The Negative Representation of the East in E.M. Forster’s...
In this paper I would like to argue that E.M. Forster s A Passage to India has represented the East in
a negative way. This is a traditional novel for exploring themes of racism and the effects of
colonialism. It deals with the tensions between India and the Britain during the British Raj in India.
The theme which determines the plot line of this novel is introduced in the beginning through the
conversation of Hamidullah, Mahmoud Ali and Aziz as They were discussing as to whether or no
it is possible to be friends with an Englishman. (5) It is this question which is the focal point of the
plot of A Passage to India. Can the East meet the West on a plane where each not only tolerates but
also appreciates the other? E.K. Brown is his essay Rhythm in E.M. Forster s a Passage to India
concludes that such a friendship is virtually impossible especially in India.
Apart from quoting Brown s point of view I have quoted various other critics including Edward Said
and Benita Parry to substantiate my claim. The racist attitude of the British toward the native
population and the oppression of Indians can be seen through the cruelty of Major Callendar, who
brags of torturing an Indian by putting pepper on his wounds is the most outrageous example. But
there are many others from McBryde s views on Indian s lust for white women, to Mrs. Turton s
foul ranting, to Mr. Turton s arrogance and Ronny Heaslop s ignorance. All of them except Fielding
assume that Aziz was guilty even before his
The Earth Is A System Response To The Climate Of The Earth
The climate of our planet is a system response to the geography, biosphere, anthropogenic activities
and occasional/cyclic geological/astronomical events.
Owing to the gigantic nature of the system, the Earth has a slow response time and manifests
differently in different parts of the world. And the spatial and temporal changes are miniscule,
making it difficult to comprehend the severity for an uniniated person, since these changes can be
easily lost in the noise of interannual variability. In this context, uninitiated include every person
who doesn t actively pursue information from peer reviewed and scientifically consistent sources.
For this reason, a clear and concise message needs to be sent to the uninitiated to make them ... Show

Las Vegas Shooting of 2017, websites such as Google/Facebook painted the wrong person as guilty
this was attributed to the results being displayed based on popularity and recency than on veracity,
serves as a fine example. The mistake has urged both Google and Facebook to enhance their fact
checking al gorithms by engaging more humans to review the news that has been marked
controversial. Further, the individuals should be encouraged to fact check and identify and mark
hoax messages. Similarly, the news disseminating websites can be provided a rating based on the
frequency and the trustworthiness of the news being published which can be viewed by the general
public. Thus, the resources should help the end user to weed out the untrustworthy information.

Apart from the truth of the message, the content of the message should resonate with the audience.
The message of climate change, though appears grim, should be given a positive spin such as, an
opportunity to switch to
(de)centralized carbon free energy sources or as an opportunity to provide clean water and clean
energy. Since the responses to messages invoking emotions of fear, guilt and ignorance are denial,
fatalism and apathy.
Music Impact On Music
Music is inevitable in our lives. It is an extremely common and accessible form of entertainment
that is used in various circumstances such as in a musical band, karaoke, as well as during
physical exercise (). Music today is also used as a therapy, which can effectively improve our social
and psychological outcomes, such as anxiety and depression that may cause from a tragic event. The
different styles of music elements applied to a song, such as the rhythm, tempoand melody, have a
role in impacting our emotional perception (). Music also has shown to be effective in affecting
one s behavior. Our choice of music can be a reflection of our personal attitudes (). Moreover,
dopamine, which is a neurotransmitter that plays a major role in our reward motivated behavior,
can be enhanced or attenuated through music listening in our brain, and hence, has an impact to our
sensations (VNS). Other than that, the stress related hormones that are produced in our body can
also be altered in response to music (). Music not only includes rhythm and melody, the lyrics of a
song could also be important to express the story of one s past experience and emotion(). The
purpose of the playlist created below is to motivate and encourage myself to become stronger, and
also to bring myself back to the past with the memories I left behind, as well as relieving my mind
and stress. All the songs chosen to be included in the playlist are from the music playlist in my

Bismark and German Terrority Expansion
In the fifteenth century there is also evidence of individual financial gain motivating territorial
expansion. The death of the Duke of Bedford must be understood as a big reason for the
Burgudian changing sides during Hundred the Wars. As Anne Curry points out from the Burgudian
perspective, Events following Bedford s death proved more difficult to deal with (Curry, A.
(2003), on A200 website, p.3). His death resulted loss of a strong leader English leader. However,
probably more important, as Bedford was married to Philip the Goods Sister Anne, the family
connection had been lost. Shortly after, in October 1435 Philip the Good signed the Treaty of
Arras and alliance, which ended a long rivalry, with the Armagnac s. It is clear Philip the Good
benefitted from this deal. The Treaty of Arras resulted in some French lands being given to Philip
the Good. In addition, he acquired greater power in these lands. As an extract from the Treaty of
Arras tells us, Philip was not required to do faith, homage, nor service to the king for lands and
lordships (Anthology, 2007, 1.12, p.34). So, with Philip not having to pay for his new territories,
it is highly likely the taxes paid in this French lands increased Philip the Good s wealth
considerably. Philip the Good probably believed once Duke of Bedford had died he had no moral
obligation to maintain the Burgundian alliance with England. As French had won key battles, he
probably decided the Treaty of Arras was a way of gaining

