Children At A Local Fitness Center
For my observations, I interviewed Penny who teaches gymnastics to children at a local fitness
center. She teaches classes every Friday and Saturday to children ranging from 2 14 years old. I
observed her multiple times and recorded 6 hours of observations. After talking to Penny Lane, I
found out she did gymnastics as a child at her local fitness center. She was a student for there for
about 8 years, while growing up. Then while she was in high schoolshe was asked to teach for
students at her fitness center. She enjoyed it so much that when she moved up to Bellingham, she
asked the fitness center in town if she could teach some lessons. At the time, no one was teaching
gymnastics and the fitness center said that she could teach. She was able to create her own lesson
plans and has been working at this location for 2 years. This is how she was able to get involved
with this type of work. She did mention a few struggles with the job such as the fitness center
does not have a lot of funding and that sometimes hinders the lessons and she explained that older
students tend to drop out and go somewhere else. When I asked her how she felt about her work
she said that it was easy and fun. She really enjoys working with kids and feels comfortable
teaching gymnastics. She wants to keep this job throughout her schooling because she wants to be
an elementary school teacher once she graduates from college. She doesn t make very much money
so, I would say based off of my observations
Glumania-Personal Narrative Essay
It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner. Josh, my grandfather yelled up the
stairs, it s for you. It s Jackie, and she sounds angry. As I came downstairs to pick up the phone, I
was not happy. I was tired and had looked forward to a nice quiet evening at home, not another
pointless police chase leading to me and Jackie being outran by some goons. Thirty minutes later,
however, Jackie s white Mustang skrted into our driveway, and Jackie was laying on the horn
before the car had come to a full stop. I scurried to get my shoes and jacket, then ran out the front
door with all the enthusiasm of a man going to chase after the largest cartelon planet Glumania.
Jackie was excited as always even after our continuous failures... Show more content on

I was surprised by myself to be completely truthful. Tom replied still chuckling since what he had
made our car into was hardly believable.
After leaving the shop I raced down the almost empty roadways in the middle of the night to meet
with Jackie back at our previous location in the field. The look on her face was priceless when she
saw me hover up next to her in the Mustang.
Hop in and let s go catch these guys. I yelled to Jackie.
She got in and had so many questions to ask which is as expected from her. We flew off in the
direction we last saw the space car speed off towards. There was no sight of where the car
possibly went, but we continued going farther and farther out into what appeared to be nowhere.
The cool calm air rushed through my hair as we continued or journey, it was silent except for the
noise of the humming engine. We decided to delay our pursuit since we had been up all night and
find a place to park the Mustang so we could get some sleep.
As I was drifting off into what would have been a peaceful sleep the roar of an engine in the
distance woke me up.
Headlights! I whispered as loudly as I could to
Ethical Teachings in Christianity and Islam Essay
There are several ethical teachings in Christianity and Islam that instruct Christians and Muslims on
how they should act in everyday life. These ethical teachings often require the members of each
religion to give generously to the welfare of those in need. This essay will prove that both Islam and
Christianity have ethical teachings that instruct people to give to the needy. This will be proved by
first defining what an ethical guideline or teaching is, by looking at the Islamic ethical guidelines
that instruct Muslims to help those in need and finally through analysing the Christian ethical
guidelines that teach Christians to contribute to the welfare of those in need.

Ethics is the explicit, philosophical reflection on moral beliefs ... Show more content on

Several Islamic guidelines instruct Muslims to give their wealth to those who don t have wealth
themselves. The most evident teaching is the third Pillar of Islam or Zakat. Zakat teaches that well
off Muslims must pay a welfare contribution for the needy. It is paid once a year based on a
person s cash savings, gold, silver and jewellery. Zakat often takes the form of a tax collected by a
government but in the eyes of the contributor it is not simply a tax to pay but holds spiritual
significance in that through paying Zakat Muslims try to gain Allah s favour. Zakat is clearly an
ethical guideline that teaches Muslims to help the poor and needy.

