Arguments Against The Existence Of God
One argument that is often presented against the belief of Christians, more precisely that of the
existence of God, is the problem of evil; and many apologists have continued to counter the
questions and disputes. The problem of evil suggests that, if God truly exists, and is in fact good,
then the evil we see in the world would not exist. How could a good Godallow the rape of women
and children? Or, how can a good God see the poverty and starvation of millions around the globe
and do nothing? These are just a couple of questions among many. Two apologists, David Hart and
Alvin Plantinga have addressed this issue that plagues many, both in the minds of unbelievers, as
well as believers. To explore the approaches of each of these men, let... Show more content on

It is humanity, the sinfulness, the fallen state, that provides the explanation for evil and
ultimately for death. David Hart gives the bluntly stated point of view that death has no purpose.
Scripture tells us that death is an enemy of God. One aspect of these evils that was not addressed
was the use of them by God to further His purpose. Perhaps this is where the routine Christian
response is birthed. We see in some area of Scripture where God used these things such as the
death of the first born in Egypt as an example, and other plagues; or perhaps we could look at the
fire and brimstone that fell upon Sodom and Gomorrah. These were used, by God, as both
punishment and as a sign to His authority. The philosophers seemed to answer the question of evil
in general, and harmonized in their account. However, it is important for us to understand that some
things such as the death of the firstborn of Egypt, both elderly and infant, was at the direction and
command of God. Evil, it would seem, at least in some regards, is in the eye of the
The Structure Of Our American Government Essay
The structure of our American Government, was founded in the Constitution of the United States.
The Constitution was written to be the supreme law of the land , and creates a federal democratic
republic, where citizens govern themselves (Our American Governement, n.d). The purpose of our
government, is to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense,
promote the general welfare, and secure the blessing of liberty to ourselves and our posterity (Our
American Government, n.d.). For our country to achieve this purpose our Founding Fathers created
three main principles, inherent rights, self government, and separation of powers(Our American
Government, n.d.). Government was developed to ensure order in society and protect its citizens,
but with all systems there are strengths and weakness, let s examine those strengths and weakness.
Let s first look at the strength and weakness of the U.S. Constitution.
U.S. Constitution With the U.S. Constitution one of the strengths is how it divides federal powers
between three main branches, legislative, executive, and judicial. Which is defined by the
separation of powers doctrine, and provides a system of checks and balances to prevent one branch
from overpowering the other. This is why separation of powers is important because if one person
had unlimited power, then others would be suppressed. The separation of powers divides certain
tasks among the three branches so that they can check
There Is No True History Of The Westward Expansion Summary
In the text, There Is No True History of the Westward Expansion, written by Robert Morgan he
tells how he believed that there were villians and heroes in the westward expansion. The white
men were the so called heroes , whereas the Indians were thought of as the villains in the expansion
westward. In the text Chief Joseph Speaks..., by Chief Joseph he believes otherwise. The white
men are in the wrong to think they can just come into someone else s territory and expect them to
leave their homes. The Indians did nothing wrong, they can t be the villains. In Chief Joseph
Speaks..., Joesph states, On account of the treaty made by the other bands of the Nez Perce the
white man claimed my lands. We were troubled with the white men crowding over the line. Some of
them were good men, and we lived on peaceful terms with them, but... Show more content on

Yes the white men did try to pay for the Indians removal but that s the only thing that they tried to
help them with. Chief Joseph stated, They stole a great many horses from us and we could not get
them back because we were Indians. The white men told lies for each other. They drove off a great
deal of our cattle. Some white men branded our young cattle so they could claim them. This quote
shows how the white men treated the Indians badly even though they never fought back against
them. After everything the white men did to the Indians, Morgan still believed that the white men
were the heroes in this event. The white men came into the Indians territory and stole their cattle
along with many other things and then expected them to just give up their land. The Indians play
the role of the helpless sheep in the pasture while the white men play as the wolves that never get
caught. The white men are seen as heroes for conquering and settling a newly found land but the
Indians had to pay the price by losing their
Baron Monstesquieu and His Idea of the Separation of...
Baron Monstesquieu and His Idea of the Separation of Powers The separation of powers, originally
established by Baron Montesquieu in De l Esprit des Lois (1748) can be seen as an integral part of
any constitution. Montesquieu voiced the necessity for a separation of the primary three bodies: the
executive, the legislature and the judiciary.

In Lord Woolf s statement: The separation of powers has never been part of the framework of our
unwritten Constitution. He is clearly stating that he believes that under the constitution of the United
Kingdom there are important departures from the classic doctrine, and the separation of powers has
never been a basis on which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This of course is a clear breach of Montesquieu s doctrine.

This led Lord Hailsham to refer to the arrangement (A Government with a majority) as an elective
dictatorship . However, although it is a clear breach, it may be noted that out of 659 MP s only
approximately 100 are Cabinet Ministers, so the Government are outnumbered in any case.

