The Importance Of Community In Our Town By Thornton Wilder
Somewhere there is a town where everyone s best friend is their next door neighbor. Everyone here
would always stop and talk about what is going on, no matter who you are. Such community does
exist, but only in the small town of Grover s Corners, New Hampshire. The value and importance of
community is shown in Our Town by Thornton Wilderusing repetition and pattern of events. A few
important times this is shown is the play is when Emily and George s disagreements with each
other help grow their relationship. When Howie Newsome greets neighbors while he delivers the
milk across town is a significant part of Grover s Corners community. Emily s death is also
meaningful to the community s connections to each other.
The value of community is shown when Emily would repeatedly argue with George but their
disagreements made their relationship better. One small disagreement between George and Emily
happened on their way home from school one day:
GEORGE. I don t mean the answers, Emily, of course not ... just some little hints ...
EMILY. Oh, I think hints are allowed. So ah if you get stuck, George, you whistle to me; and I ll
give you some hints. (29)
In this passage, Emily s hesitation shows she unsure if she is willing to help George with his work.
Emily does not affirm her disagreement with George mostly because she does not want him to
continue pleading for answers. Emily and George s arguments came up a few times throughout the
story:
GEORGE. Oh.. I don t think it s possible
Giovanni Di Bicci De Medici Essay
I chose to do my paper on Giovanni di Bicci de Medici due to the fact that I am an Accounting
major and am very interested in finances and the banking system. Giovanni de Bicci de Medici
was an Italian banker and founder of the Medici bank. Giovanni was born in 1360 and unlike his
descendants, Giovanni was not born into wealth. Giovanni was one of five in his family and after
his father, Averardo de Medici, died not much money was left to the family. Giovanni was also the
great grandson to another Averardo, who had served as Gonfaloniere in the 14th century.
The beginning of the Medici bank came underway through one of Giovanni s relatives, Vieri di
Cambio de Medici who was much richer than Giovanni s family. He was an Italian banker who ...

This huge account that the Medici bank was able to obtain was due to Giovanni s friendship with
Baldassare Cossa. Cardinal Cossa deserted his allegiance to Pope Gregory XII during the Western
Schism and convened the Council of Pisa. His main objective was to end the schism. They tried
deposing of Pope Gregory XII and Antipope Benedict XIII by electing another Pope, Pope
Alexander V in 1409. Gregory and Benedict ignored this decision, so now there were three popes.
Pope Alexander V died soon after which made way for Baldassare himself. Baldassare Cossa was
consecrated as Pope John XXIII in 1410. As friend and supporter of Baldassare Cossa, Giovanni
had previously loaned his money after Baldassare was imprisoned for accusations ranging from
murder to heresy to seducing women. Giovanni used this loan in his own advantageous way
because his reward for his help and loan was Pope John XXIII making the Medici Bank the main
bank for the papal accounts and business. The Rome branch now had control over the curial
affairs, all due to Giovanni backing his friend Baldassare Cossa or Pope John. The Roman branch
of the Medici Bank always returned higher profits than any of its other operations, at least 50% of
their revenues being the chief Papal

