Early Sport Specialization
In the past 30 years, the direction of sports within the youth has drastically changed. In the past,
young athletes aimed to play in several sports. Now, athletes focus themselves in one single sport
and year round extensive training has been encouraged by most adults in a young athlete s life
whether they are a parent or a coach. Allowing the youth to participate in sports is frequently
considered a great way to develop leadership skills and an appreciation for individual and team
accomplishments (Sailor). Along with the rise of Sport Specialization, concerns pertaining to a
child s physical and psychological health have begun to increase as well. Early Sport Specialization
may lead to greater risks in a child s life such as injuries,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Elsbeth Vaino, 82% of the top professional athletes involved themselves in multiple
sports before they went pro (Vaino). Let s take Russell Wilson for example. Wilson played
football and baseball while he attended North Carolina State University. In his freshman year,
Wilson was the first quarterback to earn all ACC honors at North Carolina State University.
Wilson s passion to continue to play baseball caused conflict with coach Tom O Brien, head
football coach at North Carolina State University. Coach O Brien and Wilson came to a
disagreement due to Russell s decision to attend Spring training with the Rockies, a Major
League Baseball team, in 2011 after he was drafted by them in 2010. Wilson decided to transfer
to the University of Wisconsin Madison and continued his success. By Wilson s senior year, he
led his football team, the Badgers, to the Big 10 conference while setting a record within the
NCAA for his passing efficiency. In April 2012, Russell Wilson was drafted to the Seattle
Seahawks and has been setting records ever since he started playing. Wilson holds the record for
the most passing yards in a playoff game and is a top five NFL quarterback (Breitenbach). Not only
did Russell Wilson achieve amazing accomplishments in a span of 4 years, he has only experienced
one health complication which
Super Size Me Documentary
Over the years Obesity has become a big problem in america for many reasons. The number of
deaths obesity had caused is a very large number and will continue to rise. Luckily, the Super Size
Me documentary did a good job at explaining the risks of fast food and has brought me to realize
how important it is to to control the amount of fast foodyou eat. Watching this documentary I have
obtained lots of useful information and it definitely got my attention about the world wide problem
of Obesity.
The Super Size Me documentary was very informative and brought me to realize my own diet. It
also made me start to think about how I could possibly change to live a more healthy lifestyle. As
we all know living an obese lifestyle may cause life threatening problems such as heart attacks,
types of cancer, and more often than not you will have mobility issues and a possible need to be
hospitalized. Knowing this I ve decided fast food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In comparison to what was mentioned in the movie I personally don t exercise as much as I
should, but I also try not to eat out that much and cook healthier meals. However, since watching
the documentary it really stressed the point of exercising, and made me want to exercise more to
feel better mentally and physically. Super Size Me made me want to be a healthier person.
Although this documentary got the point eating fast food regularly is very unhealthy across I
thought it was a little ridiculous to go on a mcdonald s binge eating nothing but their food for a
whole month. I also thought it was a little unrealistic because not a lot of people only eat
Mcdonald s as their diet, there is always something else instead of that. However, it is still not okay
to eat poorly more often than not, but I did like how he really showed the long term effects caused
by eating that
Uncontrolled Profanity Study
Uncontrolled profanity is found in many neurolinguistics disorders, the most famous is Gilles de la
Tourette syndrome (GTS). GTS, which was first identified by Itard and Gilles de la Tourette in the
1800s, is a hyperkinetic motor speech disorder characterized by frequent involuntary tics, which are
sudden pattern like movements or sounds. Though it is lesser known than Tourette syndrome, aphasia
can also heavily feature profanity. Aphasia is a clinical language impairment resulting from damage
to the language centers of the brain, usually following a stroke, but it can also come on slowly from
a slow growing brain tumor. The exact specifics of a particular aphasia depend on the location and
