The INSTITUT UNIVERSITAIRE ET STRATEGIQUE DE L’ESTUAIRE (IUEs) known in

English as ESTUARY ACADEMIC AND STRATEGIC INSTITUE (EASI) runs four
managements (INSAM higher institute of Health Applied Sciences (ISSAS Estuary Higher

ABSTRACT
A fitness home is like having a mini gym in your own house. It's a space where you can
exercise and stay healthy without going to a gym. By setting up a fitness home, you can work
out in a comfortable and familiar environment.

It's convenient, saves money, and you can customize it to fit your needs. To make a good
fitness home, you should have a dedicated workout area, essential equipment, and clear
fitness goals. I came out with this platform initiative so as to help thousands of persons that
don’t have that time to go for gym session and suffer from excessive weight gain or health
issues that demands sports exercise. This has led to an increase in the demand for fitness
home and lifestyle guide.

This platform, will help you stay motivated and achieve better health and fitness results. the
concern person will be able to get free tutorial from the platform and be able to connect with
coach that will guide through the fitness journey and help you stay in good health.

This report provide an overview of a fitness platfom designed to promote health and wellness
through exercise nutrition, and lifestyle guidance. The platform offers a variety of resources
including workout plans, healthy recipes, expert articles, and community support to help
individuals achieve their fitness goals. By leveraging modern technology and expert
knowledge, the platform aims to empower users to makes positive lifestyle change and
impove their overall well-being and it is intended for people of all interest.

GENERAL INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Internships are formal programs designed to enable students to integrate academic theory and
real world practice, engage in research that explores the relationship between the two and
gain hands on experience in professional setting.

Internship help in connecting student with opportunities to explore career, engage in

community and enrich their experiential learning. Although colleges and universities assist
student in finding the right internship programs, it is the responsibility of the would-be intern
to carefully examine internship programs, and see if those programs actually offer the
training(s) the need.

There is no standardized duration for how long an internship program lasts but typically an
internship is the period of three to twelve months. During this period, intern have the
opportunity to explore their field of interest, find out what future they are diving in to and
whether or not their sets match their path of career.

During my internship period, I came up with idea of developing a web application on
MANDY FITNESS HOME. My specific objective behind this idea was:

1.3 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This piece of work is divided in to five chapters,

Chapter one which describes the general introduction of internship report, the general
objective and specific objective of my internship program follow by the executive summary.

Chapter two talks about the brief description of the enterprise where I did my internship
with the enterprise organogram, stating the various department.

Chapter three talk about the various activities I did during my internship at HEMS

ENGINEERING CORE.

Chapter four talks about the SWOT analysis of the enterprise giving its strength,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Then the last chapter is chapter five which comprises
of conclusion of the report and what I learnt during my internship.

CORE

2.1 HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF HEMS ENGINEERING CORE

Hems engineering core is an engineering company founded on the 4th June 2018 with the
purpose of developing, promoting and encouraging technology activities within Cameroonian
community. For this reason, Hems engineering core was put in place in order to give
opportunity for aspiring Cameroonians waiting to enroll in any of the technology fields. The
IT services offered in the company and the IT courses offered at the academy will help to
improve and automate our economy and its activities. They equally provides other services
such as general hospital supplies of stationaries.

The company belong to small and medium size enterprise legal status LTD and with a
share capital of 15000000FCFA. Concerning the EVOLUTION of the company, in the
November 2018, it obtained the agreement and started it activities as a company on 30th
march 2019. Hems engineering core is located at mile 2 BAMENDA CAMEROON.

2.2 OBJECTIVES OF HEMS ENGINEERING CORE

HEMS ENGINEERING has as purpose of developing, promotion and encouraging

technology activities within the Cameroon community. For this reason, hems engineering
core company was put in place in order to give opportunity for aspiring Cameroonians
waiting to enroll in any of the tech fields.

The IT services offered in the company and the IT courses offered at the academy will help to
improve and automate our economy and it activities and it logistic activities. Hems
engineering core has as goal to be the biggest IT company and logistic company with the

prestigious training institution, and branches open in all the 10(ten) regions of the country in
3 years with headquarter Bamenda, and branch in other African countries in 5 years.

On this note, our targeted population is people aged between 10 to 50, employed and
unemployed, Cameroonians and non-Cameroonian, Anglophone and Francophone. Married
and unmarried, male and female, literates and literates. And to make the movement of goods
with Cameroon and CEMAC regions more reliable.

2.3 MISSION, VISION AND CORE VALUES

2.3.1 MISSION
They have an objective and mission of developing, promotion and offering technical services
within the Cameroonian community. For this reason, Hems Engineering Core Company was
put in the place in order to deliver quality engineering services.

The IT services they offer in the company and the IT courses they offer at the academy will
help to improve and automate our economy and it activities and logistics activities.
Emphasizing on the development of the quality services offered to the general public and
taking in to consideration the real-life situation to have such an organization environment that
answer to the day-to-day need of the clients.

