The Impact Of The Tang Dynasty On China
China, one of the world s first civilizations. Today, it is widely known for it s cultural and
technological advances. China has a captivating and rich history. China s rulers known as emperors
had a long rein over China. Approximately 2000 years expanding over thirteen dynasties. Out of
those dynasties, the Tang was the most glorious of all. First off, the Tang dynastyhad the greatest
impact on Chinabecause it greatly influenced in China s peace and prosperity, and was even
referred to as the Golden Age . The silk road was thriving between the east and west, causing the
economy of the empire to improve. Along with the establishment of the Tang Dynasty (618 907)
and a great prosperity in the economy, the Silk Road rose to its peak in history. Before the An
Lushan Rebellion (755 762), this world famous road experienced its Golden Age of development,
(TravelChinaGuide). The empire of China was peaceful and celebrated; which meant everyone,
peasants and even the emperor, were content and happy.
Another reason that the Tang dynasty was the greatest is its many incredible achievements. Some of
these achievements include the development of medicine and astronomy. One example of medicinal
advancements is the smallpox vaccination that was developed. In addition to the smallpox vaccine,
they also discovered the source of diabetes, The study of medicine is one of the highest
contributions of Tang Dynasty as it is practiced worldwide. The illustration of using herbs or
Jim Carry
The youngest of four children born to Percy (an accountant and aspiring jazz saxophonist) and
Kathleen, Jim Carrey was an incurable extrovert from day one. As a child he performed
constantly, for anyone who would watch, and even mailed his résumé to The Carol Burnett
Show (1967) at age 10. In junior high he was granted a few precious minutes at the end of each
school day to do stand up routines for his classmates (provided, of course, that he kept a lid on it
the rest of the day). Carrey s early adolescence took a turn for the tragic, however, when the family
was forced to relocate from their cozy town of Newmarket to Scarborough (a Toronto suburb). They
all took security and janitorial jobs in the Titan Wheels factory, Jim working... Show more content on

Playing a naive salesman who discovers that his entire life is the subject of a TV show, Carrey
demonstrated an uncharacteristic sincerity that took moviegoers by surprise. He won a Golden
Globe for the performance, and fans anticipated an Oscar nomination as well when it didn t
materialize, Carrey lashed out at Academy members for their narrow minded selection process.
Perhaps inspired by the snub, Carrey threw himself into his next role with abandon. After edging
out a handful of other hopefuls (including Edward Norton) to play eccentric funnyman Andy
Kaufman in Man on the Moon (1999), Carrey disappeared into the role, living as Kaufman and
his blustery alter ego Tony Clifton for months (Carrey even owned Kaufman s bongo drums,
which he d used during his audition for director Milos Forman). His sometimes uncanny
impersonation was rewarded with another Golden Globe, but once again the Academy kept
quiet. An indignant Carrey next reprised his bankable mania for the Farrelly brothers in Me,
Myself Irene (2000), playing a state trooper whose Jekyll and Hyde personalities both fall in love
with the same woman (Renée Zellweger). Carrey s real life persona wound up falling for her too
a few months after the film wrapped, the pair announced they were officially a couple. By then,
Carrey had already slipped into a furry green suit to play the stingy antihero of Ron Howard s How
the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). He plans to take a break from the limelight
Mondelez s Letter To Hershey
Mondelez, who is responsible in making Oreo cookies and Cadbury chocolates, recently sent a
letter to Hershey s proposing a tie up. In that letter, Mondelez proposed a $23 billion bid for
Hershey Co. to create a partnership between both the world s largest candy making companies
during a time when their companies sales are both under pressure. The billion dollar offer would
enable Mondelez plan to expand in the United States and become the world s largest confectioner.
However, Hershey snubbed their offer. Hershey is allegedly reported to have mishandled a $12
billion charitable contribution over a centry ago by the company s founder. Hershey s market
ranking is at $107 per share in cash and stock. For investors, this means it is time
Italian Lunch In School
Do you like doing well in school and having the necessary energy to get through the eight hour
school days? Do you like being able to go to class in the afternoon without your stomach growling,
and being able to stay focused? Well if you like those things, you better have some money!
A study by the New York Times came out in February of 2015, saying that just over half of all
students attending public schools in the United States are now eligable for free or reduced priced
lunches . What people don t often tell you, is what comes in this free or reduced priced lunch .
In this comparison above done by buzzfeed, they compare the US lunch in school to that of an Italian
lunch in school. But, what the US lunch actually shows is a lunch for
Retention Pond In Florida
There are retention ponds in Florida. A business built a building over one of these ponds. The
pond is a perfect circle, and the building is a perfect rectangle. The corners of the building are
ABCD, and the ratio of side AB to side BC is 4 to 3. The perimeter of the building measures 280
units, and the edge of the pond is 4 units beyond the corner of the building. We want to figure out
the area of the pond that is not covered by the building. To find the area of the pond that is not
covered by the building, I drew a picture.
I labeled the length and width as 4x and 3x. I need to solve for the side lengths. So I made the
equation 280= 4x + 3x + 4x +3x. I solved the equation and found that x is equal to 20. So the
length is 80 units and the width is 60 units. And I have to multiply the side lengths together to find
the area. The area of the rectangle is four thousand eight hundred. Now, to find the area of the
circle, I have to find the radius. I saw that if I connected the corners of the building to form a
diagonal line, it would form the diameter of the circle. So I made an equation using the pythagorean
theorem. I found the hypotenuse was one hundred. I then added one hundred and eight because the
pond extends four units on each side. So the radius is fifty four. And to find ... Show more content on

