Reaction Paper On Bullying And Addiction
Researchers found that middle and high school students who bully their peers or are bully victims
(bully others and are also bullied) are more likely than students who aren t involved in bullying to use
alcohol, cigarettes, and marijuana, (Harding, stopbullying.gov). With the problems in American
teens and adults suffering with bullyingand addiction, it seems that although there have been
multiple attempts towards preventing both bullying and addiction, not many have been effective,
however, which should be more focused on: bullying or addiction? In two Ted Talks, Texting
That Saves Lives and A Simple Way to Break a Bad Habit, the speakers both suggest a way to
prevent bullying and addiction throughout teens and adults. Nancy Lublin, in Texting That Saves
Lives, reveals the invention of a text only crisis line, which allows teenagers suffering from
bullying, abuse, self harm, addiction, etc., to comfortably text the hotline in order to seek the help
they want and need. On the other hand, in A Simple Way to Break a Bad Habit, Judson Brewer
gives a straightforward idea for addiction users to be curious and to genuinely focus on what they
are consuming to realize the damage they are doing to their body in order to slowly stop their
addiction, as well as instructing others to change the way they view people with addiction and to get
them help rather than judging them. While both speakers, Nancy and Judson have simple ways of
preventing their topic, Nancy s solution is a
A Day Died Of Heart Attack
Ibbad Hussain

The Perfect day is when I was on a picnic with my family at Karachi beach in
Pakistan. The summertime there is when the day is extremely hot and the ocean exceedingly
breezy. On this perfect day as I recall, the mist of the salty ocean water dampened the face and the
smell of the sizzling burger patties wafted in the air. My Grandfather whom I called Big G , the
reason that calling him Big G is his biggest pet peeve. On this perfect day, Big G made the
greasiest, succulent burger I have ever eaten and that day I ate four full size burgers. I know it s a
lot of food to eat one time, but I can t help it; they were just so mouth watering. Only if things
lasted forever, I wish he were still alive to make another one today just like on this perfect day.
Big G on the perfect day died of heart attack due to lack of proper medications. The heart attack
happened because Big G had high cholesterol, which was not reduced by proper medications like it
is in America. As an effect of improper medications for the high cholesterol condition, any sort of
minor physical activity had serious consequences. On this perfect day, Big G was playing
Badminton with me, and as the game progressed, the physical condition worsened into a sudden
heart attack. My parents rushed Big G to the hospital, but on the way hope was lost. When the
ambulance arrived at the hospital, burial forms had to be filled out instead of hospital admittance
forms. I cried my heart out that day, eventually
Gender Inequality In Country Music
Walking the Line of Gender Inequality Country music is a staple of American culture, however it
does not properly represent over half of its audience. Female musicians in the country music genre
are heavily outweighed by their male counterparts in terms of radio airplay and sales. Why do the
successful country music artists not reflect the demographic of the audience? Has representation of
each genderin country music always been as skewed as it is today? Femaleartists in country music
should receive the same opportunities or treatment from the industry that maleartists do.
Country music originated in the 1920s in Tennessee. The genre was influenced by folk music from
the Appalachian Mountains and revolved around themes of love, faith, ... Show more content on

