Mental Disorders Research Paper
The Importance of Mental Disorders Throughout history, those with mental disorders have been
revered as deities for their unusual mindset, or have been viewed with revulsion and fear. Since the
founding of the United Nations in October of 1945, the concept of mental health and hygiene have
gained international acceptance. ( Mental Hygiene ) Acceptance is the key word. Though mental
disorders have become a more observed and better treated medical condition, the public has yet to
span the final gap of treating these patients as what they are, human beings. We need to increase our
understanding and alter our perception of mental disorders so we can move towards a supportive
society in which we are not afraid, but open and accepting. Becoming comfortable... Show more

Many types of disorders are accurately represented, rather than one side character that has a small
stint with depression. Of course the Mad Hatter shows signs of bipolar disorder and
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, but Alice herself shows signs of schizophrenia, dream anxiety
disorder, and psychosis. Other mental disorders such as narcissistic personality disorder,
perfectionism, and general anxiety disorder are represented. ( The Psychology Within Alice in
Wonderland ) Silver Linings Playbook is also another work that has been recognised as a
wonderful portrayal of mental disorders. Jennifer Lawrence, one of the leads and an Academy
Award winning Actress, stated, I don t think we re going to stop until we get rid of the stigma for
mental conditions...If you have asthma you take asthma medicine. If you have diabetes you take
diabetes medicine. But as soon as you have to take medication for your mind there s such a stigma
behind it. ( The Importance of Mental
The Decision Of Breastfeed For Mothers
The decision to breastfeed for mothers is complex and multifactorial (Pairman et al., 2015, p 803)
and will be influenced by social norms, self efficacy, knowledge and both social and professional
support (Rollins et al., 2016). Support can be delivered by various methods and is based on
interventions that diminish the complexities and challenges faced by breastfeedingmothers (Renfrew
et al., 2012). Although breastfeeding is partly instinctive behaviour, it still needs to be learned and
mothers need support, encouragement and adequate management to make breastfeeding a success
(Stables Rankin, 2010). This essay will aim to highlight the benefits and advantages of breastfeeding
for both mother and child, and examine the support that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Breastmilk provides a number of health advantages beginning at birth and continuing throughout a
child s life (Kainonen et al., 2012; Pairman et al., 2015; Stables Rankin, 2010). The longer a mother
breastfeeds, the more likely her child will get the health benefits of breastfeeding (Rollins et al.,
2016; Stables Rankin, 2010).
The immediate health, wellbeing and survival of babies is affected by breastfeeding and thus
impacts our public health system (Pairman et al., 2015). Risk of morbidity and mortality due to
infectious disease is lower among exclusively breastfed babies compared with partially breastfed
babies (Kramer Kakuman, 2012). If breastfed, about half of all diarrhoea episodes and a third of
respiratory infections would be avoided (Victora et al., 2016) thus protecting against hospital
admissions (Victora et al., 2016; UNICEF, 2005). Breast milk is also associated with a reduction in
asthma (Oddy, 2013; Victora et al., 2016), protection against otitis media (Victora et al., 2016), and
childhood lymphomas (Guise et al., 2005). Due to the presence of long chain polyunsaturated fatty
acids in breastmilk, studies have gathered that breastfeeding can also improve brain development,
growth and levels of intelligence quotient (Victora et al., 2016; Huffman et al., 2011). Additionally,
the prevalence of obesity
Write An Essay On Anonymous
Anonymous is best described as a group of hacktivists. This group has no leader and acts completely
on their own. They started with getting involved in conflicts that affected the people . The people
refers to any one that is not part of any government due to the fact that anonymous doesn t want to
answer to the man. Anonymous was originally feared by many of people. One article states Many
early Anonymous raids were nothing more than the distributed cyber stalking of young women until
they fled the Internet(Chen). At first anonymous just wanted to reign terror and harass people for
their own amusement. Along came the church of scientology (CoS) incident in which the church of
scientology took legal action to get tom cruise to take... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these things have caught our eye. With the leakage of your latest propaganda video into
mainstream circulation, the extent of your malign influence over those who have come to trust you
