1.) Select all of the data, then create a pivot table.
- On the dialog box, choose "select a table or range. Name of the Table/Range should be Table 1
- Click Existing Worksheet, on the Location field, click H4

2.) On the PivotTable Fields, tick Region and Order Amount.

3.) Drag a field from the Field List to the Filters area. In this example, we'll use the Salesperson field.

4.) The filter will appear above the PivotTable. Click the drop-down arrow, then check the box next to
Select Multiple Items.

5.) Uncheck the box next to any item you don't want to include in the PivotTable. Uncheck the boxes for a
few salespeople (Brennan, Dumlao, Thompson), then click OK.
- The PivotTable will adjust to reflect the changes.

6.) On the Sum of Order Amount of South, right click and select Show Details. (Make sure to rename the
new sheet, South Details)

7.) Go back to 1st Quarter Sales Challenge sheet, Select any cell in the PivotTable.

8.) From the Analyze tab, click the Insert Slicer command.

9.) A dialog box will appear. Check the box next to the desired field. Select Salesperson, then click OK.

10.) The slicer will appear next to the PivotTable. Each selected item will be highlighted in blue. In the
example below, the slicer contains all eight salespeople, but only five of them are currently selected.

11.) on the Slicer, Clear filter / Alt + C

12.) (Same sheet) Select any cell in your PivotTable.

13.) From the Insert tab, click the PivotChart command.

14.) The Insert Chart dialog box will appear. Select the desired chart type and layout, then click OK.

15.) The PivotChart will appear.

16.) On the PivotTable Fields, remove Region field from the Rows Area, then DRAG the following:
- Salesperson to Rows Area
- Month to Columns Area
(This changes the PivotTable to view the monthly sales for each salesperson)

17.) On your Salesperson Slicer, DESELECT the following:

- Flores, Post, Thompson and Walters
* Notice that your PivotTable Chart changes as well.

You're Done.
