Other functions include planning of strategic goals and making sure they come to fruition,
controlling budget, weighing effectiveness vs. efficiency, and dealing with employees, customers,
and vendors. In essence, there is no specific agenda that can be adhered to on a daily basis, as the
environment of a manager constantly changes. A customer fire drill could arise (Eshelman, 2011); a
sudden change in the organization, budgetary cuts, and so forth. A manager constantly has to be
ready to change direction and still produce results. A bulk of the daily work load is spent on
managerial duties, such as dealing with the problems at hand (Eshelman, 2011), making decisions,
leading employees, and ensuring a natural flow of projects and operations. Two of the most critical
managerial issues Mr. Eshelman describes are budgeting and employee relations. The company must
have employees, products, and other resources to run the business in a profitable manner. It is a
manager s responsibility to weigh the balance of effectiveness vs. efficiency and profit vs. loss on a
constant basis. When certain budgetary allocations change, the manager needs to find alternatives
and put plans into place to reduce cost but still maintain profitability and productivity. In Eshelman s
opinion, the three most important manager skills to possess are the ability to make impromptu
decisions, have technical competency,

Analysis of Shakespeare s powerful female characters in the play Much Ado about Nothing and
King Lear
Introduction
Shakespeare is seen to value the role of women as his plays often portray women as heroines.
These women have strong characters that endear them to readers. Readers in our current world,
and especially women, are encouraged to be self assertive in demand for equal treatment in our
society. This has been the tradition for women in the Western world and is one that should be
spread across all societies in the whole world. The characters that this essay chooses to analyze are

Beatrice is the cousin to Hero and niece to Leonato. She is a strong female who is smart and loyal
to her family. We get to see that she has sworn off love in her adult love as she was hurt before and
does not want to be vulnerable. However, she approves the love of her cousin Hero (Everett 400).
As the play continues, we get to see that her strong stand against love is broken as she starts
falling in love with Benedick, who matches her speech and wit, and is also as stubborn as she is.
Beatrice has a sharp tongue and is good with words. She knows how to say what she wishes in a
sharp and yet merry tone. When one soldier mentions that Benedick s name when talking about
leaving for war, Beatrice quips that he is a poor soldier. She goes on to joke that Benedick
attaches himself to people and in this case Claudio by taking him as a brother. When Benedick
arrives in Messina, Beatrice engages him in jokes. In Act 1 Beatrice states I wonder that you will
still be talking, Signore Benedick; nobody marks you. (Shakespeare 5). Benedick responds by
saying What, my dear Disdain, are you yet living? (Shakespeare 5). Here we see that the two
match each other in their manner of speech. The readers are able to notice the perfect match of
these two characters. Beatrice is also seen as being loyal to her family. There is a scene at the altar
on a wedding day where Hero, the bride, is accused
Maine, Canada And All Along The Eastern Coast Of The...
I want to take a few minutes to empty my brain of all things regarding a place I hold very dear to
my heart. I ve traveled a fair amount for the short time I ve spent on this earth. I ve been to Spain,
France, Jamaica, Canada and all along the eastern coast of the United States, but one of my
favorite places to be was a mere four minutes away from my house. Hallowell is a small town of just
over 2,000 people in Central Maine. The overwhelming quantity of memories I ve made there
multiplies the infectious positivity that radiates from Hallowell, and has played a major role in
who I have become. Of the people I ve encountered here in New York, people have a preconceived
belief that Maine shouldn t ever be a topic of conversation, because there s nothing there to even
talk about. They are extremely mistaken. Whenever possible, I do whatever I can to show people
Maine is an amazing place to live, as well as a place to put on their bucket list of visits.
Maine has a ton to offer, and you can find a whole lot in Hallowell. It is located adjacent to the state
capital, Augusta, which keeps you close to all the shops you need, without forcing it upon you.
When you enter the town of Hallowell, from any direction, the speed limit undoubtedly drops to 25
due to the amount of people walking around at any time. The town is condensed into a small area,
keeping a small community tight, where many prefer to walk around rather than drive. As you enter
Hallowell via the Rail Trail , which is
Essay about The Virginian Revolution
Virginia s way to the American Revolution
Woody Holton. Forced Founders: Indians, Debtors, Slaves and the Making of the American
Revolution in Virginia. Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 1999.
In his book Forced Founders Indians, Debtors, Slaves and the Making of the American Revolution
in Virginia Woody Holton tries to give a study of some (not all) of the causes (not the effects) of
Virginia s Revolution. He argues that the Virginia elite were important as leaders of the
Independence movement, but were also powerfully influenced by other forces such as British
merchants, Indians, farmers and slaves. Woody Holton argues that the Virginia gentry was influenced
by those four groups, and that the gentry was even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gentry of Virginia was not pleased with this decision, since they invested in the land and were
now legally hindered to sell it. Other settlers, like squatters, just settled there, but the gentry had to
respect the resolution of their own Privy Council. So they started to petition the Council, but without
success. Holton argues that the Indians were able to influence the British government to a certain
point not to allow American settlers to settle in the Ohio Valley, because the British simply did not
want to spend money for British troops that would eventually have to protect the settlers from Indian
assaults. They hoped to prevent a new costly war in America. The problem for the gentry was that
the Virginia Executive Council had no choice but to void the hundreds of surveys that had been done
for Virginia speculators and to put a halt to further surveying. This setback only intensified the
speculators effort to persuade the government to let them have Kentucky and the adjacent region.
But the British government did not repeal the act. This caused many of the gentry s members who
speculated for land in Kentucky to be displeased and lose a great deal of money. Holton gives
numerous examples of gentry members that were affected by these circumstances, including Thomas
Jefferson and George Washington.