as leaders has been made clear to us. Anonymous has therefore decided that your organization
should be destroyed, for the good of your followers, for the good of mankind, and for our own
enjoyment. We shall proceed to expel you from the Internet and systematically dismantle the Church
of Scientology in its present form. Later on down the road Anonymous became involved in the
Ferguson shooting. Their reason for being involved was because they wanted justice for Brown and
his family. Anonymous warned anyone involved in harming any of the protestors, and the warning
is as follows:
We will document trace and release the personal information on every single member of the
Ferguson Police Department, as well as any other jurisdiction that participates in the abuse. We will
seize all your databases and e mail spools and dump them on the Internet. This is your only warning.
Anonymous showed that they had switched from terrorizing the people to actually supporting the
people and backing them
Examples Of Classical And Operant Conditioning
Using different method, strategies and conditions in teaching has become very often and vital
because of its benefits and easiness. Behaviorism is also a condition that a lot of teachers use while
teaching. Behaviorism is the observing and studying of the external behavior of a living being, and
behavior is the response of an organism to a stimuli. Under behaviorism, there will be may other
ways that could be used in teaching. And in this essay I will be talking about Classical and Operant
conditioning. In Classical conditioning learning something come by involuntary actions that will
have an impact on the things that happens before the stimuli is released. In this, first an
unconditional stimulus will be produced and then this stimulus will produces a response which is
known... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also an effective way that a teacher could apply to change the student s behavior for good.
(Anandamahto , 2015) Punishment come is two, punishment by application (adding) and
punishment by the removal of something pleasurable. The example I mentioned above is an
example of punishment by removal. Punishment by application, which is the response when
something unpleasable is added for example making the students write the answers repeatedly
when they got some questions wrong from an exam. This way the students would try their best to
score good grades in exam to avoid writing something repeatedly for like fifty times. But in my
opinion, it is much better to use verbal reinforce on students because it will really motivate the
student when they are praised a lot and the students who hears the praises would want to be praised
and try their best to achieve a certain goal. Opposite of that, a
Why I Am An Effective Facilitator, And Compliment My Partner
October Reflection Up to this point in the course, there has been plenty of information to take in.
Course material has been changed multiple times, and getting used to the similarities and differences
in partners has been challenging. Presentation skills have also needed to be emphasized in order to
be an effective facilitator, and compliment my partner in the best way possible. Discussed below
are the obstacles in which I believe have come up throughout the semester that should be addressed,
as well as ways in which I have attempted to overcome those obstacles. The difficulty that I have
dealt with in this course is not necessarily concerned with presentation or knowledge of the material,
but rather the organization and miscommunication that comes along with it. I understand that from
the start there has been plenty of barriers that we had to push through, both as students and the
professor, but nonetheless it hindered our ability to really take off on our own. Each time I
attempted to sit down and learn the course material, it would change all of a sudden. Not in terms
of the material itself, but the way in which both the TAs and the professor wanted it to be
facilitated. This raises the second issue, and the one I found the most challenging. The
miscommunication between the TAs themselves, as well as the professor, and having Caroline and
Bobby s presentation to top it all off. I felt that nobody was on the same page in terms of how they
wanted parts of the
Analysis Of The Book The Book Of Titus
Paul is the author of the book of Titus. The book of Titus was written around the years 63 65 A.D.
The letter was addressed to Titus who was a gentile and a companion of Paul. Paul called Titus his
True son . Titus along with First and Second Timothy are called Pastoral Epistles. The reason for
being categorized that way is because the letters emphasizes the reason for having leaders within the
church. (Votaw, Clyde W. pg.130 38) The book s theme is instructions to Titus on how to run the
churches in Creteand to encourage Titus in faith. The first readers of this letter would be Titus,
some of the leaders within the Crete churches, Zenas and Apollos who Paul gave the letter to give

