In some cultures, children are taught by their parents that they can achieve

anything with hard work.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend?

On the one hand, multiple benefits can be seen from this trend. Firstly, should
parents instill in their children the idea that anything is possible with effort, these
youngsters will be more successful in life. For instance, people learning the
importance of struggle are able to become great leaders. In addition, laying more
stress on hard work improves the personality of a person. A case in point is that a
diligent person who is always respectful of others’ efforts can be humble and
considerate.

On the other hand, there are either the drawbacks of that scenario. One of those is
the children’s psychological distress. When kids are excessively pushed by parents
and teachers, they may develop anxiety. Another demerit is that children having
the belief that anything is achievable with perseverance can form some bad
characters like: being competitive instead of improving soft skills. For example,
too much theoretical knowledge is focused on might lead to the lack of common
sense in kids.

Government investment in the arts, such as music and theatre, is a waste of

money. Governments must invest this money in public services instead.

To what extent do you agree with this statement?

In our contemporary life, it has always been a controversial issue over whether
public services should be funded by governments instead of arts which is
considered to be money-wasting or not. To me, governments can make investments
in both fields, but focus more on public services.

On the one hand, governments should spend money on arts, such as music and
theatre. Firstly, many activities like listening to music, watching a movie or
drawing a picture can help people relieve stress after a hustle day at work, which is
supposed to prevent health issues, such as depression or autism. As a result, the
citizens may improve their mental health, thereby contributing to the whole
community’s one. Secondly, culture and history are a fundamental part of society,
so investments in pieces of art presenting these should not be ignored. For
example, the movie The Third Wife portrays the tradition of marriage in Vietnam
in the nineteenth century; therefore, watching that movie is able to educate
youngsters about the last generations' lives. By the time, the nation’s history had
better be preserved. It can be easily seen that there will be a plethora of merits
when governments purchase art.

On the other hand, public services are also invest-worthy. Arts, as well as
entertainment, cannot cure diseases; while doctors and medical support can. For
instance, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the most essential thing was the supply of
medicines, vaccines as well as the other medical resources. Consequently,
governments should spend more on public infrastructures like hospitals or foster
and nursing homes to improve the community’s health. In addition, the better the
traffic system or the air quality gets, the better citizens' quality of life becomes. If
people feel content, their work productivity will increase, which helps to boost the
country's economy. All in all, governments ought to make a wide range of
investments in services for the public.

To sum up, either arts or public services are crucial to invest in, but governments
should focus more investments on public services.

Some people think that students in single-sex schools perform better

academically. Others, however, believe that mixed schools provide children
with better social skills for adult life.

The increase in the production of consumer goods results in damage to the

natural environment. What are the causes of this? What can be done to solve
this problem?

As major cities in the world are growing today, so do their problems. What
are problems for young people who are living in the cities as the result of
continued growth? What are solutions for these problems?
The challenges in today's large cities are expanding along with them. Additionally,
the continual expansion of cities has created issues for young people living there.
Besides the undeniable benefits of conurbations, many challenges have appeared
for the youth living there.

First of all, plentiful human resources go hand in hand with a large city's economic
expansion; therefore, an increasing number of young people go there in search of
employment and better living standard. In fact, more people moving from the
countryside to the city leads to population density increases. As a result, there will
be a population boom and a shortage of housing and employment opportunities. To
solve this issue, the government should take timely remedial measures. Industrial
zones, along with a number of sizable hospitals and schools need to be relocated
away from metropolitan area . Moreover, if young people want to reside in urban
areas, they should also be assisted in getting jobs.

In addition, a plethora of bars and nightclubs have popped up for those keen on a
hectic lifestyle with the infrastructure's breakneck expansion. Along with that,
young people are easily lured into falling into social evils, such as drug trafficking,
illegal gambling, and prostitution. As a result, those young people will get into
problems breaking the law. In order to look for the key to this problem, the
government should adopt stronger legislation and prosecute violators harshly.
Furthermore, stimulants must also be restricted by increasing taxes on these items.

In the nutshell, the youth living in major cities have to face up to abundant
demands, so competent authorities should publish timely remedial measures.

In many countries, people are spending more hours at their workplace. Why
is that? Is that a negative or positive development?

Working time is regulated by law for the benefit of employees. They are,
nevertheless, trying to spend more time at work, more than 8 hours a day. This
phenomena might be caused by a number of reasons or impacts.

There are both subjective and objective reasons, as to why, nowadays, in some
nations, the majority of employees are opting to spend more time at their
workplace. First, they can earn more money in order to improve their living
standard or they could show their devotion as a sign of commitment to work.
Therefore, they can easily move up the career ladder and their headache about
expenditure will disappear. Second, nowadays, technology is developing faster and
faster. The managers, therefore, can quickly assign tasks and projects to their staff
even after work. This is regarded as the most popular reason which made
employees expend more time on work.

Working overtime brings both benefits and damage to people. The economy will
grow significantly when all workers work extra time in order to increase
productivity. However, we must confront the fact that there are more disadvantages
than advantages. While working overtime, employees have to work under a lot of
pressure, they may be stressful. Therefore, their health and their mentality could be
quickly harmed. Moreover, when working too much, people don’t have enough
time to date and get married; so the result is the aging population like society
Japan.
In conclusion, people shouldn’t spend too much time on work and ignore social
relationships. Everyone should arrange their time reasonably.