Forced with serious competition, the structure and the management of the company placed
the company facilities it integration as a reliable company to its client with these objectives in
the conscious of the quality of services are driving force of profit maximization.

2.3.2 VISSION
Hems Engineering Core have vision to be the biggest IT company and logistic company with
a prestigious training instruction, and branches opened in all the 2 regions of the country in
four years with headquarters in Bamenda. On this note their targeted population is the people
between the age of 1o to 50, employed and unemployed, Cameroonians and non-
Cameroonians, Anglophones and Francophone, married and un married, male and female,
illiterates and literate, to make the movement of their services within Cameroon more
reliable.

Some which include the friendliness of personnel quality services and time management as
policy. Today HEC had 20 employment including permanent and non-permanent staff since

its creation and up to date the result of the company has not been the same. The company is
moving forward in this mission and vision as its client’s record increase day to day so too is
the increment in quality.

direction and actions.

I was welcome on the 1st of July 2022 at 7h30 in HEMS ENGINEERING CORE
COMPANY. We went through the company for visiting. He gave me a small space to work
and gave me the company WIFI password which give me access to internet connection and
finally a time table to follow for the work to be done properly.

3.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

The aim of this project is provides a convenient and accessible way for people to stay active
and healthy from the comfort of their own homes. By offering a variety of workout routines,
personalized fitness plans, and virtual classes, my platform helps individuals achieve their
fitness goals without the need for a gym membership or expensive equipment. it easy for
people to exercise at home and reach their fitness goals without going to a gym.

FITNESS: Fitness home refers to the state of being physically and mentally healthy and
strong, typically as a regular exercise, proper nutrition, and overall well-being. Maintaining
fitness is important for overall health , longevity and quality of life

3.4 JUSTIFICATION OF MY TOPIC

Mandy Fitness home platforms make it easy for people to stay fit and healthy at home. They
offer a variety of workouts and programs for different fitness levels and goals. These
platforms are interactive, with live classes and virtual trainers, which help users stay
motivated and on track. They also provide convenience by allowing users to exercise
whenever and wherever they want, without the hassle of going to a gym. By using a fitness

home platform, individuals can take control of their health and well-being in a flexible and
accessible way, leading to improved fitness, mental wellness, and overall quality of life.

3.7 APPROACH

Referring to the approach of software cycle which are: requirement and analysis, designing,
implementation, deployment, testing, and maintenance. A software is set to be done if the

analysis was done. This first phase permit the analyst to have a comprehensive information
about the system to be study i.e. to understand the existence, the link with other system of
the organization, its users, its component, its method of treating given information, its
destination, the data that it received and it source.

The realization of this project need some method of analysis that concord with the
integration and the integrity of different parties or modules of system. Some method put in
place for analysis are: MERISE, UML, FAST, and SADT. The choice of one is made along
three essential axes that involve a method to know:

• An approach: set of step of phase and task indicating the path to follow to lead a
project.
• Reasoning and necessary techniques to build a project object.
• Means to put in place, object and tool occurrence of the organization

But in other to attain my objective I choose to use PHP/MYSQL which is an object oriented
language to realize the project. This permit me to make a choice on UML method of analysis
rather than MERISE.

3.7.1 HISTORY OF UML

UML short for unified modeling language, is a standardize modeling language consisting of
an integrated set of a diagrams, developed to help system and software developers for
specifying, visualizing, constructing and documenting the artifacts of software systems, as
well as for business modeling and other non-software systems. It was develop by Grady
brooch, Ivar Jacobson and James Rumbaugh at rational software in 1994-1995, with further
development lead by them through 1996. UML uses many method out of which the 2TUP
method which constitute of a set of diagrams to represent the software to be develop: the
functioning, his path way, action to be perform. Realization these diagrams bring us to
modeling the needs of the software to be develop. One of our reasons of choosing UML is
his extensibility since UML is also called object oriented model.

3.8 ANALYSIS

The use case diagram describe the functions of the system from the point of view of actors,
but does not expose them in a detail way the dialogue between the actors and the use case.

The use case model the interaction between the information system to be develop and the
user or the actor interacting with the system. More precisely, the use case describe the set of
operation done by the system which give an observable output for an actor. The textual
description of a use case does not exist. Generally I found for every case a name, a brief
summary of a use context in which it is applied, the actors put in place, and a detail
description,

3.8.2 LINKS BETWEEN THE USE CASES

It is very important to use link between case (without passing by the actor), UML have two
type:
the relation us (include) and the relation extend.

User case: The relation use (include) is employ when a case is an obligatory part of another
case.
Extension of case (extend) this notion is use when a case an optionally part of another case.

ACTOR

An actor is an ideal of a role play by an external person, a process or something that interact
with the system. It is represented by a person with his name written under. In the user case,
an actor represent a role and not a physical person.