The Importance Of Life In Captivity For Animals
Life in captivity for animals is comparable in some situations to humans living inside of a prison.
The restrictions that are imposed on these animals while in captivity are unbearable living
conditions that affect the animal both mentally and physically. The animals understand that this
is not their home which leads to the breakdown of their psyche. One example of this comes from
a zoo in the United Kingdom. In the year 1979, the Bristol Zoo gained a new animal which would
become one of their biggest attractions. Misha the male polar bear caught the eye of the public
with his unusual and odd behavior. Researchers that studied animal rights in the late twentieth
century linked this behavior to Misha s enclosure at the zoo. Researchers came to the conclusion
that the prison like living conditions that Misha encountered was the cause of his psychotic
appearance. The public had described him as looking like a beast who was breaking down as a
result of the captivity instead of an average polar bear in a zoo. The zoo was able to view Misha
through surveillance during this entire process, similar to humans living in a prison or an asylum.
According to the article by Andrew Flack, Following media attention from animal rights
organizations and the media between 1985 and the early 1990s, Misha s psychotic appearance in a
repeatedly evoked image of the prisons and asylums of the past, where surveillance, spectacle, and
suffering collided to alter the natures of the beasts within
The Dangers Of Bottled Water
One day, someone, somewhere decided tap water wasn t enough; so they put it in a bottle. Most
people laughed at the idea of bottled water because water is almost free from the tap, why would
someone pay for it? People laughed at the idea of bottled water and asked if bottled air would be for
sale next. The plastic of the bottleslitters the planet, there isn t a dramatic taste difference, bottled
wateris more expensive, and tap water is more closely monitored ( The Story ).
Plastic bottles are one of the most common litter issues. Plastic bottles litter the land and waters of
Earth. More than half a billion bottles of water are purchased in the U.S. every week, this is
enough to circle the globe five times. Oil is used to make plastic bottles and ship them across the
world. Enough oil is used making plastic bottles each year to fuel one million cars. Then, eighty
percent of the bottles end up in landfills where they sit for thousands of years. Some of the bottles
we think are being recycled are actually just being shipped to other countries and thrown in their
backyards ( The Story ). By reducing the amount of plastic bottles used, this would clean up our
environment and preserve our Earth.
Many people may claim bottled water tastes better than tap water. Water can taste very different and
some people may be more sensitive to the taste ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To put this into perspective, a gallon of water is eighty nine cents more than a gallon of gasoline.
With that fact stated it leads to the question; why doesn t anyone ever gripe about the price of
bottled water (Bastasch)? Around the world, there are 2.6 billion people lacking sanitation and more
than one billion people lack clean drinking water (Standage). Although, there are cities spending
billions of dollars dealing with plastic bottles. This money could easily be used to better the world
and provide clean drinking water for everyone ( The
The Maze Runner, World War Z, The Hunger Games
Bravery Bravery is the theme that indicated in the texts The Maze Runner, Tomorrow When The
War Began, World War Z, The Hunger Games. These four texts has shown that sometimes it s a
risk to your own life to be brave. In the book The Maze Runner written by James Dashner, Thomas
woke up and finds himself amidst a group of men in large open spaces surrounded by huge
concrete walls that will lead him to the maze. It opens every morning and closes when the sun sets.
Later in the book, Minho and Alby (the two runners) went into the maze they didn t return on time
as usual. People were waiting for them at the gate including Thomas. At the last second they finally
came out, however Alby was injured and the gate was about to close. Thomas thought he had no
choice but to sacrifice himself for Alby. Thomas knew he had no choice. He moved. Forward. He
squeezed past the connecting rods at the last second and stepped into the Maze. Dashner want...

This idea was shown near the end of the film when Gerry sacrificed himself to help other people
by walking through all the zombies to get to another side of the hospital. This was to find the
right vials with the cure to help people hide from zombies. Then when he made it to lab and he
held up a sign saying TELL MY FAMILY I LOVE THEM to the security camera. He then injects
himself with one of the vials. He didn t know if it was the right vial but he takes a deep breath

Budget Variances
Instances where budget projections differ from actual revenue collections and spending are referred
to as variances. Budget variances can have a positive or negative mathematical sign and are
attributable to a number of factors. However, it is important to ensure that such variances are
minimal because they lead to questions regarding the quality and reliability of the budgetmaking
process. Knowing the sources of variances improves the accuracy of projections in future financial
periods (Parkinson, 2009). The first and biggest cause of budget variances is the reliance on wrong
assumptions. This applies to both business organizations and the government as well. For instance,
the national budget of a government is based on the assumption that

Since Redis is top dog concerning pace and execution, the database is best utilized when time is an
issue, including job administration, qeueuing, analytics and geo look.
Earlier version of REDIS had the facility of on disk storage but this was deprecated in recent
versions which provided persistence using snapshotting in which the data is persisted
asynchronously to disk from the memory. Currently its every 2 seconds. So we are risking a few

Best Used when you know the size of data which will be in future and can be used in applications
which use real time analytics.

Characters In Ella Enchanted
The character, Ella of Frell, in the film Ella Enchanted , is presented as a self reliant and an
independent woman in the scene where she meets Prince Charmont. Ella s character is portrayed
from the moment when Prince Char is being chased by his fans and runs into Ella, along with
saving her and himself from the crowd. The scene opens up with a full shot, which shows when
Prince Char is bustling away from his admirers and where Ella is also to be seen. This displays that
this film has incorporated what most teenage girls (in modern day) would probably do if they have
seen their celebrity crush. In this case, Ella wasn t part of the fandom, she was the type of girl who
didn t cherish the Prince, in fact, she despised him. Stating that in this
