Polycystic Kidney Syndrome Essay
PKD is also known as polycystic kidney syndrome. it is a genetic disease in which abnormal cysts
develop in the kidneys. Cystic disorders can be seen even after a few weks of birth. This disease
also occurs in some animals such as british short hair, selkrik rex, Scottish fold, the birmen, devon
rex, maine coon. PKD is identified by the presence of multiple cysts which is why it is called
polycystic . these cysts are filled with fluid which causes the increase the size of kidney.
Polycystic kidney disease is passed through inheritance to generations. In US the rate of this disease
is more. It affects both men, women, and even the animals as we studied above.

we can say genetic mutation can be the cause of the disease. But this is seen in a very rare case. This
causes growth of kidneys which finally leads to kidney failure. There are two types of PKD
causedfor the people, and they are as follows:
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). symptoms of ADPKD are developed in
the adulthood mainly above the age of 30. Earlier it was called adult polycystic kidney disease,
excluding the fact that children can also develop the disorder which was not known.children do not
show symptoms very early.
Even one among the parent had the disease which is enough in order to pass to the children.
Basically if one parent has ADPKD, every child has a 50 percent chances for getting this disease.
This is the main reason for many casesnoted until date.
Autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD). ARPKD is not more common than
ADPKD. symptoms are shown very early in a child affected with ARPKD. Appearance of signs and
symptoms until later in childhood or during adolescence is seen in rare
Fire Stages
The four stages of fire are Ignition, which is where fuel, oxygen, and heat join together in a
sustained chemical reaction. Growth, which uses the initial flame as a heat source, more fuel ignites.
Convection and radiation ignite more surfaces. The size of the fire increases and the plume reaches
the ceilig. Hot gases collect at the ceiling and transfer heat, allowing all of the fuels in the room to
come closer to their ignition temperature at the same time. Fully Developed, is when the fire has
spread over much if not all available fuel, temperatures reach their peak, resulting in heat damage,
and all of the oxygenis rapdily consumed. The final stage is Decay (Burnout), which is where the
fire consumes all available fuel left, temperatures... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Powell used 10 gallons of gasoline to ignite the fire, two five gallon cans were found in the home.
One of the cans were found with the bodies, and the other can was believed to have been used to
spread troughout the house. There were accelerants all throughout the entire house. This is
believed to be premeditated because Powell sent emails to family, friends, and his attorney
forshaddowing his plans. Powell gave the children s toys away a few days before their day for
visitation. Investigators believed that the point of origin started somewhere near the center of
the home and was set immediately after the children entered the house. Powell s breaking point is
believed to have been at the las cour hearing where the judge ordered the Coxes to retain custoday
of the children and also ordered Powell to undergo a psychosexcual evaluation before he could
recieve supervised visitation once a week. More damaging evidence was found on Powell s home
computer, where investigators found child pornography. The final piece to the Powell puzzle was
that when Braden was 2 years old, during a preschool summer camp, he drew a picture of a
camping trip. In this picture he drew both he and Charlie in the back seat, Josh was driving, and his
mother Susan was in the trunk. When he was asked why she was in the trunk, he simply said that he

Arthur Radebaugh s All-Seeing Eye Police Department
In the 20th century, one particular vision for the future that wowed audiences for generations was
the concept of a state of mass surveillance. This would be a society in which members of the
public could be watched at any given point in time. In 1960, an artist by the name of Arthur
Radebaugh drew a comic that was reflective of this theme. As it is aptly titled, the All Seeing Eye
PoliceDepartment depicts police officers at a futuristic precinct, as they monitor several screens
showcasing live closed circuit television(CCTV) camera footage (Novak). In the comic, the
dispatch police officer appears to be pointing at one of the screens and giving an order perhaps he
is witnessing a crime in progress and he is sending out the appropriate... Show more content on

By comparison, in Radebaugh s comic, the CCTV camera is the only highlighted piece of
technology used for surveillance. With respect to real world alternatives, the wiretapping of
phones was an approved police practice in the U.S. as of 1928 (Harris). With the use of CCTV
cameras, the police usually have to wait for a privately owned business to hand over their
surveillance footage after a crime has been committed. In contrast, with the use of wiretapping,
police can adopt a more proactive approach, as they can listen in on the phone conversations of
suspicious people, and they may be able to catch them before a crime even takes place.
Particularly, wiretapping is prevalent in U.S. narcotics cases. In 2010, a wiretap was used in order
to get a conviction for the Dominguez drug smuggling organization, as two defendants in the case
were recorded as they were clearly arranging a cocaine deal (McCombs). The prosecutors were able
to convict the drug distributors only because the defendants made their intentions plainly obvious in
the recorded phone call. Meanwhile, Radebaugh s comic forgot to consider that while CCTV
cameras can be extremely useful, when using them it is very difficult to identify the underlying
criminal intent, as only the criminal act itself is on display. As it has been
Observation And Requirements Gathering Of A Workout App
Observation and Requirements Gathering
Introduction
The purpose of the report is to gather beneficial information that is important to the user of a workout
app, such as features, usability, and functionalities.
Method
Five people provided interviews to gather the user observations. All five of these people enjoy
exercising on a daily basis. The group is comprised of three men and two women. All were
interviewed in person with pen and paper for data gathering. The data that was gathered was then
interpreted into needs and from that a survey was developed.
Results
The questions in Appendix A could get the most out of users because they cover all aspects of
design and they are simple. The most common feature in the app was music control. It would be
more convenient for the users to access and control their music directly in the app without having to
access their devices native music app. One particular item of interest is the fact that no one
mentioned anything about social media connectivity. Some of the features discussed were GPS
tracking, music control, workout comparison and goal metrics.