ABSTRACT
In the present work, PVA Ag nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant silver content
(0.4 wt. %) and with different time of reaction (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were prepared by chemical
reduction method. Structure, surface topology, photoluminescence and electrical properties of PVA
Ag nanocomposite were studied using x ray diffraction (XRD), electrometer, atomic force
microscope (AFM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the
prepared nanocomposites. X ray patterns showed the existence of Ag nanoparticles within the PVA
polymeric matrix with face centered cube (FCC) phase. It was found that the PL intensity for all
samples increases, while the root mean square (rms) roughness decreases as the time of reaction is
increased. Current voltage characteristics were analyzed to explore carrier transport mechanisms in
Ag PVA nanocomposite and the results showed that there is an improvement in the electrical
conductivity of the PVA Ag films and Frank poole emission is the prevailing transport mechanism
for all samples.

Manoeuvrist Approach, Mission Command And OODA Loopist...
In order to be able to answer on those questions it will be necessary firstly to explain basic theoretical
points about Manoeuvrist Approach, Mission command and OODA loop cycle. Throughout history,
military theorists and commanders have attempted to determine and define the most effective way to
defeat an adversary and achieve victory. British military doctrine defines this method as the
Manoeuvrist Approach or indirect approach, which main focus is basically on attacking enemy s
cohesion and will to fight rather than focusing purely on the destruction of his physical component.
The approach itself is based on manoeuvre theory, which relies on speed, deception, surprise, and the
application of firepower and movement or application of own strengths... Show more content on

OODA loop (observe orient decide act) is theory presented by American John Boyd and its
essence is to be faster through OODA loop cycle than the enemy. If we can consistently go
through the OODA cycle faster than the enemy, make faster decisions and act before him, we
gain an advantage and enemy loses his cohesion until he can no longer fight as an effective,
organized force. However, in order to be faster than enemy some preconditions have to be
achieved. Firstly, according to Boyd, only decentralized military with application of mission
command can have a fast OODA loop. Secondly, through decentralization, to operate successfully
in fog of war we need to accept confusion and disorder, and also to generate them. Thirdly, while
operating in confusion and disorder we need to avoid all patterns, recipes and formulas, because if
our tactics follow predictable patterns, the enemy can predict our actions and easily cut inside our
OODA Loop. And lastly, we should never do the same thing twice because even if something works
well for us once, by the second time the enemy will have
Compare And Contrast Mexica And Aztecs
Aztec
While the Aztecs were first traveling to the Valley of Mexico, they were influenced by the people
around them. They learned many skills that strengthened their abilities as warriors. Later in 1519,
while the Aztecs Empire was still, growing, Spaniards were eager to claim land for Spain in a hunt
for gold and other riches. The Mexica claimed that their homeland was a island in a lake called
Aztland, meaning the place of the white heron. The Toltecs had been the last of the powerful
Mesoamericans before rise of the Aztecs. Then, the battles began and while on the battlefield, the
Aztecs first made sure they kept control over the cities that the Tepanecs ruled. The Aztec forces

As a group, the pipiltin had the largest homes, ate the best food and wore the finest cloths.
Historians think that as many as 90% of the Aztec population were macehualtin. Some markets
became known for selling a particular item, such as wood products or cloth, and anyone could sell
goods they made or crops they raised at a local market. In their guest for more tribute, the tlatoani
of the Aztecs relied on the skill of their warriors. In the Aztecs, the children s life was surrounded by
work and chores, but the children thankfully got a well education. They had very high religious
instructions and at time the children had to go without food and cut themselves to offer their blood
to the gods.
Most historians agree that human sacrifice was part of Aztec religion. Humans had sacrificed each
other in Mesoamerica for thousands of years before the Mexica reached the Valley of Mexico.
Many physicians were skilled herbalists who specialized in the use of plant life to treat illness.
The Aztecs believed the universe had three distinct parts. At the top was heaven, which had up to
thirteen different layers and was the home of the gods. In daily life, the Aztecs worshipped a
number of gods and goddesses as many as two hundred. The Aztecs valued jewelry of gold and
silver, and art in

Minority Male Initiative provides a great model to research.

Cuyahoga Community College opened in 1963 as the state of Ohio s oldest and largest community
college. For more than 50 years, Cuyahoga has provided students with access to high quality,
affordable education programs and serves a population of more than 60,000 students. While
Cuyahoga Community College has had success with the majority of students that have matriculated
from the college, it noticed that a small yet detrimental portion of its population of African American
and Latino male students failed to complete necessary requirements of obtaining a degree or
certificate from the institution and needed to find a way to reach this
Antonio Lucio Vivaldi Inspiration
The renowned baroque composer, Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, was born on the 4th of March, 1678, in
Venice, Italy to Giovanni Battista Vivaldi and Camilla Calicchio. During childhood, he found
himself surrounded by his five siblings, Margarita Gabriela, Cecilia Maria, Bonaventura Tomaso,
Zanetta Anna, and Francesco Gaetano Giovanni Battista. Francesco, like Vivaldi, would find music
to be his calling. He would later teach a young Vivaldi the art of the violin. Vivaldi s younger years
were hard for him; he suffered from strettezza di petto, tightness of the chest; in other words, he had
asthma. His asthma would prevent him from playing any wind instruments for the rest of his life.
When Vivaldi became a young adult, he pursued priesthood, finally being ordained in 1703 when he

