Simple Quantum Physics Notes

Quantum physics, or quantum mechanics, studies the behavior of the smallest particles in the universe, revealing phenomena such as wave-particle duality, superposition, and quantum entanglement. Key concepts include the uncertainty principle and quantum tunneling, which highlight the unique properties of particles. This field underpins many modern technologies, enhancing our understanding of the universe at a fundamental level.

Introduction to Quantum Physics

Quantum physics, also known as quantum mechanics, is the study of the smallest particles in the

universe.

It explains how atoms, electrons, and light behave in ways that are very different from what we see

in our daily lives.

Key Concepts:

1. Wave-Particle Duality:

Particles like electrons and light can behave both as particles and as waves.

2. Superposition:

A particle can be in multiple states at once, like being in two places at the same time, until it is

measured.

3. Quantum Entanglement:

Two particles can be connected in such a way that changing one instantly changes the other, even if

they are far apart.

4. Uncertainty Principle:

It is impossible to know both the exact position and speed of a particle at the same time.

5. Quantum Tunneling:

Particles can pass through barriers, even if they don't seem to have enough energy to do so.
Quantum physics is the foundation of many modern technologies, like computers, lasers, and MRI

machines.

This field may seem strange, but it helps us understand the universe at the smallest level.
