The Tempest And William OBrien sRevolutionary Mercy
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive
you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins (Matthew
6:14 15). As the Book of Matthew says, one should not expect to receive what they are unwilling to
give. When someone is forgiven for their wrongdoings, they are more likely to show forgiveness for
others wrongdoings. In The Tempest, Prospero seeks retribution from Alonso, Antonio, and Sebastian
for their sins, then later forgives them after conflicting a punishmentamong them. In Revolutionary
Mercy, O Brien explains how the goal of the prisonin his hometown is to gain penitence from the
prisoners, leading to their release, as well as supporting how forgiveness is shown in the Gospel.
Shakespeare s The Tempest and William O Brien s Revolutionary Mercy emphasize the necessity of
retribution, then eventually forgiveness, in moving forward and regaining the trust in others, as well
as from others.
Retribution is necessary because it leads to one being punished for a mistake, causing them to look
back on its impropriety and prevent future wrongdoings. Forgiveness should not come immediately,
as consequences can arise; Radical forgiveness, as articulated and practiced by Jesus, might in fact
be deeply threatening for the social order (O Brien 4). The idea of radical forgiveness from the
Gospel supports the idea of retribution, as radical forgiveness includes letting the

The Eschatology Of John Wesley
The Eschatology of John Wesley
By Jeff Potter Eschatology, or the study of the end of all things, often becomes a central component
of Christian theology regardless of the denomination. Perhaps this stems from the finite nature of
our minds, our inability to truly understand an eternal future, forcing us to yearn for some kind of
end point that we can wrap our minds around. Perhaps it stems from a fear of the unknown, a
desire to know what lies beyond our present reality after our physical death. Perhaps it is both of
these things as well as others swirling around in our minds grasping at cryptic truths as we attempt to
rationalize our faith in the unseen. Whatever the reason, eschatology is an important aspect of the
Christian faith often understood to be pointing to the ultimate goal of the faith. For John Wesley
eschatology provides a lens for all theology and is a present realization of the Kingdom of God which
is yet to fully come. Within the broad spectrum of Christian traditions, eschatology is generally
understood to refer to a specific moment in the future, the eschaton, when this world ends and life
eternal begins. With that understanding come some generally agreed upon events such as the
Second Coming of Jesus Christ, a final battle between Christ and the devil, the end of this world, and
a final destination of heaven for those who have found salvation in Christ. Beyond that there many
variations amongst Christians including timeframes, order of events, and what
Life Habits Of Life Patterns In Daily Life
As a student at ONU and spending summer for the first time on campus while taking summer
classes, it has been a quite busy month for me. For this past month, I have been keeping the
diaries everyday and have realised some life patterns after reading them. First of all, as I kept the
diary everyday, the length of my diaries became shorter and shorter. This was because I was
exciting to keep the diary and finding out what I did on that day for the first couple of weeks. I
have never taken diary before, nor have I taken a close look at what I do in my everyday life, so
it was interesting to find out the things I do on a daily basis in my diary. However, as I had kept
the diary for two weeks, I began to realize that the stuff I do in my everyday life is almost the
same except weekends. Thus, it became repetitive to write the same thing in the diary, so I
tended to write less detail about the everyday routine and tried to write more about new habits or
activities that I started to develop which is very few. Even though the length of my diary got
shortened over time, I have noticed several things as I looked my diaries. In terms of time, I
realised my morning routine is pretty structured and the way I spend time in the morning is almost
the same everyday. No matter how late I went to bed the night before, I would wake up naturally at
around 8 o clock in the morning. I usually set the alarm clock the night before in case I sleep over,
but even when I forgot to set the alarm
Honor Of Honor Codes
On the Honor of Honor codes An honor code is a set of rules that might be enforced in schools.
Children sign an agreement contract that says if they break these rules they accept the punishments.
I believe that honor codes should be enforced in schools when cheating or other misbehaviors get out
of control. In some schools students convicted of lying or cheating can expect to receive
punishments ranging from suspension to expulsion . I believe at this moment hotchkiss high school
just work on revising our honor system. Honor codes are great tools to use in schools, if they are
needed. I believe that there is no reason to enforce a rule or a set if them if there is no actual need
for them. According to Dirmeyer, a researcher, Honor codes don t always work , I believe that if the
old honor code was revised so that when there is a needed for honor... Show more content on