Another teaching is contained in the guidelines set out for Muslims to follow. The two relevant
guidelines are You should support the community of Muslims and Justice, compassion and
generosity are frequently given as qualities of a truly human life. These two ethical guidelines
require Muslims to support the poor and needy as if Muslims support the community through
financial support than they are upholding the first guideline and if Muslims are generous and give
money, besides Zakat to the poor and needy than they are upholding the second guideline. These
guidelines tie in with what the prophet Mohammed made very clear through several sermons and a
number of passages in the Qur an that there is a due above and over Zakat and that the
Gentlemen Of Rio En Medio Analysis
In the story of Gentlemen of Rio en Medio an old man had 8 acres of land that he wanted to sell to
somebody for a small amount but just the land not the trees in the farm. But little did he know that
he had double that amount which was 16 acres. The family that was buying the land wanted to pay
double for the 16 acres because he did not know but he did not let them do that. The familydid not
know that when you own your own land there are many responsibilities to it. When owning your
own land you must cut and keep it looking good so that people would want to buy the land. You
must nourish it to keep it looking fresh and new or the grass will die and then the animals that eat
the grass will die and the land will be considered as dead. You must also look for anything that
could possibly harm the value of the land or even harm the landowner. In the story the old man sells
the land to the family but there is a problem. The family bought the land but the neighborhood kids
are always coming onto the property and playing on and around the trees.... Show more content on

The Rwandan Genocide And Ethnic Conflict
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
1.0Introduction
The Rwandan genocide has been a topic of discussion and study by many scholars, researchers and
humanitarian bodies seeking to find the root cause of its happening. Some found out that
deterioration in the political climate was the possible cause. Others argued that the Hutu elite were
only safeguarding their political power from the Tutsis who had, under the colonial rule, oppressed
the Hutus. The genocide was seen to be the best platform for settling scores between the two ethnic
groups.
The purpose of the study is to find out whether the Rwandan genocide was as a result of ethnic
hostilities or other underlying reasons while focusing on its impact on the country s economic,
social, cultural as well as political spheres. It will also seek to fill the gap of knowledge on what
could be done to reduce the occurrence of such conflicts.
The African governments play a critical role in ensuring that policies are put in place to promote
cohesion among the different ethnic groups that constitute the nation. The role might not have been
well played hence the occurrence of the Rwanda genocide which was a massive blow on the African
country. Ethnic difference might occur but how the leaders deal with them paves way for either
peace of conflict. Leaders are the starting point, form the remarks they make during political rallies
to their postings on social media.
The international humanitarian bodies have a role to play in peacekeeping,
Brock Osweiler Research Paper
Almost four years into his career, Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler now has two starts
and two wins on his resume . Osweiler was the Broncos second round draft pick in the 2012 NFL
Draft, and is expected to be the future of the Broncos organization.

Peyton Manning will miss significant time due to a partially torn plantar fascia near his left heel.
The formerly known understudy of Manning, Osweiler has thrown for 250 and 270 yards in his two
wins. The most impressive win though, came on Sunday Night Football against the then undefeated
New England Patriots. But, how good is Brock Osweiler?

Osweiler appeared to be very clutch in the overtime win over the Patriots. Looking back at the 39
yard completion to Emmanuel Sanders on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On second and goal, Patriots safety Patrick Chung was flagged for holding Demaryius Thomas on
a play where Osweiler was sacked for a huge loss. If that flag wasn t thrown, the Broncos were
looking at 3rd and goal from the 19 yard line. Just like that the game could have been over. Instead,
due to the penalty it was first and goal on the 4 yard line.

Also, the inconsistent play of Broncos running back C.J. Anderson finally came to an end. This
season was expected to be a breakout year for him, and he hasn t met those expectations thus far.
Finally, he had the breakout game against the Patriots finishing with 113 yards, and 2 touchdown
performance. Anderson was the one who sealed the game in overtime with a 49 yard touchdown run.
One could argue that it was the running game that defeated the Patriots, not Osweiler.

