Design Of An Optimized Compressive Sensing
Abstract This paper presents the design of an optimized Compressive Sensing (CS) based image
compression technique for data transmission over mobile wireless noisy channel. The proposed
technique is more robust to channel noise. It uses individual measurement driven coding scheme,
which facilitates simpler encoder design. The shift of computational burden from encoder to decoder
is more suitable for mobile devices applications where computational power and battery life are
limited. This paper also presents a novel quantizer which allows the encoder to dynamically adapt to
the channel conditions and provide optimum performance.

I.INTRODUCTION
Wireless spectrum is becoming increasingly scarce as more and more mobile devices are being
used with new innovations to support multimedia applications. The evolution of new applications
is further eroding the ability to make spectrum available to ever increasing mobile users [1]. The
design of mobile devices for inclusion of new and evolving multimedia applications faces big
challenges due to: a) limited power supply from battery; b) wireless transmission impairments for
sustained video transmissions; and c) limited CPU capability in each device. Thus data compression
for wireless networks is becoming more and more important. This research takes image as a sample
multimedia data type to explore the necessary improvement. Traditional image
The Value Of Movies In Movies And Film Education
Your movies are shit , said to me, the first year, senior, film major at the best arts boarding school
in country. I have tirelessly made film after film since the age of eight, eventually wanting to reach
even higher with my film education. Having been given the privilege to actually study film in a
classroom setting, I was ecstatic. After being told my whole life how talented I am, after getting
into the best high school film program in the country, my ego was shattered when my stone faced
roommate didn t even make eye contact while mumbling Your movies just aren t good. I would
consider myself literate. I ve been through 1st grade being an avid reader along the way so my
understanding of English is quite decent. Although the concept of being literate is not that simple.
Take someone with a masters degree in English and drop them in some African village, their literacy
will mean nothing. Literacy is based on surroundings. Though to be literate is not only to be
proficient in reading and writing. One can be literate in math, science, history, art, or in my case...
film.
My roommate was a year and a half younger than me and he had the nerve to tell me I was no
good. It was the age difference that struck me. I was on such a high pedestal that I failed to notice
his quite apparent talent. Your movies are shit was the best advice I could receive from someone
like him at the time. I ve never been told that before! Although due to my arrogance I took his
comments with a grain
Senior Psychology
In one of the final chapters of her book, Senior (2014) explores the effects of adolescence on the
emotional and mental well being of parents. In addition to retelling various accounts of six Brooklyn
mothers, Senior uses references to several studies to reinforce her message that the impact on parents
during adolescence can be difficult and intense (p.189). Her observations surrounding the issue of
how parents cope with the transition from child to adolescent is explored through topics titled, the
useless parent, the adolescent brain, and memories, dreams and reflections. Senior s first topic
focuses on the difficulty parents have coping with newfound feelings of uselessness. Senior states
that when children are young parents desire alone time,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, Senior focuses on the topic of reflections and memory. She states that during the time of
adolescence parents are most self critical, facing questions in regards to their purpose after their
children become independent (p.226). This concept is continued with reference to studies like those
of Laurence Steinberg which claim that parents of adolescents often desire to go back and make
different parenting choices knowing that they do now (as cited in Senior, 2014,p.226). Together
Senior s topics of the useless parent, the adolescent brain, and memories and reflection are
explored to explain why the effects had on parents of adolescents are so severe. Her discussion of
these topics with reference to real life stories and studies illuminate readers on the subject of
managing adolescence as a parent, and what outcomes can be
Messenger RNA Interference Pathway
RNA interference pathways play an integral role in the silencing of gene expressions, predominately
by destroying specific targeted molecules of messenger RNA (mRNA). Messenger RNA are single
stranded RNA molecules which move from the nucleus of the cell to the cytoplasm, while sending
and receiving genetic information from DNAvia ribosomes, to where the specific amino acid
sequence of the protein involved in geneexpression is located, as the article, Messenger RNA
Glossary Entry explains. The RNA interference pathway (RNAi) breaks double stranded (dsRNA)
molecules which match a specified targeted gene into short single stranded RNA (ssRNA), which
triggers the deterioration of the mRNA in its corresponding sequence. According to Cartel,... Show