Commercially, some women have experienced extreme success while under the country music
umbrella. Shania Twain, one of the most popular artists in the 1990s, Not only is [...] country
music s most successful female artist, she also recorded the genre s most successful album of all
time, Come On Over in 1997 (McCarthy, par. 3). Taylor Swift s 2013 arena tour to support her
last country album was the most lucrative tour in North America that year, bringing in more than
$113 million in ticket revenue (Sisario, par. 16). Critically, women have fared extremely well in
recent years. A movement to make music acknowledging the genre s roots has been lead by a
group of female country musicians to the admiration of critics and fans alike, if they get the
chance to hear the music. Since 2014, seven of fifteen nominees for the Grammy Award for
country album of the year have been women, with two of the three winners being female (Leight,
par. 28 30). If women are given the opportunity to be heard on the radio and develop a fanbase, the
chances to achieve a high level of prosperity are just as high as their male counterparts . The level
of critical success experienced by some new female artists shows that women and the themes they
portray in their songs appeal to many people, even if the music is not being heard by the
Children And Adolescents Experience With Peers
Children and adolescents experience life different ways, whether with family or with peers. The
concept of children and adolescents experience with peers is that the children s interactions with
their peers plays a huge role in their development socially. Although this concept is very true and
accurate, in some cases, this conceptcan encounter some issues when applied to everyday situations.
Life situations can alter or rearrange the way the concept of children and how they learn from their
peers.
The article entitled, Second Grader Brandon Schlund Is a Standout Student in His School He s Also
the Only One , about a child named Brandon Schlund. Brandon was the only child on his entire
island, Bois Blanc Island. The article included a number of interviews with the teacher at the
school and Brandon s parents. They all discussed how he was an amazing child and has the
ability to do the things equivalent to those of an adult on the island. It also mentioned that he had
cousins that lived in a neighboring city, which was a 45 minute ferry ride away. Brandon only
interacted with adults on a daily basis, no children whatsoever. Let me explain why we should be
concerned with the development of this boy, if this was to continue for years, Brandon would
begin to develop one of two ways; Brandon would either have the mentality of a baby or he would
begin to have the mentality of an adult. Brandon could develop the mentality of a baby because the
adults on the island would be so
Essay On Sarojini Naidu
#3. Sarojini Naidu
Also known as the Nightingale of India, Sarojini Naidu was a freedom fighter and activist. She
used to wear simple sarees and adorn her neck with a necklace. Hair tied in a bun with a pair of
spectacles complete the look.
Fun Fact: I feel envious to share that Sarojini Naidu started her literary career at the tender age of 12!

Dressing up as fruits is fairly easy. Just make your child wear a track suit of a pastel shade and
create the shape of the fruit you want, like watermelon, strawberry, mango, or grapes on a
thermocol and cut it. Now you can either paint it or cover it with a pastel sheet. Hang it in your
child s neck using a ribbon.

Discrimination Of Muslim Women In The US
In the US Constitution, the first amendment states that Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... However, this law is being
ignored when it comes to Muslim women in the US. Muslim women in the US, just like everyone
else, have the right to practice their religion and have every right to be treated respectfully and not
be discriminated or harassed because of their religion or their gender. Many muslimwomen practice
the hijab and wear loose fitting clothes because it is a sign of modesty, distinction and to not call
attention upon themselves (McCloud 51). However, in the past few decades discrimination has been
occurring against them due to their lifestyle and the way they
How Did Arthur Miller s Use Of En Medias In Death Of A...
Julianna Harden 10/19/17 2nd A Day IOP Consideration My topic for the Death of a Salesman
IOP would be: What are the effects of Arthur Miller s use of en medias res in Death of a
Salesman. In act one, we are introduced to the main characters. Miller explains what Willy does
and there is some foreshadowing of his death. By the title alone, we know that he is going to die.
In act one, we find out that he never became a successful salesman and he viewed himself as a
failure. Willy s failure was apparent in his business and his family life. He wasn t a good
salesman. His sons also weren t successful. Miller started off the play by telling us what Willy and
his sons, Biff and Happy, lacked but he failed to tell us why. The answer to that question
Cyber Security And The Future Of National Security
MEMO
TO:PROF. GABRIEL MARGOLIS
FROM:TOBIAS BATTS
SUBJECT:CYBER SECURITY AND THE FUTURE OF NATIONAL SECURITY
DATE:4/4/2016

