Detection Of A Dependency Detection System
In this chapter, we review the related work in the following fields: 1) automatic service
dependency detection, 2) attack prediction, and 3) application level DDoS attack protection. 1
Automatic Service Dependency Detection Previous work on service dependency detection include
many different approaches. In order to compare the previous work, we first introduce some
desirable effectiveness criteria for a dependency detection approach. Later, we use these criteria for
reviewing and classifying the previous work. 1.1 Dependency Detection Effectiveness Metrics One
can expect several properties from an ideal dependency detection system. Dependency detection
ideally should: be able to detect direct and indirect dependencies; be able to handle... Show more

If the communication between service and is hidden from the system, the dependency detection
system will not be able to build the entire information flow path between service and service and
may miss the dependency relationship. A dependency detection approach can be host based or
network based, depending on the data source it uses (network traces or system logs). Network
based systems are generally easier to deploy. A dependency detection approach can be application
dependent or application independent. An application independent approach works correctly in the
presence of unknown types of services. On the other hand, the application dependent approaches
need readjustments or reimplementations for different types of services. A dependency detection
approach may or may not provide a measure of confidence for detected dependencies. To have a
confidence level for each dependency detection approach can help the administrators to decide and
choose their most important dependencies based on the most reliable information. And finally, a
dependency detection approach may or may not be susceptible to confusing correlation with
causation. 1.2 Previous Work NSDMiner[] is a passive correlation based dependency detection
system. It looks only for local remote dependencies by computing the probability of the remote
service being requested given the local service being requested. eXpose[] is another passive

Who Launched An Object Into Space Research Paper
On October 4, 1957, the world was changed. It was the first time that anyone had launched an
object into Earth s orbit. It was one this day that the Soviet Union launched Sputnik I. The Soviet
Union and the United States had racing to get the first satellite into space, the new frontier. Some
people in the world saw this is a very negative thing, but this feat was really something great.
Humans had sent an object into outer space. The whole story, however, really starts a few years
before, when the International Council of Scientific Unions designated the time period of July 1,
1957 to December 31, 1958, the International Geophysical Year. They declared that this would be the
best time to document and study the Earth from space. It... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The launch of the first satellite was an incredible feat for the Soviet Union scientific community,
and a very shocking blow to the Americans. However, the launch did not only affect the scientific
communities. Many civilians were worried what the satellite could do and what power it gave
the Soviet Union, even though President Eisenhower attempted to make it seem like the launch
was not a big deal. It showed great leap that the USSR had made in their space program. This led
to the United States putting much more money towards math and science programs. They
especially put more funding into specifically space and military programs. Americans were
worried what the Soviets could do. If they had rockets that could power something out of this
world, they could easily launch a missile to reach the US. Theories swirled about what the Soviet
Union might try to do with a satellite in space; launch nuclear missiles, spy on Americans, and
many other ideas. These ideas may not have been the goals for the first satellite, but the space race
was definitely stepped up a notch. The space race was only a small part of a much bigger conflict,
the Cold War. While the Soviet Union was working on their space program, they were also
developing a line of new and advanced weaponry. News got the United States, so then both
countries were building up their armories. The Cold War had grown, not only to the space race, but
also an arms
The Definition Of Self-Actualization
While searching the internet, I came across the word self actualization, (self actualiˈzation) which
means, the realization or fulfillment of one s talents and potentialities, especially considered as a
drive or need present in everyone ( Library Login ). I found this definition very interesting and
believe that this wordcan apply to my own life. Self actualization is a theory in psychology, by
Abraham Marlow, that states once you meet your psychological (breathing, food, water, sleep),
safety (security of body, employment, resources, morality, health, and property), love/belonging
(friendship and family), and esteem needs (self esteem, achievement, respect of/by others) you
can reach self actualization. This word really stood out to me because, as a college student, I am
trying to reach self actualization. Every day, I go to class I am striving to do my best so that I
can graduate and become the best version of myself by reaching the fullness of my potential.
When looking at how words are built, there are many things that can help to make the meaning of
the word easier to understand. If you break a word down into its prefix, base word, and suffix, you
can get a better understanding of the definition. In the word self actualization, the prefix is self, the
root word is actual, and the suffix is tion. Researching the etymology of the prefix, root word, and
suffix can help to simplify it down even further, and get an even clearer version of the meaning of
the word. The
Three Guiding Principles, Axioms Or Postulates For My Tax...
Five guiding principles, axioms or postulates for my tax practice. There are five guiding principles
that guide me in my career as an independent tax professional. They are as follows:
1.Respect customers personal time by providing convenient service with no lines and no waiting.
2.Adhere to the highest standards of ethics; follow the tax practitioner rules established by the IRS.
3.Provide a clean, calm and safe environment in which to meet with customers.
4.Listen to the customer s fear and anxiety about his/her tax situation.
5.Provide quality service with a smile.
Current state of principles and values illustrated by professionals in the tax preparation service
industry The tax preparation industry services millions of customers each tax season. Among the
industry participants there are tax preparation franchises and independent tax preparation firms. The
values illustrated by a tax professional; depends upon the individual or firm that is providing the
service. However, most customer complaints are against tax preparation franchises like HR Block
and Jackson Hewitt. Therefore, these complaints indicate that there is a lack of principle and values
within this industry as a whole. On the other hand; there are other choices for taxpayers to receive
the highest level of principles and values within their service. For instance; most customer
complaints involve long wait times for service. Then, to add insult to injury; they further complain