It is greatly involved in immunity. Mostly in plants, it is greatly involved in the immune response
system to prevent viruses and harmful genetic material from damaging the cell. In animals, the
RNAi pathway serves an antiviral purpose, providing protection against pathogens, bacteria, and
other harmful organisms that could potentially put the cell in danger. Jaronczyk s findings
exaplain that RNAi pathways also play a large role in the regulation of development of cell growth
and development. It regulates the timing of morphogenesis, a process which organizes the special
distribution of cells during its embryotic development stages. It also regulates the maintenance of
undifferentiated cell types, or those who are not yet specialized. Finally, RNAi pathways help in
RNA activation, and event in which specific short dsRNA molecules bring about the targeted gene
expression. Even evidence of RNA interference pathways are relevant in the everyday lives of
humans such as insecticides, genetically engineered foods, and new treatments for cancer as
described by Hannon in RNAi: A Guide to Gene Silencing
Pennsylvania Dutch Word Hex
The word hex can be used as either a verb or noun. The verb hex means to bewitch or to practice
witchcraft on . As a noun, the word can refer to a spell, a charm or a witch. Etymologically, the
word hex began as an American English concept in 1830. It originated with the Pennsylvania Dutch,
who immigrated to this country from Germany in the 18th century. The word is from Pennsylvania
German hexe, which means to practice witchcraft . Hexe comes from the German word hexen to
hex and the word Hexe which means witch . It is related to the Old High German hagzissa and
Middle English hagge, the root of our word hag which is often associated with witches. The

It is whatever the practitioner puts into the hex. By insinuating that a hex is evil, as is commonly
believed, we are perpetuating misinformation. It s important to understand how this form of
manipulative magick works so a practitioner will understand the need for prudence when working
with hexes. For my definition of hex in the assignment Off the Top of Your Head , I defined a hex
as a spell cast that intends either positive or negative outcome????? I don t know on this one? .
Obviously I had much learning to do of this term. While it s true that it could have either a
positive or negative outcome, one should strive for positive, always weighing possible outcomes.
I did not realize that it was a form of manipulative magick, nor had I ever heard of that, but it
makes sense. I had always seen hexes portrayed, especially by Hollywood, as something evil or
bad. To summarize, hexes are not by nature something evil. They have been given a bad reputation
by the uninformed. They are a form of manipulative magick that can be used in a beneficial way,
especially to prevent someone from causing harm to themselves or others. The word hex originated
with the Pennsylvania Dutch who use their own form of magick both symbolically in their hex
signs and as part of Pow wow

How Law is Made and Interpreted in French Civil Law System

The civil law is a branch of private law governing relations between people, whether individuals or
legal entities (Sacco, 1991, p.25).
It comprises of:
1.The law of obligations (including contract law);
2.The right people;
3.The family law;
4.The right of property;
5.The law of succession.
In France, civil law is the set of issues and legal acts which fall within the civil courts (Cruz, ... Show

It happens to enjoy a de facto position owing to its two functions, both of which are
complementary to each other: all the current rules of law are explained by it, are synthesized by it,
imperfections are highlighted and solutions are presented, which imparts an improved use of these
laws. Secondly, it casts an influence on legislator in the creation of legislation and usage of laws by
jurors (Bermann Picard, 2008, p.268).

How Law is Made and Interpreted in China

Confucianism
The fundamental assumption upon which Confucianism operates is that human beings are generally
good. Confucian influence on Chinese society is both a full range of deep seated, at the moment the
legal aspects of the body, that is, the process of traditional Confucian law, since the Western Han
Dynasty, deposed hundreds, Only Confucianism , Ceremony into law Confucianism has become the

profound legal feudal tradition and extensive influence. Today, we still find the shadow from the real
life of these effects (Chen, 2007, pp.689).

