving and gave me the ability to
imagine and understand things faster and better.
At Infosys, I was trained professionally in CATIA before getting deployed in the project. I started
my career working as a design support engineer for Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, for their
regional jet program. During my five years of working, the program matured from preliminary
design phase to development phase, giving me an insight into the complete design and development
of the fuselage. I also had the opportunity to witness and contribute to the various design and
configuration changes during my tenure in the program. My experience in this program spans across
design of various components of mid fuselage such as skin, stringers, frames, stringer clips, fittings
How Did Mao Zedong Bring Any Benefit To Chinese Society
Did Mao s rule from 1949 until 1976 bring any benefit to Chinese society? The destruction
between 1949 and 1976 during Mao s rule does far outweigh the benefits to Chinese society but
the positive changes he made in his earlier years as Chairman also need to be taken into account.
Mao s intentions were always true but the way he carried out his plans is what caused the great
death and devastation. The blame however cannot be placed solely on Mao, as it was a
contribution of many people and events that lead china to its state in 1976. Many of Mao s earlier
decisions up until 1957 were wholly beneficial to China in creating a new society. The lives of
women enhanced greatly in 1950 when the new marriage law was passed, with equal rights and...

Deng Xiaoping lead Mao s Anti Rightist campaign so it is he, rather than Mao who is responsible
for those hardships and deaths. The Great Leap Forward 1958 61 was to achieve greater, faster,
better and more economic results but in the end it caused the greatest amount of damage to china
s greatest asset it s population. Its aim was to catch up with Britain in 15 years but instead it lead
to industrial failure, crop failures, famine and a marred truth. The introduction of communes
were used to accelerate production and as seen in Mao A life peasants didn t like the
militarisation of their lives, thus causing a division. Mao s ignorance in economy and steel
production was evident in both his completely wasted backyard furnaces, in which he aimed to
produce steel out of any metals and through the people s lack of incentive to work due to the iron
rice bowl, (guaranteed employment and wages). The population also tried to hide the truth from
Mao, first with exaggerated weights of food and commercial steel to impress Mao, and keeping the
famine a secret from Mao by acting in the streets and painting the trees stripped of their bark. It s
better to starve to death than beg or steal. Chinese culture was imbedded into them and they were
powerless to break the patterns of behaviour enforced