Taking nothing from him, he at the very least doesn t turn the ball over. Only one interception is his
two starts. One of the biggest concerns many people have noticed with him is at times he holds on to
the ball a little longer than necessary in the pocket which causes him to get sacked more than he
should. Although, he improved that much more in the game against New England than he did
against the Chicago Bears the prior
British Isles Storms
Discuss the impacts of storm events in the British Isles and evaluate the responses to them (40 marks)
The British Isles has a Cool Temperate Western Maritime Climate which is owing to its location at
the edge of a continent, between two seas and subject to the influences of five major air masses;
north westerly, south westerly, northerly, easterly and southerly. British climate is classified as
temperate as it rarely features the extremes of heat or cold, rain, drought or wind that are common in
other climates. Basic characteristics of this climate include temperature, precipitation, wind and air
masses.
The mean summer temperatures in the UK are lower than the average for its latitude which is due to
the cooling influence from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
15 million trees were knocked down and trees blocked roads and railways. Power lines were taken
down and 5 million homes were left without electricity. Insurance claims were up to £2 billon and
so premiums increased for everyone the following year. The Met Office were criticised in the
immediate aftermath of this event as it failed to forecast the storm correctly which arguably led to
the death of many more people than necessary due to them sleeping through gale force 11 winds. In
the aftermath, however, a great deal of money and effort was put into a post storm clean up , yet
some thought that nature would ve been better left to re assert itself. For example, there was
unnecessary destruction of trees which, thought fallen, were still living and so could have been
recovered through nature. The Met Office learnt from their mistakes in this event and so a number
of recommendations were made. Observational coverage of the atmosphere over the ocean to the
south and the west of the UK were improved by increasing the quantity and quality of observations
from ships, aircrafts, buoys and satellites. Continued refinements were made to the computer models
used in forecasting and the training given to forecasters was improved. Substantially more warnings
will be put out in future in the event of a storm in an attempt to mitigate the effects for humans and
therefore the response to the 1987 depression resulted in some positive aspects for the future, yet the

Marine Debris
Issue Analysis: Marine Debris In an article written by Adam Vaughn for The Guardian, the issue
of marine debris is briefly addressed while a solution to the issue is analyzed. Marine debris can be
commonly known as plastics in the ocean, and Vaughn s article analyzes biodegradable plastics.
While this essay will not analyze biodegradable plastics, solutions to the issue are an important part
of creating a picture of the issue at hand. Marine debris, or plasticin the ocean, is an issue in
consequence to its negative environmental impact. It is not common for this negative environmental
impact to be argued against. It is more common for this negative environmental impact to be ignored
for the sake of human convenience. In one perspective... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More importantly both articles also focus on highlighting consumer awareness and alternatives to
plastics. Specifically, both McGlade and the authors of the academic article use context to
encourage consumers to think about plastic, it s necessity, and it s consequence. Another specific
point is that both articles use examples of how plastic impacts marine life. The article written by
Vaughn uses the example of jellyfish and how plastics allow them to broaden their range in the
ocean and affect the food chain of other marine life. The academic article uses the example of
marine life ingesting marine debris causing death within different species. Both of these examples
can serve as evidence to marine debris interfering with the biodiversity of the ocean. As jellyfish
disrupt the food chain the cycle of disrupted food source will continue down the chain as the issue
worsens. As marine life ingests plastics and die off marine food chains are affected even further. To
sum up, both articles use examples that analyze the issue of marine debris, and both articles turn to
the need for change that can solve the problem. Whether the change be technologies that have real
biodegradability or alternate human behaviour all the writers understand the steps that need to be
Modernization Of The Middle East
At the start of the 18th century, Middle Eastern countries witnessed their Eastern neighbors being
overtaken by Western Europe and were faced with a choice: to pick apart or to be picked apart. It
was from this dilemma that defensive developmentalism emerged in the Middle East. Empires such
as the Ottomans, Persia, Tunisia, and Egypt began the process of centralizing their authority in order
to assert effective control over their populations. The chief goal of defensive developmentalism for
these empires was to assert their autonomy, whether that be autonomy from the Ottomans in the case
of Egypt and Tunisia, or from outside imperialists in the Ottoman Empireand Persia. In order to
accomplish these goals, defensive developmentalists undertook extensive reforms to establish their
empires as relevant worldwide powers.
Defensive developmentalists adopted extensive reforms in order to accomplish their goal of
asserting their autonomy over outside forces. As the chief worry for these empires was outside
penetration, military restructuring became an essential aspect to their reform. A centralized,
organized military gave empires the ability to do the picking apart, or at the very least prevent from
being picked apart. These modern armies were built on the basis of population, which introduced the
policy of conscription to the Middle East. Coupled with military restructuring was bureaucratic
reform, or a shift from mediated to unmediated states. By centralizing their authority,
Examples Of 1920 s Unsolved Mysteries
Unsolved Mysteries When people think about the 1920 s they think about glamorous parties,
beautiful fashion, and the brilliant play Phantom of the Opera. They don t ever think about the
horrendous murders and kidnappings that were never solved. The 1920 s has so many crazy
stories that nobody really talks about because it was sandwiched between the Great Depression
and the Stock Market Crash. The 1920 s unsolved mysteries are kind of just like 2018 mysteries.