The Naturalistic Beliefs Of Homer And Hesiod
In this essay, I will be presenting the way Homer and Hesiod accounts for many events such as the
cosmos, origin, and nature of such. I will then present the same information from two Philosophers
who followed, Heraclitus and Parmenides. I will then compare the differing philosophical
arguments to determine how the cosmos and the event surrounding it came to be; furthermore, the
reason behind the differing beliefs. In conclusion, I will state which Philosopher has the better
argument regarding the cosmos and how the world itself came to be. According to Homer, the
cosmos were created based upon different naturalistic interpretations. In Homer s Iliad, he begins
with the ethical values in the time of the Trojans. Pleasure and happiness were cherished by the
Trojans. Achilles, who was half God, half mortal, and the toughest fighter, had a woman distributed
to him. Agamemnon takes the priest s daughter from Achilles, which leads him to become angry,
and as a result, he raced to Troy killing the Greeks with the plague in retaliation. This lead Homer to
conclude the Gods caused disease and were the conflict between human beings, but they were also
able to prevent conflict. (How?) Therefore, the cause of thought was created by the God s. (How?)
Furthermore, God s and/or Goddesses implant dreams, which have the ability to predict the future.
Leading Homer to conclude the cosmos, and events surrounding, were naturalistic in nature.
Following Homer s naturalistic approach is
John Updike s A And P
The Sorrows of Young Sammy In the writing of the story, A P, John Updike gave beauty to the
peculiarity of adolescence revealed in a peculiar story set in a convenience store. Updike equipped
the story with a first person narrator, dramatic irony, and an interesting setting. Those devices served
to realistically portray the naive tone of a lost, soon to be adult. The first person narratorhelped the
readers to hear the story from a teenager who pretended to be mature, setting the naive and immature
tone. Take a look at Sammy s narration. When he noticed that the entire store was interested in the
sexuality the girls in bathing suits presented, he remarked, Poor kids, I began to feel sorry for them,
they couldn t help it (3, Updike). At the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He narrated, the girls, and who d blame them, are in a hurry to get out, so I say I quit to Lengel
quick enough for them to hear, hoping they ll stop and watch me, their unsuspected hero (4,
Updike). The dramatic irony in this scene was that throughout the whole story, Sammy never
mentioned that the girls noticed him because they never did Sammy was the one sided observer.
Therefore, it was obvious that Sammy would receive no reaction from the girls, whom he failed to
observe their disinterest towards him. To the audience, it was clear that the girls would continue to
disregard him, let alone seeing him as their savior, nor participate in his fantasy. How Sammy failed
to see the absurdity of his made up reality was what made him naive, although he clearly wanted to
establish his superiority and admirability as an adult nineteen year old. What s more, he imagined
himself to be the hero of his girls, unsuspectedly protecting them over the ugly, monotonous adult
world. He narrated the incident as if he wished to be the protagonist of a real life children s hero
story, which highlighted the naive, teenage tone. He thought he could enter maturity and adulthood
by being the hero of the teenagers. The dramatic irony of the story highlighted his unawareness of
the reality, therefore the tone of a naive, immature
Nonconformity Analysis
The greatest changemakers, innovators, and visionaries have come from the margins. Tzara,
Ghandi, and Martin Luther King Jr. are all examples of intelligent non conformists unwilling
accept the systems, instead choosing an atypical approach to challenging popular beliefs and
doctrines. Whether it was through art, rhetoric or humility, this marginals observed the center as
outsider. They could see the full story. They could understand the complexity of the center, its
ability to draw in its prey, trapping it and eating it alive. Those embodying this space of
marginality can see how the center is a black hole, if there is no escaping it while already within its
depths, it must begin by those who have yet to become enticed by it. This is the job... Show more

An intellectual nonconformist avoids this manipulation at all costs. Pursue careers because that is
what excites you. Dress in whatever makes you feel vibrant, self confident and unique. Travel to
Machu Picchu because YOU want to, not because the guidebook says it s the #1 tourist spot to visit
in Peru. But, these are all practices of superficial nonconformity. The real grit comes when
individuals are challenged with systems, practices, religion, and doctrines as a whole that contradict
what might be morally right. But but since they are the mainstream, no one has the ability to
question them. As exemplified by Eichmann, the duty of controlling the trains that would inevitably
lead millions to their death was accepted by German society at the time. In fact, since his job was
instrumental to the Nazi party, he willingly went along with his daily duties. How could anyone else
in this instance not make the same mistakes as Eichmann and realize that being highly involved in
the murder of Jews is a bad thing? It takes someone who recognized that these orders and acts as
were just another metamorphosis of the center, luring people

Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on

absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way to
determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by
measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations
of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to
measure wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on
concentration (x axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an
educated guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that if we
use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an accurate
concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this lab failed to reject our
hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein concentrations. The standard curves are
drawn with a linear increasing slope. The Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the
concentration of an unknown concentration.

Introduction Colorimetric assay is a process determining the concentration of a chemical element or

compound in a solution