Spiritual Courage And Illness
After scanning the web, I wanted to know what some of the people around me thought of the
word. I first went to Mr. Farrow and asked him a few questions. My conversation with him was a
bit scattered and I found he had a hard time staying on topic, but he gave me some good viewpoints
to his outlook on courage. I began with How do you see this word affect your personal life, his first
response to my word was I m so sick of the word courage because it s so overused. From that
statement I knew this interview was going to be a lot different than the other because of how
eccentric Mr. Farrow can be at times. He then continued on by saying, I think the key to
understanding courage is to think about it in the context of bravery. One can be brave,... Show more

I went to WorldCat.org and typed in courage. There was nearly 40,000 choices of books that had
to do with courage. I was astonished by the results, so I narrowed my search to see what the
majority of them are based off of. I discovered that The two main types of genres were Fictions
and Biographies. This is understandable because I would assume that people would want to share
and write about true stories of other peoples courage. These books usually tend to be very moving
to some because its staggering what some people have been through. For example, the book
American Sniper, by Chris Kyle; it was so popular that they made a movie on the courageous life
story of the American solider. There were also more books geared towards
Tonya Harding s Attack On Nancy Kerrigan In 2003
Deception is not usually easy to detect, even if millions of eyes are watching the supposed
deceiver. This is especially true in the case of Tonya Harding. Harding is a former U.S. figure
skater whose reputation for being the first American woman to complete a triple axel is far
overshadowed by her assumed participation in an attack on fellow Olympic skater, Nancy Kerrigan
in 1994. Harding and Kerrigan both participated in the 1992 Olympics, where Kerrigan placed third
in the figure skating competition and Harding placed just behind her in fourth. The two women
competed against each other again in 1994 as they both fought for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
Less than two months prior to the Olympic games, Kerrigan was attacked during one of... Show more

However, most of the interviews that the public saw were conducted by television personalities
or reporters, not trained investigators. None of the interviewers appeared to impose cognitive
load on Harding. The questions were straightforward and did not pertain to any specific events.
Most of the interviewers questions pertained to Harding s personal feelings about the events;
fabricating personal emotions is less taxing than verifiable details or time and location specific
events (Vrij et al., 2011). The questions asked in interviews were also quite predictable and
scripted. This allowed for Harding to practice what she might answer to these questions and
planned lies are more difficult to detect (Vrij et al., 2011). Summary Although it is still not known
if Harding was fully involved in the attack on Nancy Kerrigan or if she had prior information about
the attack, she was at least deceiving the public by concealing information. Her assumed deception
was and still is difficult to detect. This is because there is no one cue that indicates deception. In
addition, myths and biases, unobserved and misleading cues, self deception, and a failure to use the
cognitive approach could have further complicated the process of deception

Archaeology
Archaeology helps us understand world history by showing us how the ancient groups of people
lived before us. They do this by reviewing artifacts left behind by the people of the past. This
special branch of study helps us grasp a vast majority of the events that happened before us.
Remains left behind are evaluted and preserved to be showcased for future refrences and to give us a
look in on who they were.
Geography
Geography helps us understand world history by teaching us about the Earth and all of its many

Long-Term Effects Of Divorce
Divorce
40 to 50 percent of marriages end in divorce (American Psychological Association, Paragraph 1),
with 2nd marriages having a 60 percent chance, and 3rd marriages having a 73 percent chance
(McKinley Irvin, Paragraph 3). That number is expected to rise through the years, and at the same
time marriage is expected to slightly fall. Since 2001, marriage has either fallen a slim or stayed
consistent, while divorce has been on a steady climb. With 876,000 divorces a year (McKinley
Irvin, Paragraph 5), there s no doubt that it can have some long or short term effects on people.
With children having a higher probability of being in poverty, having behavioral problems, and
performing less well in school (JRF Paragraph 5), what effects does divorce ... Show more content on

Academic problems, Behavior problems, Regression to previous and younger habit, Feeling of

time of separation (Divorced Moms.com, Paragraph 7). Showing that short terms can be very
harmful to children just as much as long term effects. With short term effects, it can down the line
lead to long term effects on the child or children. With academic problems comes less well in
school, with short term behavioral problems, comes long term behavioral problems. ...there are a

even worse. With short term effects having a harsh turn on the kid(s), it should be noted that long

Moreover, organizations often view political factors affecting the business as extremely important. In

The Importance Of Climate In Canada
Quebec has a humid continental climate, with four distinct seasons having warm to occasionally hot
and humid summers and very cold and snowy winter. The seasons include spring, summer, fall, and
winter in which are differentiated according to the brightness, temperatures, and precipitation of
snow and rain. Winters are long and cold, with January temperatures averaging 15° to 9° C.
Summers are warm and short, though longer than in most other parts of Canada. July temperatures
average 16° to 21° C. Precipitation totals 900 to 1100 mm a year, including large amounts of snow.
A sub polar climateoccurs in the central and southern parts of the Canadian Shield. Here winters are
long and severe, and are one of the coldest in Canada and summers
