In this work I will be looking at three competitor apps; TutorAI, PhotoMath, and ChatGPT.

Tutor AI:

A ersonalized AI tutor that helps you learn anything. You can ask questions, get explanations, examples, and
learn at your own pace.

Tutor AI has been praised for its ability to provide informative content and its potential to democratize
access to education when combined with human editing.

 Answer questions: You can ask questions about a wide range of topics, such as science, history,
mathematics, literature, technology, among others. Provides you with clear and precise
answers.
 explain concepts: If you are having difficulty understanding a specific concept, it can provide you
with a detailed and easy-to-understand explanation. Use examples and analogies to help you
assimilate the information.
 Provide additional information: In addition to answering your questions, it offers additional
relevant information on a specific topic. It may include interesting facts, important historical
events, or related theories.
 help with chores: If you are working on a school assignment or project, it can provide guidance
and suggestions for approaching it.
 practice skills: If you want to practice your skills in a certain area, it provides you with
interactive exercises and problems to solve. It will help you put into practice what you have
learned and improve your skills.

Some users noted that the results for certain questions asked were not very relevant to the question
asked.

PhotoMath:

photo math is also an educational AI software that deals only with mathematical questions. By taking
a photo of the equation you are trying to solve the app would solve it for you and provide you with a
step by step explanation.

Teachers noted that it offers a unique, tech-savvy approach to showing solutions to math equations.
However kids will be tempted to use the app for quick and easy answers to problems, with no
opportunity for in-depth learning.

Additionally the photo math software does not recognize human hand writing.

Pros:

 Instant solutions via photo recognition

 Potential dependence on technology

ChatGPT:

this is an AI app that people simply go to ask questions and receive immediate answers. It is not
necessarily a tutoring application as it does not really teach you anything it just churns out answers.

ChatGPT is a powerful conversational companion with great writing skills, but it only has
information up to 2021 and doesn’t cite its sources, which should be table stakes for any
trustworthy AI tool.

Why our app?

Why Aicademy? Aicademy is an AI tutoring app that is tailored to each individual, specific to learning
styles, be it audio, visual, or both, learning disabilities among other things.

It has an interactive and easy to use user interface that makes the app experience so much better.
Aicademy unlike other AI tutoring apps offers its user with a customizable avatar for each person that
allows them to be taught in ways that suits them. It makes learning a whole lot easier. Since our app is
solely for university students it makes it easier to focus our courses to that age group so as to have a
more in depth and integrated learning.

Our app also offers the option for schools to impute their courses and curriculum so that its students can
learn exactly what is being taught in your school at your own pace.

Aicademy is also created with solving one of the SDG4’s in mind which entails leaving no one behind.
There is no language barrier because the app is available in multiple languages around the world.

Aicaademy unlike other tutoring apps would work with the guidelines of each countries nationally
accepted university curriculum. This is great because it tailors learning to the country the user is in.

Aicademy is bridging the Gap In The Market, where most academic tutoring apps focus majorly on
secondary school students Aicademy was created with university students in mind, allowing for a
smooth and easy university experience.
