Superman Returns
Hot off the heels of two successful X Men films, Bryan Singer was given the Brass Ring , when
Warner Brothers offered him the directors chair to reintroduce Superman to modern movie
audiences. At the time it seemed like the right choice. Singers X Men films where loved by critics
and movie goers alike. The films were reminiscent in Richard Donners approach by remaining
faithful to the source and using practical effects rather than the cold or lifeless CGI approach which
was becoming the norm.
It looked like Superman would finally be done right and reclaim the crown as the world greatest

My Statement Of Purpose For Computer Engineering
...life can be much broder once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call
life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence
it. Once you learn that, you ll never be the same again.
When I heard these words by the late Steve Jobs in a video that was just 1 minute 42 seconds long,
it left a big impact and changed the way how I looked at the world. Following closely the rivalry
between the companies Microsoft and Apple and their growths, despite each other, has fascinated me
with the world of technology. The fact that the economy and employment opportunities in the tech
industry has beed substantially strong despite the weaker, broader economy, makes it even more

A recent survey showed that companies like Facebook and Google have just over 15% women
employees. Combining these figures with a Forbes forecast that there s going to be an increase in
computer science employment by 19% through 2020, I see a tremendous opportunity for women in
the realm of computer science. I also believe that this field will be grow faster if it can convince the
younger generation to be a part of it as they are the ones who spend most of the time using the
gadgets and new innovations. It s the younger generation that will indubitably bring disruptive
innovations and my long term goal is to educate and encourage an entire generation of ambitious
women to pursue education in computer
John David Rockefeller Standard Oil History
Standard Oil
Everyone knows who John D. Rockefeller is, but who are Maurice B. Clark, and Samuel
Andrews? They were the co owners of one of the biggest companies on the planet in the late 1800
s and early 1900 s. During 1863 these three men joined up in Cleveland, Ohio and started an oil
refining business. Rockefeller and his firm was operating the largest refineries in Cleveland, and
these and related facilities became the property of the new Standard Oil Company, incorporated in
Ohio in 1870. 1 During 1882 nine trustees signed the Standard Oil and Trust Agreement, to combine
companies into the Standard Oil Trust. By the agreement, companies could be purchased, created,

Rockefeller built an empire in a world without automobiles, finding profit by selling kerosene and
lamp oil. By the turn of the century, the internal combustion engine was generating demand for a
new product: gasoline. 4 In comes the Lone Star State, to solve the worlds energy problem Jan.
10, 1901, the modern American oil industry began on Spindletop Hill, south of Beaumont, Texas.
4 The big hill, located 4 miles south of Beaumont, Texas was formed millions of years ago with a
giant underground dome made of salt. A man named Anthony Lucas from Austria, a former salt
miner, was baffled at this big hill, which was actually only 12 feet high in elevation over the
prairie lands. Lucas contacted some Pennsylvania oilmen for some help. The Pennsylvanian s
travel to Texas, surveyed a nice spot on the hill, and on October 27, 1900 the gusher was spudded.
Spindletop had been drilled before, but never by a rotary drilling rig. Drilling is difficult at first.
There is little in the way of rock at the surface in that part of the world. Instead, oil wildcatters had
to drill through several hundred feet of sand, 5 Due to the high sand content the well continually
caved in, and one of the Pennsylvanians decided to try mud instead of water to help. This
advancement changed the game for drilling, and is still used to drill wells today. The Lucas
Gusher will erupt more than 150 feet into the air. It begins flowing at an astounding 100,000 barrels
per day from a depth of 1,010
Realist Views On Climate Change
Rough Draft Ideas
Through the last decades, climate change has sparked up a controversial issue not only in the US but
around the world. We have been told time and time again, what we, as people, are currently doing to
our planet has been demonstrated scientifically to be ruining our planet. However, beyond the facts,
and past the statistics, there s something that gives these scientific demonstrations meaning. This
happens to be the people of the world that these numbers fall behind. How do we work with and
counter these grueling numbers that diminishes the world? And more importantly, what is the
relationship between global climate change and international relations?