severity of the damage. Aphasic individuals have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, through childhood and adolescent trial and error they tested words to see where the line
of appropriateness is drawn in certain social circles. Neuroscientists from Weill Medical College
of Cornell University explored the brain to understand how profanity reverberates inside the
complex wiring of humans minds using the neuroimaging technique PET (positron emission
tomography) scans. By 1999, they found the amygdala, which is responsible for processing
emotion and memory, was highly active when exposed to profanity, But because the amygdala is
also connected to the memory function part of the brain, duplication decreases the activity. If a
child grew up hearing people saying curse words around their friends, the possibility of curse
words shocking you in other social circles lowers. In particular, amygdala activity is correlated with
negative emotional associations. Stimulating the amygdala can cause panic attacks and aggressive
behaviors while destroying the amygdala causes unusual placidness or fearlessness Therefore; it
makes sense that the amygdala would be activated in association with unpleasant words such as
Profanity. The amygdala also makes several connections to memory and association centers in the
brain, which could also be responsible for the increased memory skills when subjects are presented

car accidents frequently injure their back. The location of the misalignment or injury typically
affects the symptoms experienced. Some symptoms commonly associated with a low back injury
include: muscle spasms; sciatica (a stabbing or sharp pain that originates in the low back, wraps
around the hip and moves down the buttock into the upper leg); areas in the low back that feel
sore when they are touched; as well as a dull, aching pain in the lower back. Neck Injuries
(Including Whiplash) Any type of collision can cause a neck injury; however, whiplash is
commonly associated with car accidents. A whiplash injury occurs when the head is flung back and
forth abruptly. This action can cause the muscles and ligaments supporting the head, and spine to
stretch or tear. Furthermore, this forceful movement can cause the vertebrae in the individual s neck
to become misplaced, which can decrease its range of motion. In addition, the soft, jellylike disc
located between the vertebrae may herniate or bulge. Should this happen, pressure may be placed on
the nerves and tissues surrounding the effected vertebrae and disc, leading to pain. The
Rene Descartes Third Meditation
In Descartes Third Meditation he finds proof of Gods existence. The Third Meditation isn t about
God, but is mainly about us because God is innate in us. Descartes argument that God exists clearly
states that since I have the idea of God already innate in my mind, he must be an infinite substance
with objective reality. An idea with Objective reality must be produced by something with the exact
same idea with formal reality. Therefore, the idea of Godis an infinite formal reality, and since
humans are only said to be a finite substance (mind/matter), there s no way the idea of an infinite
substance can come from a finite substance, in other words the idea of God cannot come from an
individual at all. This is because infinite substances are
Nefertiti Book Report
Nefertiti by Michelle Moran is an entertaining book about the famous Royal Wife of Akhenaten. The
novel is told from the point of view of Nefertiti s little sister, Mutnodjmet. It begins immediately
before Nefertiti is chosen to become Akhenaten s Chief Wife. The book follows Nefertiti and her
family throughout their life as the royal family in Memphis and then transitioning into the move to
Amarna. The story stops only after the death of Nefertitiand Meritaten and the crowning of
Tutankhamun as Pharaohof Egypt. Moran captures a Nefertiti that is ambitious, powerful, and
sometimes scared. Nefertiti is thrown into the royal family as a teenager and was told to try and
control the heretic Pharaoh, Akhenaten. At many times, the reader gets a glimpse of that worried
and terrified young girl, but throughout most of the novel, Nefertiti is portrayed to be a strong and
controlling Chief Wife of the Pharaoh. The author shows the fights between Nefertiti and her family
as she goes against what they want by supporting Akhenaten and his religious views. Moran tells
about everyone having to walk on eggshells so not to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The prevailing presence of the Hittites is constantly brought up in Nefertiti. Throughout the entire
book, Nefertiti s family and the army bring up their fear of the Hittites coming and invading Egypt.