Archetypes Shadow In Lord Of The Flies
In the novel, Lord of the Flies, the author, William Golding, shows the character archetypes
shadow and the stern parent through the characters, Roger and Ralph. Roger becomes the role of
the shadow when he destroys the littluns sandcastles and throws rocks at Henry. When Roger and
Maurice are relieved from fire duty, they head to the beach for a nice relaxing swim in the ocean
after hours of caring for the fire. When they arrive at the beach, Roger makes a last minute decision
to destroy the littluns sandcastles with Maurice following. Roger feels no remorse as he charges
straight through the castles, kicking them over, burying the flowers, scattering the chosen stones.
(79) The shadow of the dark side is known for having traits of an antagonist, which entails having to
commit a literary conflict and have an overall negative presence. Roger meets the criteria by
destroying the littluns sandcastles for no reason other than his own twisted enjoyment. Although
Roger feels no shame in destroying the sandcastles, Maurice on the other hand felt the unease of his
wrong doing. (80) Even though there is no one to punish Maurice and Roger, Maurice feels guilty
and ashamed while Roger is amused and unrepentant. The fact that Roger only feels sorry when
there is someone who can punish him effectively proves Golding s theory that people are inherently
evil. In addition to Roger happily smashing the littluns sandcastles, he goes out of his way to then
mess with Henry.
Why Is The Simpsons Popular
The Simpsons is an outstanding animated sitcom that made the cover of Time Magazine. It also
received four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program, and broke the Guinness world
record for longest animated show with twenty seven seasons so far. The Simpsons was created on
December 17, 1987 by Matt Groeningas a cartoon on The Tracey Ullman Show. Matt Groening
started out as a cartoonist for a comic called Life In Hell, and when he was called for an interview
for The Tracey Ullman Show, he quickly thought of the Simpsonsbecause he didn t want his old
comic to be owned by someone else. In 1989, Danny Elfman composed the show s theme tune in
just two days. With a great animator, awesome music, and a brand new idea, The Simpsons was
ready to become one of the most successful shows in history.... Show more content on

The characters of The Simpsons are mostly yellow because an animator had given Matt the idea,
and he thought it was brilliant. This is the answer, he said, When people are flicking through
channels and they see a flash of yellow, they ll know that they re watching The Simpsons. The main
characters of The Simpsons consist of Homer, the father, Lisa and Bart, the brother and sister,
Marge, Homer s wife, and the baby, Maggie. The trouble making son, Bart, was on the front of Time
Magazine for being one of the most influential people of the century. During the 90 s, school
principals around the country banned Bart Simpson shirts because they said he was a bad role
model. Bart is an anagram for brat , and Bart s full name is Bartholomew Jojo Simpson. At first the
show s troublemaking son was the main character, but people seem to relate more to the
troublemaking father, Homer. As time has passed, Homer has become the man that The Simpsons
revolves
Racism In High School
The community I grew up in was very small. Everybody knew everybody! We were all taught to
love everyone no matter what color they are. Where I grew up my grandmother was everybody
grandmother. When she cooked everyone on our street was more than welcome to come and get a
plate, if she had enough. As a young black African American girl I always heard about racismand
what my raceand other races had to go through. I went to three different elementary schools and
we had kids of all race there. At Park Ridge Elementary is where I met my first friend of a different
race. At Career Academy High School, in February we had a Black History Program. Our teachers
tried to demonstrate what they had to go through by posting whites only on certain water... Show

I was always told about how certain races were treated but to actually experience it although, it
was fake it felt real to me. It made me think a lot about racism. It made me realize how serious it
was. That afternoon I went home and asked my great grandmother and she explained to me some
of the things she had to go through. Listening to her tell me all the things she went through
shocked me. She told me about the how the schools were, the buses and she went into detail about
how they were mistreated by the police. That night I remember telling myself that that happened
years ago and we were done with that. July 5, 2016 I was sitting in the living room scrolling on
facebook on my phone when I saw a video and a very long caption explain about what had
happened on the video. When I watched it I realized that this was something that happened
recently between two white cops and a black man. In the video I saw the man on the ground while
cops where screaming at him then I heard the police officer yell he got a gun and then he was shot.
The video brought tears to my eyes. I ve always heard about this happening in other states and it
made feel sad, but when it actually hit home I was confused, scared, and in disbelief and from that
moment on I knew this was only the beginning of something
Swing Dance History
Single swing is one kind of swing dance that developed with the swing style kind of jazz music in
the 1920s 1940s. Swing refers to a style of jazz music where the emphasis is on the off beat part in
the music and it influenced the evolution of swing dance because the feeling of the dance was
swinging . It uses a strong rhythm section that results in more wind and brass instruments. Swing
bands also featured soloists who improvised during their performance. Sometimes two or three band
members even improvised at the same time. But, not everyone liked swing musicand the wild
dancing that went with it. This kind of wild dancing includes a mix of tap, Charleston, and
improvisation. But, different kinds of swing dancewere created as a result... Show more content on

That s why I liked it because when I forgot dance steps, I made up my own steps since this kind of
dance is all about improvisation. I also stayed open to learning the dance steps and toward the
end of the class I felt like I knew what I was doing. I think what helped me the most was dancing
with so many different partners and figuring out how to be a good follower no matter what kind
of lead my partner is. All in all, I had a swingin good time at my first swing dance class. I learned a
lot about swing dancing and had fun doing it at the same