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This memorandum is written to reveal the vulnerabilities of the current state of the United States
cyber security. It will also specify policy options that can be taken in order to improve the current
policy. Cyber security focuses on protecting computers, networks, databases, and programs from
unauthorized access or change. Changes need to be made in cyber security as soon as possible if
the United States wants to be secure.
Informational technology is difficult to secure because of many different factors: the attacks do not
have to occur at the location of the attack, so they can happen from anywhere worldwide, there is
little co operation between existing cyber security groups, and it is difficult to find vulnerabilities
and patch them before an attack. One pressing matter in cyber security now is infrastructure, such
as power plants, which runs on old technology that is susceptible to complex attacks by hackers.
Many actors, including government, individual groups, and businesses all spend time dealing
with, or paying for a lack of, cyber security. A safer way to deal with these problems would be to
co operate, as these attacks could cause harm or disrupt businesses. In the worst case scenario,
millions of dollars worth of information could be stolen or destroyed. These problems highlight the
critical need for an improved
Difference between the US and UK Politial Systems
Possibly the most essential difference amid the United States and United Kingdom political systems
is the constitution or the absence of one. The United States has a written constitution as does a large
majority of nation states. The British do not have a distinct article called the constitution but in its
place its constitutional necessities are scattered over numerous Acts of Parliament. The United States
Constitutionis difficult to adjust and in present political conditions, maybe impracticable to change in
any significant respect. The Equal Rights Amendment which fought to provide equal rights for
women failed and there has been no victorious amendment of the US Constitution except for one
technical measure since 1971. What for realistic purposes constitutes the British Constitution
numerous Acts of Parliament can be altered by a simple majority in the legislature. For example, the
current Government presented set terms for the House of Commons by passing the needed
legislation. In the United States, political dialogue regularly makes references to the constitution,
usually Republicans arguing that Democratic proposals are Unlawful . Above and beyond the fact
that the United Kingdomdoes not obtain a constitution as such, it is uncommon for British
politicians to dispute that the actions or proposals of their opponents are unlawful. An essential
characteristic of the American constitution is the firm separation of the power of the administrative,
the legislature
Analysis Of The Monster In Maurice Sendak s Where The Wild...
Maurice Sendak s Where the Wild Things Are follows a young boy named Max who travels
through night and day...and in and out of weeks and almost over a year to a magical realm of
monsters to escape the perils of bedtime (Sendak). After his mother sends him to bed without any
dinner, Max begins to imagine trees growing in the tiny bedroom and walks through this new
world to a boat and beings his sea voyage to the monsters. The illustration of his first monster
encounter gives us insight into Max s character through the physical appearance of the monster and
the way the scene changes around him. As Max approaches the island, a monster rises out of the
water. With its tall, imposing form and clawed hands reaching out to harm, Max is rightfully
frightened by the terrifying creature. The red coloring is very different from the monsters we see
later, most of whom are varying shades of beige. This could have many meanings. Red is often used
to symbolize love and passion. But, as the monster is presumably attempting to attack Max, one can
assume that love is not the intended meaning of this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, forgetting the goatee for a moment, there are several things that make this monster appear
somewhat feminine. The longer neck and more slender face would certainly suggest femininity.
The feathery shoulder pads, which may possibly even be wings, may conjure images of an
outrageous dress or blouse. The hair, however, is the biggest indicator of gender. The angled cut
in the back, the way the pieces frame the face in front, the fringe over the eyes, all make up a very
stylish bob haircut. The other monsters appear to be more masculine. While in today s society, their
hair appears very feminine, back then, it was more associated with men and the young rebels of the
counterculture movement. They display other masculine features as well. One has a very square
jaw, another has a beard, and they all have more solid
Science In Stephen Gould s Mismeasure Of Man
Stephen Gould wrote the book Mismeasure of Man and did a great job giving his opinion about
eugenics and refuting other scientist beliefs on how to measure the intelligence of a man or
woman. Gould does not write a chapter on eugenics but he does reference it a few times throughout
his book and he does so to make a point that he doesn t necessarily believe it was right. Eugenicsis a
type of sciencethat studied the ways to make the human population better and better, with the use
of science and heredity factors to try and increase the chance of certain traits to be passed down to
his/her future offspring. The good thing is that in today s society, we no longer rely and use
eugenics to improve the population. Gould wrote this book to provide his opinions and ideas on
measuring humans intelligence and to also tell what errors he has discovered during his research.
Gould also references certain works by Charles Darwin, Paul Broca, and Francis Galton. In the case
of Eugenics and the science behind it, I am very glad we as a society no longer believe in it and
depend on it. Science is used in every aspect of life for new discoveries and life but I do
personally believe that in the case of Eugenics, that science was misused. In the past, eugenics
was used and many women was sterilized for not having high enough IQ scores and considered to
have a low intelligence against their will. I don t think that an IQ test can test how smart a person
can become or how smart their future offspring will become. I do believe in genetics and heredity
but we do have the right in our own intelligence. Humans are made to go to school to learn the
basics of life and history and I don t believe there is a limit to how much a person can learn. I have
gone through all of high school, undergrad, and now going for my masters and I of all people
should know that every day we all learn new things and our brain can constantly make new
connections and become more intelligent. It is up to each and every person as to when they want
their intelligence to stop. Now back to Gould s book, he offers many good arguments about
intelligence and how history has improved and ideas are always changing. In this book, Gould
discusses how early on, many