The Saga of the Tigua Indians Essay
The Saga of the Tigua Indians The Saga of the Tigua Indians is an amazing one. By all reasoning
they should have been wiped out long ago. There quiet defiance to change, however, has carried
them through. From the height of civilization to near extinction the Tigua have remained. They
endure imprisonment by the Spanish, oppression and manipulation by everyone that followed. This
is the story of a people thought to extinct, that are once again learning to survive.

Early histories of the Tigua Indians are conflicting and largely untrue. Since 1680 it had been
believed that the Tiguas were traitors to the Pueblo Nation, and had chose sides with the Spanish
during the Pueblo Revolt. Upon the Spanish retreat south it was believed that ... Show more content

With such a large presence of Spanish soldiers it would have been foolish for the Indians of Isleta
to resist them. After failed attempts to recapture lands lost to the north, Governor Otermin finally
decided to give up and proceeded south to greater safety of the Mission of Guadalupe at Juarez.
The Spanish were accompanied by a group of Indians from mixed tribes, including a few Tigua.
One in Juarez three camps for the Indians were established. Alvaro de Zualata was the first priest
of the Sacramento camp was located on the present day site of the Mission Church at Ysleta,
Texas. Ysleta, Texas, or Ysleta del Sur is the current location of the remaining Tigua Indians. Two
other camps were also formed; St. Pedro de Alcantarra and Seneca del Sur. The present Church of
Ysleta has an interesting record from this time stating that in addition to these camps set up by the
Spanish, a few Tigua try to found Ysleta del Sur in a nearby place.

In 1681 Otermin was determined to recapture the lost territories in New Mexico. He mounted an
expedition to the north and was successful in surprising the Pueblo of Isleta under the cover of
darkness. He was able to capture nearly all of the inhabitants. The Spanish continued to move north.
The Pueblo forces were successful again, however, in repulsing the Spanish. Thus forcing the
Spanish back south toward El Paso. As many as 100 Isleta Pueblo escaped from
The Voice Of Al Nadaha
Al Nadaha in Arabic literally means The Caller . She is said to be a stunningly beautiful woman
who appears by the shores of the Nile in the dark, she s described as tall and beautiful with long
dark hair flowing her back, she wears a long white or transparent dress. She has an alluring soft
voice that hypnotizes whoever she decides to call and make them unable to resist her charm so they
follow her to the river where they would meet their dreadful fate.
It s said that Al Nadaha only calls for men by their first name, her voice is soft but the call is still
loud and clear with sad melodic tone. A man who is called by Al Nadaha usually gets killed, and
his body would be found floating on the water the next day, while others disappear into ... Show

Those who encountered Al Nadaha and lived to tell the story says that once they heard her voice,
they covered their ears quickly and ran for their lives before they could take a glimpse of her or they
would have been dead meat.

Al Nadaha is one of the famous urban legends and mythologies in Egypt, but there are other
creatures in different folklores which are not significantly different from Al Nadaha.
Aisha Qandisha: She s a malicious cannibal water creature in the folklore of Morocco. Same as Al
Nadaha, she s described as a beautiful woman who lurks on the banks of the river waiting for any
lone man to lure, she then will reveal her true shape and consume him under the water.
La Llorona: Meaning the weeping woman in the Mexican folklore. She s witnessed roaming cities
or near riverbanks on moonlit nights, dressed in white, sometimes she s heard, not seen. Something
in her weeping and wailing terrifies, spooks and unnerves those who encounter her, she s also
described as being magnetically