When the royal family first moves from Thebes to Memphis there is a small mention of encroaching
war with the Hittites. Once the family is established in their new palace in Memphis, General
Horemheb tells Mutnodjmet that the Hittites are taking Egypt s land because Akhenaten had not
sent any army to stop them. The General warns the Pharaoh that he is focusing the army on building
when they should be out stopping the Hittites. He believed that it would not be long before the

Fundamental Analysis Ever hear someone say that a company has strong fundamentals ? The
phrase is so overused that it s become somewhat of a cliché. Any analyst can refer to a company s
fundamentals without actually saying anything meaningful. So here we define exactly what
fundamentals are, how and why they are analyzed, and why fundamental analysis is often a great
starting point to picking good companies. The Theory Doing basic fundamental valuation is quite
straightforward; all it takes is a little time and energy. The goal of analyzing a company s
fundamentals is to find a stock s intrinsic value, a fancy term for what you believe a stock is really
worth as opposed to the value at which it is being traded in the marketplace. If the intrinsic value is
more than the current share price, your analysis is showing that the stock is worth more than its
price and that it makes sense

Manzana Insurance (Fruitvale Branch)
Group 13:
ANALYSIS
INTRODUCTION
The Fruitvale branch of Manzana Insurance is facing stiff competition and is being severely
outperformed by Golden Gate casualty Insurance. On every measure of performance, Fruitvale
branch seems to be falling apart. Following are the problems faced by Fruitvale branch:
1)Turnaround Time (TAT) is too high
TAT, or the number of days between the receipt of a RUN and the issuance of a final policy, is an
important indicator of service quality used by originating agents to help customer choose an
insurance company. Fruitvale s average TAT of 6 days for processing a request far exceeded... Show

4.Policy writing does not include RAPs that don t convert to RUNs.
RECOMMENDATIONS
As we have seen, company policy is to tackle requests on a FIFO basis, but in practice RUNs and
RAPs were given a higher priority than RERUNs, and within each of these groups the requests
were processed on a FIFO basis. This is based on the assumption that renewals were less profitable
than new policy requests. But we see that a higher percentage commission is also paid to agents
for new policy (25%) compared to renewals (7%). In 1991, a new policy generated revenues of
6724, and a renewal generated revenues of 6205. Considering the impact of commissions, this
assumption is incorrect, and hence all requests should be treated with equal priority in the FIFO
order.
Additionally, only 15% of RAPs get converted to RUNs (at the rating stage), and hence it doesn t
make sense to give priority to RAPs for all the stages before rating. This also leads to the conclusion
that the perception of RUNs being more profitable to the company is not correct.
As of now RERUNs are released 1 day before the expiry date. Calculations using the mean time for
RERUNs at each station show that the actual TAT for RERUNs is 3.2 days currently. To avoid
policy expiration, we recommend that RERUNs should be released to the DCs 5 clear working
days before the policy expiration date (taking into account observed TAT
The Problem With National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Real Awareness of Pink Ribbon Month: A critique of Robin Hilmantel s The Problem with
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Even though breast cancer is an important issue in today
s society and there are different organizations and charities that raise money for breast cancer; the
pink ribbon is something that causes a variety of problems. In her article The Problem with National
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Robin Hilmantel makes an effective argument and uses pathos to
reach out to women by showing the perspective of a real person who was suffering from breast
cancer, as well as use symbolism to argue how the pink ribbon is being used in a misguided way.
However, she does not have a well developed thesis and her evidence does not present any citation or
where she got the information from which gives doubts on her credibility. Hilmantel begins her
article with a statement that catches the audience s attention and makes them think about the pink
ribbon movement that occurs every October; but she does not introduce her thesis until she
mentions her argument which is that there is a problem in how the pink ribbon is being represented
in the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She first starts with a story of a young woman
named Kate Petrides, who did not expect to ever have breast cancer at her age. Throughout the
article Hilmantel talks about how the awareness of breast cancer has had different responses to
people. Hilmantel says that different
Charles Character Analysis
Throughout the entire story, Laurie is constantly telling stories about a disruptive boy named
Charles. It seems like that Charles is a bad influence on Laurie as his behavior changes after starting
Kindergarten. Laurie s mother is excited to meet Charles mother at the scheduled PTA Meeting.
After talking with the teacher, Laurie s motherfound out that there is no such thing as a Charles.
Based on the last sentence of the story, the reader can infer that Laurie was actually Charles acting
disrespectful towards other. There are important story elements that contribute to the theme, One
must figure out who they are instead of pretending to be something that they are not. During the first
section of the story, it seems like that Laurie has