Aristotle Vs. Aristotle s Rhetoric And Dialectic
In Rhetoric, Aristotle states, Let rhetoric be [defined as] an ability, in each [particular case], to
see the available means of persuasion (Kennedy, 2007, p. 37). Aristotle is saying that rhetoric is
not just the art of persuasion through speech. He was saying that rhetoric is the art of discovering
the methods of persuasion available in all situations. This relates to the goal of many figures in the
current day political climate. This goal is to discover methods of persuading as many people as
possible as often as possible. A politician s use or rhetoriccan be compared to Aristotle s study of
rhetoric in that both utilize the artistic proofs and practice the three species of rhetoric. Aristotle s
definition of rhetoric closely matches the goals of modern politicians, and so rhetoric has become
ingrained into our modern day political process.
Aristotle views rhetoric as the counterpart to dialectic, and points out several key differences.
Aristotle says that both rhetoric and dialectic begin with endoxa , or reasoning from a commonly
held belief or opinion (Herrick, 2016, p. 71). Both rhetoric and dialectic must be based on a logical
argument. Rhetoric takes that argument and adds elements of the speaker s character and emotions,
creating a more diverse method of persuading an audience. Dialectic favors a fact based dialogue
and does not rely on the speaker s character and emotions. Rhetoric and dialectic are both methods of
addressing questions. These questions do
Attention Deficit Disorder
Attention Deficit Disorder History In 1845, Dr. Hendrick Hoffman first person to describe
Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Hoffman was also a poet who wrote stories for his three year old
son. Hendrick s story, The Story of the Fidgety Philip accurately described a little boy who had
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (What is ADHD). During the early 1900 s, Sir George
Still, a British pediatrician, published lectures to the Royal College of Physicians in England (What
is ADHD). He described the condition as an abnormal defect of moral control in children and stated
that it was caused by a genetic dysfunction (Holland). In 1980, the American Psychological
Association revised the name of the disorder from hyperkinetic impulse... Show more content on

The disorder s name has changed due to scientific advances and field trials that were conducted. AD
/HD (A.D.D or ADHD) is not one specific disorder because it comes with variations. It is now
divided into three subtypes, based off of the main features that are associated with the disorder:
impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattentiveness (Attention Deficit Disorder). The subtypes of AD/HD
are the Predominantly Combined Type, Predominantly Inattentive Type, and Predominantly
Hyperactive Impulsive Type. The Predominantly Combined type of ADHD is the most common out
of the three. Individuals who have this type have symptoms from Predominantly Inattentive ADHD
and Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive ADHD (Types of ADHD). Some symptoms include not
listening and being unable to follow or understand instructions, whether simple or easy.
Predominantly Inattentive ADHD has symptoms such not paying attention to detail, being
distracted or forgetful, and avoiding tasks that involve effort (Types of ADHD). In order to be
diagnosed with this type of ADHD, one must have at least six of the nine symptoms as well as a
few of the Hyperactive Impulsive Type of ADHD. The Hyperactive Impulsive type deals with
symptoms such as fidgeting, squirming, and speaking too much (Types of ADHD). Once again, to
be diagnosed, one must have six symptoms and a few of the Inattentive

