1. Preparations Introductory Activity and/or Formative Assessment
Introductory *Arrange the following numbers in increasing or decreasing
Activity order through number cards
5min. *Identify the numbers in the chart if it is increasing or
decreasing.
*show picture of the object with ordinal numbers
Ask: what is the 3rd object in the chart?
How do we call this numbers?
What do ordinal numbers tell us?
Activity Call on the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd, honors of the last school year to
10 min. stand before the class.
Ask the pupils, ‘what is his/her position in the list of honor
pupils in grade one last year? Have the other pupils get a
rolled paper in the box to know who will be the list of honor
pupils from 4th to 10th.Let them stand before the class. Use
improvised ribbons ( ordinal number ) on their chest.
Valuing:
-why do pupils get honors?
-How do they study?
-Are you a diligent pupil? why do you have to be diligent
with your studies?
Analysis Group Activity:
15min. Divide the class into 3 groups.Give each group a different
cut outs. Ask the pupils to arrange the objects from 1st to
20th. Teacher play the music while pupils are working on
the activity. If music stops,they must finish arranging
themselves.
Let them explain their work giving emphasis on the order of
objects from 1st to 20th.
Lead them to write the correct way of writting ordinal
numbers.
Guide the pupils to give the pattern on how to write ordinal
numbers from 1st to 20th