If we thought about climate change the same way we thought about murder there would be no
issue pertaining to this throughout the world (Bodansky, 1996). For nations allowing the
irresponsible and reckless actions towards our environment is murder. The reason why we have
laws against murder is because we are not allowing someone else the right to life, freedom and
pursuit of happiness (Habib, 2011). We are not giving our own planet a right to live, and our
planet was not created for our own benefit. We are guest on this planet and we should treat our
host with some respects and dignity. These laws can come into a form of taxation, and breaking
any of the treaties could result in a sanction around the country (Bodansky, 1996). For example,
nations that would normally expel detrimental amounts of Co2 in the atmosphere would be
discouraged by doing it because of the tax put in place (Bodansky, 1996). This would hopefully
revalue the ideals of the realists to look at the profit of the health of our planet outweighs what the

What Are The Key Triggers Of Violent Conflict In The...
This essay will address important question of what are key triggers of violent conflict in the
Middle East and Asia and how can the Intelligence Community (IC) improve its collection and
analytical efforts in regard to these issues? The challenge to this question is that there are way too
many trigger points to choose from, and the Middle East and Southwest Asia have recently been
violent places to begin with. However, with that being stated, I will list what I estimate as being the
top three key trigger points. One s first presumption is that it would be oil, but it is not. First and
foremost is the trigger of religious tensions and that of the Islamic Jihadist movements. This includes
the divide between Israel and Palestine, the Druse... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second trigger would be the impending shortage of water and how it will rapidly grow into a
major conflict. This is not an if, but a when it will occur. The third is the monitoring of the Joint
Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is the international agreement on the nuclear
program of Iran reached in Vienna on 14 July 2015 between Iran, the P5+1 and the European Union.
How the IC and analytical communities address these key trigger points is problematic. Just how can
the IC improve its collection and analytical efforts against the monitoring and analysis of the high
value targets related to ISIL movements? These movements are mainly individual human in nature,
so the most plausible collection that can be used is the employment of Human Intelligence
(HUMINT). This can be accomplished by covert or overt means. However, entry or recruitment in
these secular arenas has been, and continues to be extremely challenging. The
Genocide from the Jews in the Holocaust to the Mayans in...
Throughout world history, many manifestations occurred which led to horrific demeanors. In 1981,
Todd Strasser wrote a fictionalized novel known as The Wave, based on a real life event about an
experiment. This experiment, conducted in 1969 by Ron Jones in Palo Alto, California, proves how
effortlessly fascism can corrupt people. This experiment begins with a student s question about the
Holocaustwhich Jones cannot answer. The Holocaust was a horrific event that occurred from 1933
to 1945. This atrocity was initiated by Adolf Hitler, who tortured and murdered over eleven million
Jewish people in extermination camps. Today, the Holocaust is considered genocide, a word that
was first coined in 1944 by a lawyer by the name of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the final years of the war, Himmler and Eichmann proposed the concept to place the Jewish
people in camps and eliminate the rest of the Jewish people before the war was over; this concept
was known as the Final Solution. These SS soldiers are the main cause of the Holocaust because
they were the group that fully helped consummate Hitler s idea to remove the Jewish people out of
Germany and, in the end, they gave the orders to mass murder any Jew alive. In the pre war years,
the Nazi Party wanted to find a solution to the Jewish question meaning what to do with them ( Final
Solution Learning). On July 31, 1941, Heydrich submitted the draft of the measures he proposed to
undertake to implement the desired final solution of the Jewish Question ( SS ). In the fall of 1941,
the Nazi soldiers implemented the plan and began to effectuate it by experimental gassings in the
Auschwitz extermination camp and then moving forth to surrounding camps ( Final Solution
Learning). Between then and 1945, the top SS soldiers continued to give the orders to torture, mass
shoot, gas (especially in constructed extermination camps), enforce murderous labor, and other
means ( Holocaust ). The ideas, which were thought of by Himmler, Eichmann, and Heydrich, are
what allowed for this brutality to cause such a large scale genocide. Despite the eleven million
The Northern Ireland Conflict
The Northern Ireland Conflict

