Thesis On Rocket Nozzle
Chapter 1: Introduction 1.1)Thesis Structure This dissertation aims to provide an optimized shape
for rocket nozzle to minimize the variations in flow parameters like temperature, pressure, density
and Mach number. The total thrust produced by the rocket nozzle depends upon these parameters
and in order to obtain maximum thrust, it is necessary to make sure that the gas, expanding through
the nozzle, exits with maximum uniformity with minimum abrupt variations in temperature,
pressure, density and Mach number. The first part of this dissertation presents a method to design a
two dimensional contour of a rocket nozzle known as method of characteristics. Method of
characteristics is mainly a technique for solving partial differential equations. Typically, it is used to
solve first order partial differential equations, but in this thesis it is used to solve the velocity
potential equation which is a partial differential equation of hyperbolic nature.... Show more content

Some of the previous research in this field will be reviewed. Y. Perrot et al [1] showed in their
numerical investigation of turbulent boundary layer separation in over expanded supersonic nozzle
that very different shock structures and flow separation may appear depending on the contour of the
nozzle. Such flow separation creates abrupt variations in pressure along the length of the nozzle.
Furthermore, Onofri et al [2] showed that the shape of the nozzle has significant effect of the shock
structure specifically in case of separated flows. William et al [3], in their investigation of the cap
shock pattern in a rocket nozzle, pointed out that significant reduction in thrust performance of
launch vehicle results due to imperfect exhaust profile. They also mentioned in their investigation,
that the contour of the nozzle directly influences the shock structure and subsequent plume
U.s. Gross Domestic Product
hiding something behind the actual unemployment rate in America or people in America are still
feeling the effects of the 2008 recession. The housing market crash in the fourth quarter of 2008
may still be affecting many families today. Since consumer spending drives two thirds of the
economy, according to econoday, it also affects retail sales because when consumers are confident
in their economy, there are willing to buy more (Econoday: Consumer confidence ). This, in turn,
affects U.S. retail sales which is also a reflection of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product. These
indicators have a chain reaction because when one changes, it affects the rest.

According to Lynn Franco, she says that consumers are cautious heading into 2016 and expect little
changes in business conditions. Next year is definitely not looking very promising for the United
States.

Retail Sales Indicator The retail sales indicator measures the dollar value of merchandise sold within
the retail industry, which includes traditional retailers selling via internet but excludes companies
conducting non retail operations such as travel, ticketing, and financial services ( FAQ ). The retail
sales is a leading indicator because it gives us a glimpse of what we can expect in the following
months in the economy. It is important to keep in mind that leading indicators are not always
accurate and are subject to revisions. The retail sales indicator covers the previous month s data
and is typically released on or around the 13th of each month. The report is usually presented in one
of two ways: with auto sales being counted and without auto sales being counted since auto sales
can skew the data due to their high price ( Investopedia: retail sales , n.d.). Companies of all sizes
are used in the survey, from large corporations such as Wal Mart to independent mom and pop shops.
The methodology behind the survey is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S.
Department Commerce (United States Bureau: Monthly Annual retail trade: Annual retail trade
survey methodology , 2015).
The Live 8 Concert Of Hyde Park
On July 2, 2005, the Live 8 concert was held in Hyde Park with the goal of highlighting the
problems of poverty in the world (BBC, 2005, n.p.). On July 6, 2005, the Olympic Committee

leaders were gathering in Gleneagles, the G8 Summit (Report of the Official Account of the
Bombings in London, May 11, 2006). The citizenship was in high spirits. On the morning of July 7,
2005 four suicide bombers created chaos in the London Subway and the transportation system by
self detonating three bombs in the underground subway system and one bomb on a double decker
bus. This was an act of terrorism. The bombings cost the lives of 56 citizens including the four
bombers and injured over 700 (Report of the Official Account of the Bombings in London, May 11,
2006). Responding agencies and the health care system were quickly overwhelmed. The subway
system as well as above ground transportation in the Camden borough was shut down. Immediately
after the attacks, law enforcement and counterintelligence agencies initiated measures to identify the
bombers and to prevent any further attacks. The investigation included analyzing the events leading
up to the attacks, and the response during and immediately after the attacks. Through investigation
the counterintelligence community can identify measures that can be implemented to better respond
to the global threat of terrorism, such as the benefits of redundant
Anthrop Middle School Research Paper
Did you know that almost 28% of Americans don t know how to cook as Adults. Studies have
shown that many kids that learn to cook before adulthood are more likely to live a happier life.
Kids that know how to cook before they go off on their own, are less likely to eat the fatty
restaurant foods that are unhealthy for your body. Most people that know how to cook, prefer to
stay at home and eat home cooked meals, rather than drive out to a restaurant and eat there. Lathrop
Middle School needs a cooking club because, it can make kids smarter in the culinary area, it can
save money for kids in the future, and it can prevent future illnesses.
In our club we will cook foods chosen by students. We will make a plan on how we will cook it and
then the next day we will cook the foods in our groups. To find out how many kids would join the
club, I sent out a survey to ten sixth graders and 15 seventh graders. Responses showed that 75% of
people thought a cooking club was a good idea and 75% of people said they would be willing to
work in a group.