According to Sledge, a student researcher, Honor codes are no different. With 88 out of 275
responses feel that failure in an assignment was a responsible sanction for violation of the honor
code, yet I believe that if honor codes were changed so collaboration on tests and assignments was
allowed students would get better grades in school. I believe all things should be organized
including thoughts, ideas and even rules. If honor codes were to become more common and
reinforced then they need to be revised.I believe that honor codes aren t very organized. Which
makes them hard to read and understand. Sometimes you are reading too much information at once
and it gets confusing too. According to Vangeli students did not fully understand the role of a honor
code. In conclusion, I believe that honor codes are beneficial when needed. I also believe that to be
completely useful they need to revised so that students, parents, and staff alike can understand the
role of the honor codes in

Analysis Of Blomberg s The King Of The Mountain...
This week s reading takes a more in depth look at the current synoptic problem. Blomberg lightly
discusses the main hypotheses (Oxford, Griesbach, and Q) by engaging in their strengths and
weaknesses alike. He also discusses the possible synoptic sources, mainly L , M , and Q . He does
briefly relay some more historical figures, early church fathers mostly, and their seemingly archaic
views on synoptic priority compared to the scholastic achievements in more recent eras.
McKnight gives a closer look at the Oxford or two source hypothesis. He strives to show the Oxford
hypothesis as winning the king of the mountain scholastic debate using the various scholars who
have debated the heaviest in favor of the Markan priority, mainly Streeter. Even as passionately as
McKnight stands on this on going biblical debate, Farmer gives just as obsessive a plea for
Matthean priority as he discusses the Griesbach or two gospel hypothesis. However, Farmer puts
his discussion into terms less eloquently than McKnight does. Farmer very succinctly plots his
discussion into steps as if teaching to a room of theological second graders. While, as a scientist
myself, I can appreciate the calculative style he uses to win the spot at the top of the mountain, I feel
that this debate is scarcely that simple of an answer.
The synoptic problem itself still challenges me. When this debate was first revealed to me in an
undergraduate course, a most basic biblical overview, I fancied myself on the

The creature reads several texts at the start of Chapter 15. What does he learn from Paradise Lost
and what does he understand about himself? Support your answer with evidence from the text.

The creature learns that he is wretched, helpless, and alone. He understands that he is similar to
Adam. Like Adam, I was apparently united by no link to any other being in existence. (Shelley, 118)

Why does the creature claim that Satan was better off than him?

The creature claims that Satan was better off than him because Satan had fellow devils and admirers
while the creature does not.

What does the creature decide he will do with the family in the cottage? Why does he think that he
will be successful? Support your answer with evidence from the text.

The creature decided that he will meet De Lacey when others are not around. He believes that he
will be successful because De Lacey is blind and won t react the same as others. I revolved many
projects, but that on which I finally fixed was to enter the dwelling when the blind old man should be
alone. (Shelley, 121)

How does the creature s meeting with De Lacey turn out? How do Felix and Agatha react to the
creature, and why do you think the creature responds to them the way he does?

The creature s meeting with De Lace turned out well. Felix reacted by attacking him and Agatha
fainted. The creature reacts by leaving the cottage because he respects the family.

