MEMORY

1. Are you good at memorising things?

Well, not really. I'm not very good at memorizing things. Sometimes I
forget names, dates, or small details. It depends on how important the
thing is. If it’s something important, like for work or study, I try harder to
remember it. I usually write it down or repeat it many times to help
myself. But if it’s not so important, I forget it easily. I think my memory is
okay, but it could be better.
2. Have you ever forgotten somethings important?
Oh, definitely! I think we’ve all had those moments. One time, I forgot to
send an important email to my director. I was busy with other tasks and
completely forgot about it. Later, my director reminded me, and I felt
really embarrassed. I sent the email right away and apologized. After that,
I learned to check my to-do list more carefully and set reminders, so I
rarely forget important things again.
3. What do you need to remember in your daily life?
There’s quite a bit to remember each day. I need to keep track of my task
list, work schedule, assignment deadlines, and items I need to buy. I also
try to remember birthdays or special events so I can send my wishes.
Most importantly, I always remind myself to spend time studying —
whether it's English or subjects related to my major.
4. How do you remember important things?
I usually rely on my phone to keep track of important tasks. I use apps
like Google Calendar and Notes to set reminders and plan my day. If
something is really important, I’ll even write it down in a notebook.
Sometimes, I put sticky notes on my desk to make sure I won’t forget.
This combination helps me stay organized and manage my time better.
5. Are you better at remembering faces or names?
I’m definitely better at remembering faces than names. When I meet
someone new, I usually remember what they look like, but sometimes I
forget their name even just a few minutes later. Faces are easier for me
because I can picture them in my mind. Names, on the other hand, don’t
always stick unless I hear them a few times or repeat them to myself.
6. How do you think childhood memories shape a person’s personality?

Version 1: I think childhood memories help shape a person’s personality. When

we are children, the things we see, feel, and learn can affect how we grow up.
For example, if a child has a happy family and feels loved, they may become a
kind and confident person. But if a child has a lot of problems or feels sad, they
might become shy or worried. Childhood memories can also affect what we like,
what we fear, and how we treat other people.

Version 2: I think childhood memories are important because when we are

children, it's like we are a blank piece of paper without any ink or paint on it.
Anything we remember from our childhood can shape us and help define who
we are today; it contributes to our identity and personality. Our behavior can
also be influenced by the things we used to do. Parents can create positive
memories by being there for their children, spending time with them, and
encouraging good communication.

7. Why do some people remember negative events more strongly than

positive?
I think people remember negative events more because they usually have strong
feelings, like sadness or fear. These emotions make the memory stick in our
minds. Also, our brains try to protect us by helping us remember bad things so
we don’t make the same mistake again.