The Role Of Non Verbal Communication On Intercultural...
Introduction
With the development of cultural organisation, the intercultural communication has become more
ligual and more significant than ever before (Wang, 2007). As an international language, English has
played an prominent role in making the communication easy between two people with different
cultural backgrounds. As a result, the EFL education has concluded the communicative sufficiency
as one of the important goals of English as Foreign Language teaching. It seems that intercultural
communication will be a successful, as long as the speaker has achieved high qualification in the
enlish languag. As it is shown in many studies that the failure in understandings in intercultural
communication are largely based by the miscommunication of nonverbal behaviours (Arasaratnam
Banerjee, 2007; Ma, 1996). It is, therefore, significant to reach the awareness of the nonverbal
communication in the accessment of intercultural communication.
NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION This study goal is to examine the role of non verbal
communication in intercultural communication.particular,ly the study identifies the importance of
understanding and using non verbal behaviour in living and study in an English speaking country.
Moreover, the research reveals some difficulties that participants have encountered when they
communicate intercultural. These difficulties further suggest the need of incorporating skills of
nonverbal communication in to English language teaching is to enable English
Symbolism and Theme in Everyday Use
The short story Everyday Use by Alice Walker differentiates between a fake and a real heritage. To
illustrate her point she uses one family consisting of a mother and her two daughters and the way
each of them views their ancestry and heritage. Through the behavior of these three people Walker is
able to clearly show the little things that separate a real heritage from the assumed fake mask. During
the time of many positive changes to the lives of black people across the America, the author
illustrates what the true African Americanheritage should look like, compared to empty claims by
those who have no understanding it.
The first and perhaps the least complex of the symbols in the story is Mama s yard. In the very
beginning of the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the same time, judging from the way that Dee acts throughout her visit, such bonds to one s
heritage can be easily broken or even completely destroyed. And when these bonds are finally
destroyed it becomes impossible for people like Dee to understand the meaning of such little
objects like the quilts in much the same way as it is impossible for her to even understand the
origins and the legacy of her name. Again the history behind the quilts is really important so
Mama describes more of it: Bits and pieces of Grandpa Jarrell s paisley shirts. And one teeny
faded blue piece, about the size of a penny matchbox, that was from Great Grandpa Ezra s uniform
that he wore in the Civil War (495). Made out of many small pieces of Maggie s and Dee s
ancestors clothes, these quilts visually display the history of their family, including all of the
struggles such as war, racism and poverty experienced by its members over last century. What
makes these quilts even more valuable and important is the fact that because of her poverty Mama
considers her heritage, contained in the things like these quilts, as the most important material
object in her possession. Therefore she decides that the best way to honor this heritage would be to
pass them to Maggie to be used like they were intended to by those who made the quilts and the
legacy contained inside of them. The quilts then summarize the great and long heritage, passed on