Each plant costs a dollar and twenty five cents, and use up thirty square units of land. I want to find
the total cost of the plants needed to cover the available area. To find the cost of plants, I would
take the uncovered area of the pond and divide it by the area needed for each plant. This equals
one hundred and forty five. But each plant costs a dollar and twenty five cents, so I have to
multiply one hundred forty five by one dollar and twenty five cents. So the total cost of the plants
needed to cover the available area is one hundred eighty one dollars and twenty five
Summary Of The Monomyth As A Hero s Journey
Throughout life, it has become evident that people are shaped by the experiences and actions of the
people around them. It is merely impossible to survive in complete isolation; the actions of others
create long lasting impacts on how people live. This is evident both in fictional and nonfictional
scenarios. As literature progresses, it has become seen that almost all fictional stories, and sometimes
even nonfiction, are based around the same recurring storylines. This theory, brought about by
Joseph Campbell, has been explored tremendously within the last century. Joseph Campbell, an
American mythologist and writer, has become known for his theory of the monomyth, also known
as the heros journey . In this theory, there were eighteen stages that each common hero was known
to undergo before achieving an ultimate success. After further research, Campbell reduced his
theory into twelve stages. Each of these stages are known to evidently lead the hero to their goal,
and these stages include struggle as well as parts that are not too difficult. Throughout the idea of a
monomyth, there are a few components that are absolutely necessary for the monomyth to be
considered as a true hero s journey , and these components include: the ordinary world, the call to
adventure, entering the unknown or the forest , and the reward/journey home. The ordinary world is
the part in which the yet unborn hero is raised in; this is where they began and where they will
eventually realize their
Russian American Culture
Russian culture is its history and people, which date back 1200 years beginning has a small empire
in Eastern Europe. Why now when it comes to Russia, are Americans stuck in concepts of the
communist Soviet Union (6). A period of history of just seventy years that ended twenty five years
ago. To understand Russias culture, we will look back on Russian history and current circumstances.
Russia is the largest country the world at over 17,000,000 sq. km, twice the extent of the United
States. Laying on two continents the Russian Federation is split by the Ural Mountains; with
European Russia to the west and Siberia east covering the entirety of northern Asia (8). Russia s land
mass traverses eleven different time zones and has multiple environments.... Show more content on

Most northern Russia is arctic tundra. The chilliest temperature outside Antarctica was recorded
in Oymyakon, Russia during the winter of 1924 at 96.16 F ( 71.2 C) (1). Russia s harsh climate
and terrain makes farming and agriculture challenging, less than ten percent of the soil is arable
for farming. Fishing is a different story, twenty five percent of the world s frozen fish is exported
from Russia (4). Europe s longest river (Volga) and deepest lake (Baikal) are both found in Russia.
Russia has the fourth longest coastline of any country, two thirds lies north of the 70th parallel and