What does the De Lacey family do after their encounter with the
Rhetorical Analysis Of Death Be Not Proud
Rhetorical Analysis: Death Be Not Proud The memoir Death Be Not Proud by John Gunther ,
written in 1940, is the most popular American death memoir. This tells a heartbreaking, yet
inspiring story about a young fifteen year old boy struggling with a brain tumor. The story begins
when the boy, Johnny was first diagnosed with the deadly illness and ends with the unfortunate
result. The story is narrated by the father of Johnny who describes the struggle for himself and
Johnny s mother, whom he is divorced from. Although Johnny had this terrible illness which has
impacted his whole life as well as the lives of his family, he still stayed positive. He focused on the
good in life rather than the negatives of dying. Gunther has inspired others by sharing his son s
journey, he has shown that not all... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Someone who can relate to this story, someone in Johnny s shoes with a deadly illness or someone
in Gunther or Frances s (Johnny s mother) shoes, can find inspiration and hope in this story because
of the way Johnny s attitude is described.Throughout the story, Gunther uses process analysis and
narration which highly contributes to the reader s understanding of the story. By using process
analysis, the reader has a deeper understanding of Johnny s struggle because by it starting from the
very beginning, showing shows how his illness progressively gets worse through a sequence of
events. Narration is also an important aspect to the way the story was written because Johnny s
father who narrated the story was a witness of Johnny s illness as he was experiencing it himself. The
author uses characterization, anecdotes, and dialogue throughout the story to get his main
Persuasive Essay On Beauty And Beauty Pageants
Your child is the age between 1 month to 13 years old, they are dressed up in suits and dresses
before they can even walk. They are judged on their appearance, personality, and everything they
have. The children have to get a fake tan, fake eyelashes, wigs, and fake teeth to just complete
half of their look. The other half to complete their look is a full face of makeup and dresses or
suits that are over $600. To put the cherry on top you have to get a makeup artist and a pageant
coach for the talent portion of the pageant. There are about 4 competition categories in each
pageant. The cost of how they appear at the pageant is over $3,000 and to participate in a pageant is

There are children that compete in a pageant if he or she wanted to because they don t have the
amounts of money it takes to be in a pageant. Do we really want our children to grow up thinking
that if you accomplish something you will get money? Or do we want them to think of helping
others in need. The glitz and glam may seem fun and glamorous but loading pounds of makeup,
spray tanning their bodies, giving them fake hair and teeth, even waxing the hair off of their
body can be a bad thing for the 3 14 year old skin in the long run. Yes these children are enjoying
dressing up like princesses and princes Children are only children for so long. Let them grow up
the way a child should be raised. The pageant life isn t all that it seems. Parents do all of these
things for their child to be in a beauty pageant but does the child really want to do it? Some
children refuse to participate in a pageant but some dream to be in them. Mothers enter their
children that don t want to participate for themselves. They enter these children just so they can live
their dream of being in a beauty pageant through their kids. Another reason they put their child in a
pageant is just for the prizes they can win such as cash, crowns, trips and even more. These mothers
will spend thousands of dollars on dresses, costumes, makeup artists, the fake teeth, etc. Just so there

In my Latin 2 class last year, there were few tenth graders. I mainly associated with Tori Vincent,

October 8, 2015, was the first band concert of the year. I always enjoy band concerts. A group
including Justin Hansen, who was dating Tori at the time, Brette Bryant, Tori and me all decided
to go to Cook Out really quickly. As we pulled in Tori pointed to Henry s car and explained how it
broke down earlier and how he was upset. I thought it would be nice if we left him an
encouraging note on the windshield of the car, so he would see when we went to retrieve the car
later that night. They all agreed that was a good idea, so we all wrote personalized notes on a
sheet of notebook paper and left it. That night after the concert, Henry sent me a text thanking me
for the note. He told me how he really needed the encouragement. At that moment, I figured it
would be a great time to tell Henry I liked him. I wasn t completely sure that I liked him, but I
knew I enjoyed him slightly more than just a friend. Much to my surprise, he told me he felt the
same way about me. He was actually jealous when he saw how much I liked Wallace, and wished
it was him. That made me feel great, because I never knew the boy in my Latin 2 class, felt the
same way. As a result, we had a mutual agreement that we would attempt a relationship. I never
truly saw a future for us the way he saw and by the third week, I cut off whatever we were. I tried to