To a large extent, the judiciary form a separate body from both the executive and the legislature. It
has been said, that as the United Kingdom has an unwritten Constitution we have a need for trust
and accountability in our public bodies and another need to enhance the credibility and effectiveness
of our public institutions. This is further recognized by Lord Steyn: Central to the Rule of Law in a
modern democratic society is the principle that the judiciary must be, and must be seen to be,
independent of the executive. However, although this has been firmly established, judges are
appointed by Her Majesty after consultation with the
Economic And Political Challenges Facing China
Having a historical record of over three thousand years, China is considered as one of the few
countries with a significant continuous civilization. Before the twentieth century, it was under the
rule of various dynasties. The Xia dynasty was the first dynasty to rule in the country (Tanner 35).
The bureaucratic systems of these regimes resulted to the agrarian civilization that was much better
off than the existing nomadic cultures. Through the entire period from the 1990s, the country has
regained its effectiveness towards both legal and economic reforms prioritized by the government,
enabling it to focus more on the improvement of criminal law system as well as in the modernization
of the legal personnel (Niu and State Information... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the recent past, China s economy has grown at a high rate attracting the attention of the foreign
investors. Its gross domestic product has also been high, with the year 2014 recording the highest
figure of over ten percent of the world s economy. The overall structure of its economy has also
improved; the unemployment rates have gone down with prices rising at a moderate rate. It is
always clear that with a high rate of unemployment within a country, the income levels also tend to
be low affecting the living standards of the people, which in turn results to lower productivity levels
in the country. Regardless of maintaining a positive balance of payments, the country s economy
also faces some challenges. China s economy is facing economic challenge regarding possibilities
of deflationary risks (Mulroney 15). Its economy is also experiencing relatively high costs incurred
during the financing of the enterprises. The local governments are overburdened with massive
amounts of debts that need to be clear. All these challenges are slowing down the rate of its
economic growth.
Politically, the communist party forms the nation s founding and the ruling party in the modern
society. A large number of the party members, approximately eighty six milling gives it the power to
influence various policies not only nationally but also internationally. One of the most pressing
issues that the
The Early Influences of Rome
The early influences of Rome, according to the text, were the people of Etruia and Greece. It is
said that it all started in the southernmost Etruscan centers[1]. These places, Caere, Tarquinii, Vulci,
and Veii, were the first city states to be formed. It wasn t long before the great city of Rome would
rise. In this essay, we will briefly comment on the founders of Romeand their influences. Taking
each part of history step by step hoping to uncover the secrets of Rome s first steps towards
become a great empire. The first thought of discussion will be on the Etruscans, the people of
Etruia. The Etruscans played music, danced, did acrobatics, and held foot and chariot races[2]. This
group of people were incredibly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were however, other things besides religion and grammar that Rome received; things like the
Etruscan games are one of the many things that Rome adapted from its neighbors. The Etruscans
influence on Rome had to do with location. Towards the end of the 7th century BCE, the Etruscans
expanded their territories. Their territories included Northern Italy, with the Po Valley league, and
the Etruscan city states controlled areas over Latium, which also included Rome and Campania to
the South. Hence the evolution of influence begins. In Livy, Romulus mentions one of the Etruscan
influences, I am inclined to agree with those who think that as a class of public officers was
borrowed from the same people from whom the sella curulis and the toga praetexta were adopted
their neighbors, the Etruscans so the number itself also was taken from them. In this quote, not only
does Romulus mention the influence in clothes but the influence in government as well. The
number he mentions at the end of the quote has to do with twelve lictors he called to service. A
lictor is a public officer who attended on the chief Roman magistrates... the office of lictor is said to
have been derived by Romulus from the Etruscans.[10] The twelve lictors were responsible for
passing judgment on criminals after a trail. This included Roman citizens, foreigners and slaves as
well. Government was in fact another thing

A Child s Purity: Further from Death, but Closer to Heaven.
Throughout the recorded history of the Christian religion, countless writings, both canonical and non
canonical, have been discovered and translated. As is the issue with most religious texts, scholars
fiercely engage each other s interpretations and opinions regarding these texts. The Gospel of
Thomas is no different. Considered Gnostic by some and canon by others, the Gospel of Thomas is
a collection of sayings that were spoken by the living Jesus, and recorded by Didymos Judas Thomas.
Throughout the length of the text, there are a number of common themes; the most notable being
the idea that the people look to Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Satiating the lust of the flesh is frowned heavily upon in most religions. Because Adam and Eve
gave into this temptation, all humans are born with some semblance of the original sin.
However, the blank slate nature of a child is as close to perfect as one can hope to be. Many of
Jesus s sayings in the Gospel of Thomas suggest that children, babies in particular, have
everything they need to be almost perfect; for they are born with that of the light of the Father,
and therefore hold some divinity (Litwa, 2015). Jesus tells his disciples that circumcision is not
useful, for if it was, the Father would have made babies circumcised. Jesus says congratulations to
the poor and the meek, for the Heaven s Kingdom shall belong to them. A child a baby is nothing
if it is not poor and meek. A child has done nothing, earned nothing, and truly cannot be anything
other than poor, and meek. It is with age, and sin, that a child loses their sight of the path to
Heaven. At several points in the text, Jesus talks about the intrinsic war between father and son,
and the necessary hatred for one s parents. It is entirely possible that Jesus could be describing the
struggle that a good child faces in attempting to separate themselves from their parents, who have
become old and deep in sin. Jesus speaks of an anecdote about a slave being unable to sever two
masters, for he would be
