Sharp)

Job Title: Construction Planning Engineer (Mechanical Works)

Petrofac & Amec SPIE, France has formed a joint venture to jointly execute the 1750km
Azarbaijan – Georgia – Turkey Crude Oil Pipeline Project promoted by British Petroleum. The
pipeline comprises 4 pumping stations and 33 block valve stations. Each pumping station has
facilities like turbine driven mainline oil pumps, power generators, pig launcher and receiver,
crude refining unit, etc. As Planning Engineer posted in Pumping Station 2 in Tetritskaro,
Georgia. Responsibilities include
* Analyse project requirements and prepare a schedule, which integrates constraints and
strategies for Procurement and Construction
* Prepare logic diagrams, in accordance with a Work Breakdown Structure, which form the
basis for detailed level schedule reporting and analysis. Issue detailed activity schedules and
expedite the return of schedule updating data
* Monitor progress against schedules, analyze deviations and recommend remedial actions
* Prepare agenda items for schedule review meetings
* Prepare and maintain progress curves in accordance with the Project Control Plan
* Co-ordinate, in conjunction with discipline engineers, a document level progress
measurement system and operate the performance measurement system
* Assist the Manager, Project Control in maintaining schedule related database and
administration of the Project Control group
* Identification of problems impacting project completion and formulation of remedial actions
in conjunction with other project team members
* Prepare look ahead schedules (3 weeks) as far as practical taking into account the amount of

The company's principal operations are Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation Installation
Works pertaining to Power, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Chemical and Industrial Plants. A brief
summary of my responsibilities as Project Control Engineer in the various projects handled are
given below

Responsibilities

* Preparation of project execution schedule, project cost control budget and project
implementation manual
* Prepare progress statements highlighting the critical areas, mile stone activities etc.
* Scheduling resources
* Maintain project records of cost data for all cost analysis, project cost report and cost
forecast
* Identify areas of budget concern and potential impact on project financial performance and
recommend remedial action
* Maintain project ledgers showing Work Breakdown Structure budget line items and
commitments, expenditures and forecasts
* Flags significant projected over-runs and under-runs and highlight any misuse or wastage of
resources
* Issues project cost reports that include forecast final costs and cash flow requirements and
total and period variances
* Change Order Management – follow-up with client for additional work
* Responsible for all sub-contracting works right from tendering stage to award of job to sub-
contractor
* Attend progress review meetings with client
* Coordinate with discipline engineers with respect to job progress and constraints
* Preparation of monthly progress report for the client
* Coordinate with the procurement department for procurement of permanent material
including approval of vendors
* Officiating as Site-in-Charge in the absence of the Construction Manager
* Preparation of Management Information Reports which includes progress report, cost control
budget report, cash flow statement & forecast, revenue bill register, manpower & construction
machinery deployment schedule, NCR register, etc.
* Raising of Monthly Progress Invoices
* Review and approval of all payments including sub-contractor invoices
* Verifies the subcontractors' and vendors requests for payments, including the required
supporting documents

Second Satellite Launch Station of the Indian Space Research Organization, Sriharikota, India.
Handled installation of equipment and piping for the Cryogenic, GSSF and utility systems under
turnkey contractor MECON Ltd.

2) Jan 2001 to Oct 2001: Project Coordinator / Planning Engineer


Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation Works for the onshore facilities of Ravva Satellite Gas
Development Project, Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh, India promoted by M/s Cairn Energy,
Australia with M/s Clough Offshore, Australia as the EPC contractor.