Esteemed members of the Board, in this report I intend to convincingly show you that the borders
in question absolutely need to be redrawn. The borders I speak of are those of the British
oppression of Northern Ireland. For years upon years the British have possessed political control
over the people of Northern Ireland. I will make it obvious to you that the strong Catholic religion
throughout Northern Ireland has forced the people to oppose British control. As most of you know,
the official and majority religion of Great Britain is that of Protestantism. And the deeply faithful
Irish have always felt that they were looked down upon by the British for refusing to practice their

This is a decent proportion of the population in Northern Ireland. It is significant enough for the
British government to recognize that the language still serves a special purpose in the Irish culture.
The language is so important that to give the British government a better name, they have set up
government funded classes for Irish of all ages to learn it. The British government has also funded
Irish language festivals, adult education classes, and research into Irish place names in Northern
Ireland. So it is obvious that the language of Ireland is extremely important to the culture and to
the people of the land. The Gaelic language has survived for so long because of the strong family
ties the Irish hold. These strong family ties are how many of the customs of the culture are passed
down from generation to generation. The family serves a key role in the society of the country. The
bonds of family do not only apply to the nuclear family, but instead the entire extended family
usually lives close to each other and often meet together for religious holidays. This strong family
bond is how many of the Irish people have been able to survive the many travesties that have been
bestowed upon them throughout the years.
One of the qualities that are not unique to the Irish people is that of the clothing styles. The styles
found in Ireland are the styles that are found throughout Europe and the rest of the Western World.

Britain s Victory Of The Falklands War
Britain s victory in the Falklands War undoubtedly contributed to the Conservative Party s election
victory in 1983. However, it should not be considered essential to this triumph. Historians such as
Helmut Norpoth have suggested that the Falklands factor significantly increased the popularity of
the Thatcher administration and resulted in her re election. Dennis Kavanagh noted the effect on the
war on Margaret Thatcher s image and emphasised the importance of this during the election
campaign. Nevertheless, the Conservative success in 1983 must be attributed primarily to the pre
war circumstances including the poor public perception of the Labour Partyfollowing their tenure in
office prior to 1979 and Thatcher s social and economic policies. The Conservative victory was not
down to a singular event, but a combination of events that all affected her image and her perception
by the British electorate. Had Labour been a stronger opponent, the Conservatives may not have
won in 1983. The most valid conclusion drawn is that of Peter Riddell; the 1983 election was a
result of opposition weaknesses and the dividing role of the Alliance rather than the Falklands factor.
The Falklands conflict was, in the opinion of both Thatcher and many historians believed to be a
key reason for Thatcher s re election. The fact that the Conservatives had a jump in support of 11
per cent between February and July 1982 showed that the conflict was beneficial to the party, despite
initial resistance
The Human Body And The Musculoskeletal System
The human body is a complex network that has many organ systems designed for proper functioning.
As the body ages over time, it also affects the effectiveness of these organ systems. One of the organ
systems that demonstrated the most significant age related changes have to be the musculoskeletal
system. The musculoskeletal system provides the most obvious external signs of aging because its
main function is to provide protection, support and movement of the muscles and bones (Aldwin).
These functions are essential to the mobility and strength of the adult population in order to preserve
their quality of life.
The two main age related changes that are seen in this system pertain to the bones and soft tissues.
Bone is the fundamental part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Normal age related changes in the musculoskeletal system profoundly impact the everyday lives of
older adults by increasing the disability rate and restricting the mobility of the body. Some of those
changes affect the posture, sense of balance and self image of the older person (Aldwin). Daily
activities like walking, jogging, lifting and even getting up from recline position may take longer
time and more difficulties. It can also affect the mental status of the older person because they lose
the confidence of being independent and feeling more apathetic towards physical activities.
Age related changes and disease processes in later life are sometimes mistakenly used
interchangeably, but they are not the same. Changes common enough that the majority of the
population can expect to experience as they age and is inevitable deals with age related changes
(Aldwin). In the musculoskeletal system, most people expect that as they age, the muscle strength
will decrease due to wear and tear in certain areas. Disease processes in later life is described as the
malfunctions in individuals that can accelerate the aging process (Aldwin). Some examples in the
musculoskeletal system include osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, back pain, bursitis and tendinitis.
One of the most profound disease of the musculoskeletal system that leads to chronic disability,
impact an older person s physical, social and mental health is
Temp Agencies Research Paper
As a small business, hiring the employees that you need to keep your business running can be
challenging. When you already have a very small staff, it can cost a lot of money to review
applications and conduct interviews and can take away from the work that your staff needs to be
doing. This process can be even more costly when you only need to fill or add a position
temporarily. That is where temp agencies come into play. Here are three things you need to know
and understanding about working with temp agencies as a small business.
Work With One Or Two Agencies
First, select just one or two agencies to work with. You don t need to work with a handful of
agencies when you only have a couple of jobs that you need filled each year. Working with just one
or two temp agencies will allow you to build relationships with the representatives who work for the
temp agencies. By building relationships with the representatives, the representatives will be able to
more easily place candidates at your company that would fit in with your company s culture and be
able to do the work required of them. You increase your relationship with the temp agency
representatives by inviting them to your business, touring them around, and letting them get a first
hand look at how your company operates. The more the temp agency knows about you, the better
they will be able to serve your needs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this is something that you want to have done for potential employees, hire a temp agency that
runs drug and background checks on all potential workers for you. This will reduce your upfront