Seat Belt Laws Essay
Since the implementation of mandatory seat belt laws studies have shown that seat belt usage has
increased while traffic fatalities have decreased. Seat belt usage rates increased from 17% to 79%
in the U.S. between 1983 and 2003 (Houston Richardson, 2006). All U.S. states except New
Hampshire have mandatory seat beltlaws for adults. Currently, there are two types of seat belt
enforcement, primary and secondary. To date, 34 states have a primary enforcement law which
allows a police officer to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicleand issue a citation for no other reason
than the fact that the driver is not wearing a seat belt. A benefit to a state having a primary
enforcement law is that in 2016 seat belt usage was up 92% according to the CDC (2017).
A secondary seat belt enforcement law requires a police officer to have a separate traffic
infraction, such as speeding, before being allowed to cite a driver for not wearing a seat belt.
There are 15 states which currently operate under a secondary seat belt law. According to research
provided by the CDC, states with secondary seat belt enforcement action had an increase in seat
belt usage by 83% in 2016 (2017). It is unclear if states with primary enforcement action have less

According to NHTSA, 13,941 lives were saved by seat belts in 2015 while an additional 2,814 could
have been saved if properly restrained (2017). One impact of seat belt usage is reducing the risk
serious or fatal injuries by about half. The CDC reported in 2009, 53% of occupants killed in crashes
in the U.S. were not wearing seat belts (2014). According to data collected in 2008 by NHTSA,
seat belts have saved an estimated 225,000 lives (2009). The benefit of wearing a seat belt can help
increase chances of surviving a crash with little or no
Renaissance Clothes Research Paper
Have you ever wondered why people in the renaissance wore different kinds of styles and how
they made them? As time goes on the style of clothing changes and how it s made. The creation of
clothes has to do a lot on the style of clothes. Clothing styles and the development of cloths are
much related. Historically clothes has changed because of the advancement in technology, Size of
the people, and the cost of tailoring clothes In addition to the size of the people back in the days
people got clothes made by a tailor. Tailors needed dozens of measurement to have a suit made that
was an exact fit. Around the late 1920s and 1930s clothes that were pre made start to be made but
there was a problem for women there was a lot of clothes that would
Essay on Song Analysis of Fortunate Son
Evaluation of Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival Following World War Two, the two
legitimate world powers were the United States and the Soviet Union. With the Soviet Union under a
communistic government and the United States being a nation founded in Capitalism, tensions
between the two nations rose, resulting in the Cold War. Against the wishes of the United States,
small countries in East Asia began to turn communist. Fear that one country turning would have a
chain reaction turning many more, the United States turned to a policy of containment . This policy
was tested in the Korean Warand would be again tested in the Vietnam War. Starting as a War with

Either way the message of this verse is how the the senator s son[s] would not see the heat of
combat unlike the common man as explained by John Fogerty in an interview where he said, Julie
Nixon was hanging around with David Eisenhower, and you just had the feeling that none of
these people were going to be involved with the war. This proved inaccurate as David did serve in
the reserves however it was a sentiment among the American public with individuals such as Bill
Clinton, Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, and others who political influence helped them avoid the
draft. The next verse in the song addresses privileged class in American culture, the wealthiest of
Americans. The song states that, Some folks are born silver spoon in hand, Lord, don t they help
themselves, oh criticising the rich who live easier life where things are often given to them and
the song also calls them greedy by saying that they help themselves . Fogerty further criticizes the
rich by saying how they do not help the poorer citizens with the lyrics, But when the tax men come
to the door, Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes showing how the high class tax men are
coming to take away the belongings and the livelihoods of the common man. Fogerty s distrust of the
rich in this verse stems from the law which stated that active members in a university, be it