How Did Ho Chi Minh Influence On Vietnam
My Cold War project is on Ho Chi Minh and the Independence on the Vietnam War. Ho Chi Minh
was an important leader in the Vietnam War. Many things happened leading up to the Vietnam War.
North and South Vietnam was divided. North Vietnam had a communist government. South Vietnam
had a democratic government. South Vietnamwanted Vietnam to be a anit communist party but North
Vietnam won the war. Today, Vietnam is a communist government with the help of their leader Ho
Chi Minh.
In Ho Chi Minh early life he was a very independent child. He was born on May 19, 1890 in
Hoang Tru, Vietnam. He died on September 2, 1969 in Hanoi, North Vietnam. In 1930, Ho Chi
Minh was the founder of the Indochina Communist Party. In 1941, he was also the founder of
Viet Minh. Ho Chi Minh was the president of North Vietnam from 1945 to 1969. For almost
three decades as a leader of North Vietnam he was one of the prime movers of the post World War
II and one of the most influential communist leader of the 20th century. From 1917 1923, Ho Chi
Minh spent six years in France and became an active socialist. In 1919, he addressed an eight point

Analysis Of Heidegger s Building Dwelling Thinking
After the destruction in Germany due to the World War 2, the struggle for survival and inhabitation
had been the most and immediate business for the people. The war caused the destruction of near
one fifth of the German houses between 1939 and 1945. In West Germany, there were required
almost two and a half million houses for the refugees and another million for younger families. It
was where the German philosopher Martin Heidegger s Freiburg and Black forest were located.
People shared accommodation there till they could find their own. Then arose the question of termed
as Wohnungsfrage that means Dwelling Question due to this housing crisis. In its response
Heidegger wrote his famous Building Dwelling Thinking .

In his essay, Heidegger discusses the type of dwelling which is poetic in a sense. He then questions
further that are the dwellings poetic in a true sense if yes then are other dwellings incompatible with
the poetic ones? He further questions about the coexistence of the man s social and historical life.
For Heidegger, poetry is the things that let the man dwell and dwelling is through building. He
believes that art of building is very much similar to the art of poetry. The way the verses in a poem
depict a simple fact in a really creative way is same as that of the technique of constructing a
building and then making the building alive by dwelling in that particular building. This philosophy
of Heidegger is reflected in his architectural design sense that he connects the building styles with
human life. This poem tends to remove the misconceptions that poems snatch away the realities of
this world or poetry is mere fantasy but it s not like that. Actually, poetry brings fantasy to life. Same
as the opposing above and below and belonging to each other; the writer sees different contrasting

Stereotypes In Paul Theroux sBeing A Man
There are two types of men portrayed by the media. There is the lazy dad who spends all day sitting
in the recliner eating potato chips and watching television. This man always has his wife taking care
of everything while he is a bumbling fool who can do nothing right. This man is harmless and
unintelligent. Then there is the actionhero man. This man has a rugged, muscular build and is
usually very attractive. He can accomplish any task using his fist, but struggles to think through
things logically. Every man sees these two stereotypes and begins to try to fit one of them. This
leads the man to ask himself the question What is a Man? . Being a man is not letting stereotypes
define him, standing firm in his convictions, but being accepting of others at the same time,
knowing when or when not to take action, and having a dream. If asked what does it mean to be a
man? the most common responses would be answers like protector, provider, and taking charge.
While there is inherently nothing wrong with these answers the real problem lies in the fact which
all men cannot live up to these standards. These men are left questioning themselves on their
masculinity. A man should not let stereotypes define him. Paul Theroux addresses many of the
common stereotypes in his essay Being a Man , I was told to take up a sport, get more fresh air, join
the Boy Scouts, and I was urged not to read so much. and
Being a drunkard is another assertion, if misplaced, of manliness... A man proves his manhood in
America in old fashioned ways. He kills lions, like Hemingway; or he hunts ducks. like Nathanael
West; or he makes pronouncements like, A man should carry enough knife to defend himself with,
as James Jones once said to a Life interviewer (Theroux). Theroux addresses these common
stereotypes to prove how futile they are. A man should not let other people s idea of how a man
should be influence them. Many of the stereotypes listed by Theroux are unfeasible and hard for
any man to accomplish, further adding to the futility of them. Scott Russell Sanders compares two
common stereotypes of men in his essay The Men We Carry in Our Minds . Sanders address the
stereotype of the rugged muscular man who works all of his life
Metaachromatic Leukodystrophy Research Paper
Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) is a disorder which results in the inability to break down
sulfatides in the lysosome of oligodendrocytes. The name is of greek origin, Leuko meaning
white, dys meaning lack, and troph meaning growth. As a Leukodystrophy, the name implies that
the disease is lacking growth in the white matter of the brain. The inability to break down
sulfatides in the lysosomal complexes of the cell lead to the degeneration of the myelin sheath
which are produced by oligodendrocytes. This disease is most commonly associated with the
inability to produce Arylsulfatase A (ASA), a protein that works to catalyze the breakdown of
sulfatides by hydrolyzing the 3 O ester bond [1]. MLD is commonly associated with infants as
most cases occur while the patient is young, typically from 12 20 months post birth. However,
Juvenile and late onset MLD also exists in which symptoms arise later on in life. The time of onset
depends on the type of mutation the individual has. Individuals with MLD suffer from demyelination
in the central as well as peripheral nervous system, the degradation of myelin cause nerve... Show