(Bright, Hilda, and Helen Pocock.) The Minoans were the first advanced society in Europe s
history. The Minoans were found throughout mainland Greece and throughout the Mediterranean
Sea and the island of Crete. Around the year 6500 the Cretans were documented in hunting,
fishing, and engaged in pagan worship. In the year 3000 B.C. and the years following,
immigrants from Northern Africa came to Crete. They were skilled in Bronze making. This
would soon lead to the Bronze Age and the Greek empire would grow and become more powerful.
In the years after 2000 B.C. is when most of the palaces and the other artifacts that are still visible
today were made. (Kyriakopoulos, Victoria. pg. 23 24)
During the time that Paul and Titus were there, the Cretans were at a deplorable moral level.
They were dishonest, gluttonous, and lazy. Titus had to overcome their way of life and preach
the Gospel to them. Some of the offices that were within the church were not being taken
seriously, so, Paul listed certain attributes that an elder must possess. The modern day bishop
most likely would be comparable to a deacon in some protestant churches and a bishop in the
Catholic Church. (Votaw, Clyde W. pg. 130 38) The role of an elder in this day in time would
have to be hospitable and friendly. During this age and time, Inns were dirty and unkept. If you
were a traveler you would want someone of offer you a place to stay.

Let us try to see things from their better side:

In 1853, Alphonse Karr wrote this in his book, Lettres écrites de mon jardin ( Letters written from

Re educating Criminals Using Community Services Before Reintroducing To Society Vs. Lengthy
Jail Terms A criminal is one who has committed a crime or illegal act. People are not born as
criminals. However, people are often made criminals because of situations or circumstances. Many
think that lengthy jail time is deserving while others believe that criminals be rehabilitated. (http:/
/www.writingacademia.com/) There has been much discussion since the 1970 s about treatment
programs that work and to what extent. No single type treatment or rehabilitation program works for
every offender. Treatment programs depend on the program, the family, church, and community
support. (http://urch.com/forums/) First time offenders whose consequences are not fatal may
benefit from rehab or re education. They may benefit from treatment programs that will allow them a
second chance to live a better life. The right punishment for criminals must consider many factors
before deciding. To ensure the security of our society, placing greater emphasis on rehabilitating
prisoners may be the best way to gain this. (http://englishbaby.com) Rehabilitation may help reduce
drug trafficking, prostitution, and substance abuse. These are the easier type of crimes. Some other
crimes take longer to correct and rehab may not be used as a corrective measure. Such crimes as
murder, child molestation, and sexual assault, need longer jail sentencing. Rehabilitation is not an
Similarities Between Mesopotamia And Egyptian Civilization
Roots of Western civilization are found in the Middle East, which is Turkey, Palestine, and
Mesopotamia. In Greek Mesopotamia means the land between two rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates
in today s Iraq. Mesopotamia was a collection of assorted cultures who were bonded by their script,
their gods, and their attitude towards women. Mesopotamiais known as the cradle of civilization
because of the rise of the city as we recognize that entity today and the invention of writing. Egyptis
often referred to as the gift of the Nilebecause it is located in the largest and driest desert in the
world, the Sahara. Egypt had a peaceful and continuous development compared to other ancient
civilizations. Isolation kept foreign influences and ideas from distorting their cultural balance and
they were free from foreign invasion for most of their history. Egypt was a unified country with one
people, one language, and one religion. The Mesopotamian and the Egyptian civilization are very
similar yet different in their own ways.

The culture of Mesopotamia was one of droughts, floods, survival, and innovations. They had no
lasting stability or balance because invasions by other civilizations brought new ideas. There was
no structure or balance and they tended to go from one crisis to another. One the other hand, the
Egyptian civilization was very balanced and organized. The Maat was the will of the gods that
contained order, justice, and righteousness. It established a moral order and