When the market demand for shipping capacity was high, owners would keep a vessel in
operation as long as possible. Conversely, when market demand was low, scrapping rose. There
had been very few scrapping in recent years, one reason might be that most of the capacity of the
worldwide fleet of capsizes was fairly young which we can see from Exhibit 5, another reason might
be the market demand is strong recently.
Market demand is affected by trading volumes, world economy and even trading patterns.
For example, in 2003, the Australian and Indian ore exports would begin, the volume would
increase, demand for capsize would likely increase as well with the higher trading volumes.
Exhibit 5 shows the evidence that demands (Iron ore vessel shipments) and supply (Fleet size) drive
the average daily hire rate (Avg. spot rate).
Factor 2: World economy
The average daily hire rate is also determined by the world economy, especially its basic
industries. When the economy is strong, the production and demand for the shipped products
increase thus will result a lower hire rate. Conversely, when the world economy is in a recession, the
hire rate will be lower. Take an example, the average hire rate declined in 1998 and 1999 because of
the effect of 1998 financial crisis.
Factor 3: Age of ships
Average hire rate is influenced by the age of the ships. If a company s vessels are relatively new
than the industry average, it earned a premium in daily hire rate
Religion Is An Organized System Of Worship
Faith is a belief or a prediction of the future while religion is an organized system of worship
followed by a group of people (Pyle 1). While both sound mostly superstitious, they are very
necessary for the running of the daily human lives. Humans, for the fear of the unpredictable future,
often come up with myths that they hope will keep them safe. It serves them well, as it helps them
carry on with their daily activities with reduced fear and anxiety. However, the problems begin
when they think that everyone one else must follow their faith. With their superiority in numbers or
other forms of power such as firearms, they might be tempted to follow other minor and weaker
groupings to be part of them or perish. In this way, religionand faith have been used to steal wealth
from weaker kingdoms and make slaves out of previously free humans.
One significant positive impact that has been created by religion is the unification of people from
various cultures through one faith. However, this has also created a lot of trouble as some cultures
have been swallowed up by others. Religions have given us great timeless artistic masterpieces and
musical composition for the use of worship by the masses.
A common misconception regarding faith and religion is that other people have to believe what one
believes. The misconception convinces the believers that only their religion is the right one, and
other people should follow it without question. Such indoctrination has led to inter and
Stigmatization Of Immigrants Essay
Imagine walking down a dark and dimly lit corridor. The only thing that can be heard is the sound
of airplane engines shutting down. As you are walking, the sound grows dimmer and the light from
the end becomes brighter and brighter, as if it was the sun. At the end of the tunnel there are two
signs, one pointing towards security and another pointing towards international security. Once you
enter the international security cue, you get the feeling as if everyone is watching. When it is your
turn to hand the attendant your passport, he or she asks you a series of questions: What is the
purpose of your visit? How many days are you staying? It is as if they are interrogating you, which
they are. Immigrants have this kind of stigmatism... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This adding of high income and low income earners, shrinks the job market for most immigrants,
making it harder and harder for immigrants to get out of poverty. One might constitute the question,
that if the poverty rate is so high why do immigrants not have multiple jobs? The fact is, that
immigrants do have multiple jobs, but it is very difficult because These immigrants presumably
compete for the same jobs held by the least skilled native workers... (Card 2). For immigrants it is
a constant cycle of competition from United States citizens and other immigrants. It has been said,
The increase in poverty among immigrants is driven mostly by the changing national origin
composition of the foreign born (Card 3). With the increasing populations of immigrants, job will
become harder and harder to come by, which leads immigrants to turn to a life of crime. ¬¬¬¬A life
of crime for most immigrants is not their first choice, but it may be the only way for them to provide
for their families. A recent study stated, that the incarceration rate for immigrants are, 0.85 percent
for illegal immigrants, and 0.47 percent for legal immigrants (Landgrave). So the blanket statement
that immigrants cause crime has been profoundly falsified. The same study also stated that, The
incarceration rate was 1.53 percent for natives (Landgrave). So why are immigrants being