At this point you need to bring in THE DATA MODEL USED eg ER MODEL(draw
ER diagrams of the system) or OBJECT oriented model(Draw class diagram, sequence
diagram and usecase diagram)

After the data model you give the process model used (draw a watafall model and
explain the phaces)

3.6.3 DESIGN(this design up to maintenance should be under the process

Software design may refer to either all the activity involved in conceptualizing, framing,
implementing, commissioning, and ultimately modifying complex systems" or "the activity
following requirements specification and before programming, as a stylized software
engineering process.

3.6.4 CODING

Computer programming is the process of performing a particular computation (or more

generally, accomplishing a specific computing result), usually by designing/building an
executable computer program. Programming involves tasks such as analysis, generating
algorithms, profiling algorithms' accuracy and resource consumption, and the
implementation of algorithms (usually in a chosen programming language, commonly
referred to as coding).

3.7 METHODOLOGIES
The first step in most formal software development processes is requirements analysis,
followed by testing to determine value modeling, implementation, and failure elimination
(debugging).

3.7.1 TOOLS AND LANGUAGE

i. Materials

The development of the software was done on an HP laptop with the following
characteristics:

 Processor (i5) of frequency of 2.4Hz

 64-bit operating system

 8 GB RAM

 Windows 10 operating system

 750GB hard disk

ii. Language

During the realization of the software, for the different level we have used different
languages like HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and PHP.

iii. Testing

Software testing is the act of examining the artifacts and the behavior of the software under
test by validation and verification. Software testing can also provide an objective,

independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks
of software implementation. This testing was to using

 Front view, live server was used as to see all modification at real time and at each
stage of coding.

 API testing – testing of the application using public and private APIs.

 Database connection, to see whether data are been stored in the database.

3.7.2 IMPLIMENTATION

iv. Deployment

In this phase, the software is deployed into a live environment (client's server) in order to test
its performance. Once the software is deployed, it becomes available to end-users.
Sometimes, this phase also includes training of real-time users to communicate benefits of
the system.

v. Maintenance

Maintenance. After the deployment phase, the next step is to provide support and
maintenance for the software, making sure it runs smoothly. If the client and users come
across errors/defects/bugs during use, fixing them is the main purpose of this stage.

 CHAPTER FOUR: SWOT ANALYSIS

Upon completion of this internship I know my work experience has been evaluated
drastically. While practical involves putting theoretical ideas in tangible form; transforming
theoretical knowledge into physical form which involves doing it with hands. Just knowing a
concept in theory is not just enough; student need to practice what the know cognitively in
physical form, since learning take place in three forms i.e. cognitive domain, affective
domain and the psychomotto. If all this are not fulfilled, then learning has not taken place.
That is the reason why the ministry of higher Education has made internship an obligation
for students. Therefore, theory is a path way to practical.

For effective practical to be done, then there must first be theoretical notation of it. This is
why one cannot compare technical students with apprentices who are learning a trade; those
apprentices combine theory at the same time with practical. On the other side, technical
student easily assimilate theoretical knowledge with practical. I can state clearly that the
time I spent in Hems engineering core was not a waste in those things that I used to see only
on papers, I was able to them with my own hands.

4.1 STRENGTH OF THE ORGANISATION

Hems engineering core has a good number of point why it is successful. The organization
strength are enumerated below

 The institution is made up of well qualified and trained personnel

 The institution comprises computer laboratory for research and practical
 An advertisement web site that can be access any Ire in the world

4.2 WEAKNESSES OF THE COMPANY

Despite the strength of hems engineering core mention above, the organization has some
shortcomings which are the preoccupations of the organization. The organization staff is
doing what they can to curb these shortcomings. This limitation a listed below as follows;

 The absence of staffs.

 Limited space for interns.
 Shortage of programmers.
 Low hospitality due to the lack of receptionist.

4.3 OPPORTUNITY STUDY

An idea is the beginning of a project. To clarify that idea is the first functioning of the
opportunity study. All project work for a change, this study evaluate the change waited,
where the first question is: what change do I need?

The principal objective here is to put in place an internship portal system in other to apply
for internship easily in many companies as possible and it will save you time. The first
reason of creating this system is to rescue at the pion that meaningful time can be save as
well as advertisement. That is why I thing that this system will be important to student.

4.4 THREAD

 Rival enterprises is a big threat thus cause the enterprise to be in such a competition
with the competitor company.
 Network Problem; there was constant network issues thus slowing down the research
work and hosting.

RECOMMENDATION AND GENERAL
SOLUTION

5.1 PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED

 Traffic from home to the enterprise causing lateness.

 Had difficulties with my machine, xampp was disturbing during installation.
 Difficulties in using word press.
 Shortage of programmers at the enterprise.

5.2 RECOMMENDATION

 To solve the problem of shortage of programmers, I recommend that the enterprise

should
 train and employ her own programmers, in doing such; their output will increase as
well as increasing productivity.
 An API for fees payment will be integrated into the system.

The internship I did was a good experience for me. My passage at Hems Engineering Core