Vivaldi played a solo accompaniment excellently, and at the conclusion he added a free which
absolutely astounded me, for it is hardly possible that anyone has ever played, or ever will play, in
such a fashion (Johann Friedrich Armand von Uffenbach). Vivaldi composed the majority of his
works at the orphanage; over sixty religious vocal pieces, multiple sonatas and cantatas, and an
absolute multitude of concertos. He was appointed maestro de concerti (music director) in 1716,
after having been voted out of the position of maestro di coro (choirmaster) a year earlier due to not
matching standards. Of course, matching said standards was extraordinarily difficult as he had to
compose an entire concerto by every evening meal, a tall order for even the most prolific of
South Carolina Dbq
The Secession of South Carolina was on December 20th, 1860. This was when the state of South
Carolina drafted the Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of
South Carolina from the Federal Union this meant that South Carolina was repealing its ratification
of the U.S. Constitution. South Carolinadid this because they felt that the federal government of the
Union was not obeying the Constitution and going against it. They believed that the states had equal
and separate control of its own state and government itself, and they could also claim slaves as their
property and the constitution says that they have the right to do whatever they want with their
property. As for the repercussions of this South Carolina... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of them was that they were the first to fall in a line of dominoes in which more and more
states of the south will open their eyes and secede from the Union. As said by WIECEK,
WILLIAM M In it, the Carolinian accused the free states of violation or half hearted enforcement of
the Fugitive Slave Acts, tolerating abolitionists agitation, and electing a presidential candidate
pledged to eventual abolition of slavery therefore South Carolina declared itself an Independent
State, with full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do
all other acts and things which the independent states may right do (South Carolina Ordinance of
Secession (1860) 1). This quote explains to us that South Carolina seceded and left the union, for
these reasons. Now, in that time more states will see and realize that South Carolina was right and
that they shouldn t be the only ones that should leave the union but every slave state should leave the
union to create the confederate states of america. This was the beginning of the war and all there was
left to do was

Gifts under Muslim Law and the Requirement of Registration:
An analysis of Legal Provisions and the Case Law

Faizan I Nazar*

I. Introduction

Registration of some classes of documents is compulsorily required under the various statutes like
Transfer of Property Act, Contract Act etc. The (Jammu and Kashmir) Registration Act, Svt 1970
(1922 A.D) is a specific Legislation which under section 17 enumerates the documents which have
been compulsorily registered under the Act. The first class of document which is enumerated under
clause (a) sub section (1) of section 17 of the Registration Act (hereinafter referred as the Act ) is an
instrument of gift of immovable property . Thus as a general rule gifts relating to immovable property

V. Fakhr Jahan Begum and Others referred to Muhammadan law by Syed Ameer Ali and approved
the statement made therein that three conditions are necessary for a valid gift by a Muslim: a)
Manifestation of the wish to give on the part of donor ; b) The acceptance of the donee , either
impliedly or expressly; c) The taking of possession of the subject matter of the gift by the donee,
either actually or constructively.

According to section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act no rule of Mohamedan law shall be
affected by chapter VII of the Transfer of Property Act relating to gifts. It, therefore, follows that
an oral gift made by a Muslim is a valid gift and does not require registration, which otherwise is
not a valid gift under section 123 of the Transfer of Property Act.

In the context of sec.17 (1) (a) the pertinent question is about the applicability of the clause (a) to
written gift executed by a Muslim in the light of section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act and the
rules of Muslim law relating to gifts. The courts for a long time obscured the answer.

In Sankesula Chinna Budde Saheb v. Raja Subbamma, the Andhra Pradesh High Court, after
noticing three essentials of gift under the Muslim law, held that if a gift was reduced to writing, it
requires registration under section 17(1) (a) of the Registration Act. It went on to hold that even if
by virtue of section 129 of the Transfer of Property Act, a deed of gift

Negative Video Games
Playing video games are seen as an energizing part of the media scene and has encountered many
extensions as recent times. There has been a higher amount of kids who utilize video games in
many parts of the world, especially in the United States. Among kids in the United States, playing
hours of video games has expanded from 4 hours consistently in the 1980s. Now to around 13 hours
of every week as of current times. Video gameshave likewise taken the consideration of people in
general, especially by the discussions with respect to first individual shooter recreations.
Different investigations have demonstrated that fierce substance, in video games, desensitizes
players, such as kids and genuine viciousness. At the point when players progress toward becoming
desensitized, they tend to build their animosity and lessening their sympathy. Different analysts have
shown that playing video games among kids does not prompt huge forceful conduct. Since the
greatness of the impact in the meta investigation might be a result of distribution inclination.
Regardless of weight from different social orders, numerous computer games contain a lot of
savageries. Savage recreations are believed to advance sentiments of energy, fulfillment, and