Reconsidering the Introduction to Interest Rate Theory

S. Kirk Elwood1
ABSTRACT The various theories of interest rate determination presented in economics textbooks
each spotlight a particular fundamental force behind the equilibrium rate. Unfortunately, each theory
s successful emphasis of one determinant of the interest rate comes at the cost of distorting some
other aspect of its determination. This paper argues that the basic market analysis of debt securities
(e.g., bonds and commercial paper) left out of most macroeconomic as well as money and banking
textbooks provides a straightforward and practical perspective on interest rate determination ... Show

But they never extend the analysis to show how interest rates are generally determined by debt
securities markets. Most intermediate texts similarly discuss the inverse relationship between
interest rates and bond prices without mentioning the markets where those prices are determined
(e.g., Blanchard 2003, and DeLong and Olney 2006). Able and Bernanke (2005) go a little further
by acknowledging that changes in money demand affect bond holdings, but still no debt securities
market is developed.

This distinction between debt securities prices and interest rates on which more will be said
below is supported by the fact that the actual markets where their joint values are determined are
explicitly debt securities markets. Bond markets primary as well as secondary and commercial
paper markets quote either the prices or discount rates of their debt securities, and leave the
corresponding interest rate to be inferred. The interest rate is a pricing term generally spoken
outside of the larger financial markets by retail borrowers and lenders such as local banks.3 In
addition to the great familiarity with interest rates by those who borrow or lend through banks, most
economists dependably refer to interest rates instead of debt securities prices because it is assumed
that economic agents think in terms of interest
Who Is The Hacker In The Masked Avengers
The Masked Avengers By David Kushner is about a group of people who are anonymous and hack
into things like data web bases, this is pretty much all they have in common. Hackers are not a
group who do things the same and together primarily because there are so many different types of
people who are interested in different things although Wikipedia more commonly sees hacking as
skilled computerexpert that uses their technical knowledge to overcome a problem . For example a
hackercan do their job not as the stereotypical way of bad but in helping out the common good in
people, such as tracking down child predators and turning them into the police. Even though this may
be seen as illegal hacking that violates the privacy of others, when its
