Quotes From Touching Spirit Bear
Are you okay? After the tree was struck by lighting Cole looked into the darkness to see if the
baby birds were still alive. This is the first sign showing that Cole Matthews can change. Cole is
starting to have compassion, something he didn t have before. For this reason, Cole should go
back to the island and not go to jail. In order for Cole to heal, he needs to go back to the island and
be given a second chance of redemption. The power to choose was the real power, not the fake
power of making others afraid. Cole made his decision, He wanted to live. Cole wanted to live and
make new choices to make up for his bad choices. He didn t want to die because he couldn t make
any choices. In Touching Spirit BearCole says, In death there was no control, no anger, no one to
blame, no choices, no nothing. Cole kept showing that he wanted to live and change, even after the
mauling. In addition, Cole shows many more acts of survival, in order to survive.... Show more

Cole has to find it in himself to trust people and not lie. With his fingertips, he felt warmth. He felt
the bear s heartbeat. And he felt one more thing. He felt trust. Cole doesn t understand why he
feels trust. Cole tried to kill the bear, but yet the bear has trust toward Cole. Also Cole had, ...hated
it with every fiber of his existence. Even after he touched the bear Cole had a sensation. Cole
realized that the world was beautiful. Cole also realized that his past was another life, another life he
didn t want to recapture. This shows that Cole Matthews can
Tonya Harding s Attack On Nancy Kerrigan In 2003
Deception is not usually easy to detect, even if millions of eyes are watching the supposed
deceiver. This is especially true in the case of Tonya Harding. Harding is a former U.S. figure
skater whose reputation for being the first American woman to complete a triple axel is far
overshadowed by her assumed participation in an attack on fellow Olympic skater, Nancy Kerrigan
in 1994. Harding and Kerrigan both participated in the 1992 Olympics, where Kerrigan placed third
in the figure skating competition and Harding placed just behind her in fourth. The two women
competed against each other again in 1994 as they both fought for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
Less than two months prior to the Olympic games, Kerrigan was attacked during one of... Show more

However, most of the interviews that the public saw were conducted by television personalities
or reporters, not trained investigators. None of the interviewers appeared to impose cognitive
load on Harding. The questions were straightforward and did not pertain to any specific events.
Most of the interviewers questions pertained to Harding s personal feelings about the events;
fabricating personal emotions is less taxing than verifiable details or time and location specific
events (Vrij et al., 2011). The questions asked in interviews were also quite predictable and
scripted. This allowed for Harding to practice what she might answer to these questions and
planned lies are more difficult to detect (Vrij et al., 2011). Summary Although it is still not known
if Harding was fully involved in the attack on Nancy Kerrigan or if she had prior information about
the attack, she was at least deceiving the public by concealing information. Her assumed deception
was and still is difficult to detect. This is because there is no one cue that indicates deception. In
addition, myths and biases, unobserved and misleading cues, self deception, and a failure to use the
cognitive approach could have further complicated the process of deception
Scholar Practitioner Relationship Paper
Upon the first examination of the scholar practitioner, it seems clear that this role explores real
world solutions to problems rooted in research that effectively advances the literature of the field in
a timely, relevant manner (Short, 2011). But there is a natural almost co dependent relationship to
scholarship and practice that can be described as the joining of two areas that contribute equally to
the improvement of the given field of study (Snow, 2015). In consideration of this symbiotic
relationship between concept and practice, Nganga suggests that often that the relationship occurs
organically but grows as our interests and experiences evolve (Nganga, 2011). What is clear is that
there is no direct path to becoming a scholar
Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink
In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes love is worth
dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a play in which that theme was
made obvious. In the case of Tristan and Iseult, there are many versions of their love story. Most
versions result in their deaths because they cannot live without the other; however, some versions
leave one of the two alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story similar to
the ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of Tristan and
Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to emphasize different, distinct
themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which highlights the different themes that each
author hoped to draw attention to. The Love Drink by Sally Bridges mainly emphasizes the moment
when Iseultand Tristan drink from the bottle and fall in love with each other; Tristram to Isolt by
Madison J. Cawein is a story in which Tristan talks to Iseult after she is dead. Both stories focus on
different parts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cawein s Tristram to Isolt uses words which imply death that create an idea in the reader s mind
that the love between Tristan and Iseult is deadly and poisonous which is exactly the theme that
Cawin tries to focus on. Among these words are lines like a thing of Hell and sweet sin which
sound as if Tristan is calling his love for Iseult toxic (Cawein). The theme of love being morbid to
those with a faint grip on reality is pulled out through the way Cawein seemingly makes Tristan a
guy who loved a girl he knew would inevitably ruin his
Lisa Karpinski Case Study
I am Lisa Karpinski and prefer to be called Lisa. I recently obtained my associate degree in health
care business and am working in the prior authorization department of several local hospitals. Prior
to this I taught preschool for 7 years.
Changing to the health care industry was a difficult decision, but one that I am glad I made. As
budget decreases continued to happen I found I was no longer able to provide my students with the
amount of care and individual attention that they deserved and required. Knowing I no longer was
able to teach to the level I desired I decided to look at different career possibilities. Health care had
always interested me and I decided to go back to school for nursing. It took me one clinical rotation

Rhetorical Analysis Of Notre Dame
It was a clear afternoon on November 10th, 1928 when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team
took the field against the Black Knights of Army. Army was the number one team in the nation that
year, and Notre Dame was having one of their worst seasons ever under the leadership of legendary
coach Knute Rockne. At the end of the opening half, neither team had managed to score.
With his dejected players gathered around him in the locker room, Rockne congratulates them on
their performance in the first half and tells them, I guess we just can t expect to win them all (3). He
then recalls what the great All American running back George Gipp had told him as he laid dying in
a hospital bed. What he said next would go down as one of the most famous motivational lines in
sports history. Rockne describes how it was Gipp s final wish for a Notre Dame football team to,
. . . go out there with all they got and win just one for the Gipper (5). Using this as a rallying cry,
the Irish battled back in the second half and won 12 6. Rockne s use ethos, pathos, and logos
successfully inspired his players to an upset victory and still motivates people to this day. The
wording of the speech has a lot to do with the intended audience. Rockne is speaking to a bunch of
young men, some of whom are barely more than boys. He doesn t use any complex words or
phrases, which makes what he is saying easier to understand. That is the key to any good speech.
It doesn t matter what you talk about if no one can understand what you are saying Although
Rockne s speech is very brief, he manages to clearly establish his credibility, or ethos, on the topic of
speaking about George Gipp. Rockne states, None of you ever knew George Gipp. It was long
before your time. But you all know what a tradition he is at Notre Dame (4). Of all the people
gathered in the room, he was the only one to personally know Gipp, as he was his football coach
in the early 1920s and was present in the hospital when he died. He references Gipp s dying quote
by stating, . . . the last thing he said to me . . . (5). By stating that he witnessed George Gipp s last
words, Rockne early on establishes his credibility to the assembled players. By just barely stating