Although no treatment is known to completely halt the progress of MLT, there are ways to slow
the progression of the disease. Since the disease pathogenesis of MLD is still yet to be understood,
treatment can be tricky. Researchers are unsure when the ideal time of treatment is and are
concerned with safety issues when certain therapies are applied. These therapies will target a
specific part of the pathogenic aspect of the disease and some work better than others at different
stages [12]. Though treatment options are available to individuals afflicted with MLD, there is
currently no treatment that is able to completely stop the progression of the disease. There are
currently three ways to slow the progression of MLD, they are the Enzyme replacement therapy, the
stem cell based therapy, and gene
Accidental Death of an Anarchist
Q) Critically analyze the Figure of Madman in Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an anarchist.

A) Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970) lies in the category of
revolutionary theatre that challenges the fascist regime of Italy. The play is a farce based on
events involving a real person, Giuseppe Pinelli, who fell or was thrown from the fourth floor
window of a Milan police station in 1969. He was accused of bombing a bank. The accusation is
widely seen as part of the Italian Far Right s strategy of tension. Just like Fo s other play, this play
is also funny and subversive and shows a strong preference for the culture and traditions of the
ordinary people and a commitment to the left wing politics. The play ... Show more content on

He provides most of the humor content of the play. The madman is whimsical and he constantly
contradicts other characters as well as himself. His series of logical/illogical arguments becomes
impossible to tackle and it frustrates the Police Department. Even though being termed as
psychologically unfit, the madman appears to be the most intelligent character in the play. He
ridicules the police officials for missing out on the basic concepts of English grammar and the use of
the most important COMMA that changes the meaning of a sentence. He dictates the terms of law
and judiciary to police officials. He is extremely sarcastic. He ridicules the superintendent for
assuming the railway man planted the bomb in railway station without any substantiate evidence and
sarcastically rebukes the kindergarten logic .

The people in power appear to be inhuman and brute in their actions, and the sacred governmental
place, the police station appears to be a madhouse or a slaughterhouse. The madman, even though
he is mad appears to be the sanest character in the play. In fact, he appears to be directing the play
according to his wishes. Suffering from a disease
Effects of Gangsta Rap Essay example
Obviously rap music is too violent. It serves as a musical accompaniment to the entire underclass
culture of violence, says the author of See No Evil , David Klinghoffer, in an article in the
National Review. This extremely narrow minded philosophy has neglected to discover what rap
music really is and what it means to its millions of buyers, who are mostly of upper class status.
Rap is not only music, it is also a black cultural expression that prioritizes black voices from urban
America, and it is a form of rhymed storytelling accompanied by highly rhythmic, electronically
based music. Rap music is a form of art or expression like any other type of music. Rap music in

his death had and still have many people believing that rap music and the industry in general
played a part. Everyone that was against rap music used his death as an excuse to blame rap for
violence. They were saying that his violent lyrics are part of the reason that he was murdered. C.
Delores Tucker, a very famous anti rap music advocator, was quoted as saying Mr.Shakur always
talks about violence and now it has come back to him. What type of thing is that to say about
someone who has died? Shakur did talk about violence in a lot of his music but he also has just as
many positive lyrics. He has made songs about teen pregnancy, suicide, and one of his all time
bests was a song called Keep Ya Head Up. This is a song dedicated to black women. He tells the
black woman that he loves her and begs other men to honor and respect her as a mother,
sister,etc... The point of this brief on Tupac is that yes he talked about violence but rap music is
not to blame for his death. Shakur grew up in a terrible environment which caused him to have a
negative outlook on life. Tupac like many other rappers was educated and wanted to be positive all
of the time. He said, Yes, that s what I want to do. I want to move people. I want to heal them, but I
