**Some pattern pieces have multiple materials listed. Where this is the case, the material I normally use is listed first with substitutions following on each pattern piece.
**Make a note of your preferred material type before you gather materials.
**There are also other materials you can use like Reticulated Foam, however, I have not used them so I can’t recommend what I don’t know yet!
**A great resourse for finding suppliers for materials is WWW.FURSUITMATERIALS.COM !

Where the Pattern indicates ‘Trace + Flip’ it requires you to follow the instructions mirrored/opposite on the flipped piece.
Where the Pattern indicates ‘Cut on Fold’ you will need to draw the piece, flip the Paper Pattern and draw the other side before cutting out material. This makes x1 piece.

Things to Note
This PDF contains an ‘Early Access’ version of my ‘DEX’ Small Cat k-Fusion Kemono Base! There are NO instructions
included with this PDF. When Instructions become available this listing will be updated with an updated PDF and the
price will change to £10 to reflect the additional product.
If you have already purchased this base you don’t need to worry about buying again. The listing you purchased from will be
updated with the new files.

When assembling this style of base I fully recommend using CONTACT ADHESIVE! You may use hot-glue if you wish to but all my
tests for durability and avoiding split seams have been done with Contact Adhesive ONLY.

** IMPORTANT: Please remember! Wait 24hrs AFTER your

base has been completed before you start patterning your fur.
If you skip ahead there is a chance of seam weakness being
hidden if you have not firmly pressed all your seams. The wait
allows the seams to relax and if there is a weakness in your
glue bond, it will show.
Here is an example of a seam you do NOT want on your head
base. It is good to stress test your own glues too as the formu-
lation may be different from mine!

ALWAYS wear the correct PPE when working

with Contact Adhesive

Included with this pattern is my Foundation Base. You will need to build on this base in order to complete your base.
The Foundation Base PDF included with this download does include full instruction.
In terms of assembling the DEX base, the build method is very similar to my Canine Base. I highly suggest you watch through
the Canine k-Fusion tutorial video (linked in the listing description) in order to build DEX. It was originally my first foray into my
Foundation Faceplate style so the basic steps are the same and a lot of the advice will also apply to this pattern.

1. The 1st stage of assembly for most of my bases is starting with making the Eyes, Nose Teeth + Tongue. I find it helps things
go faster later in the finishing stages and when you have the eye blanks complete, you can fit as you foam.
2. When shaping the Muzzle, ensure you hollow it out for better breathing room. The lining pattern was drafted on a hollowed
muzzle so I recommenced that you also hollow the muzzle.
3. The Inner Muzzle pieces are what connect the Muzzle to the Foundation Base. It might seem flimsy at first but after all the
pieces of the base are on, the muzzle acts as a central anchor point for every foam pattern piece.
4. Cheek pieces are attached in layer order 1-3, first glued to the side of the muzzle and then curved round to the EVA of the
Foundation Base. Make sure you have traced the Foundation Base Curve included with this PDF to the Foundation
Base. This is very important for lining up Layer 1 Lower Cheek.
5. You will NEED to have the Lower Cheek + Upper Cheek pieces carved round BEFORE you attach the Outer Cheek.
This piece smooths over your foam carving. You will also need to add minimal carving round the perimeter to this layer too.
6. Make sure your Brow + Temple pieces are joined and darts are fully glued before you attach the Brow to the Muzzle.
7. You can add expression to the mouth by cutting out a wedge of foam from the lower jaw before gluing it in. If you have glued
the Lower Cheek in correctly, this piece should slot in with minimal fuss.
8. Cutting the Cheek Fluff out of foam can make fur seem super thick if you don’t have access to furs like Flokati or MMFox.

I sew ears into the hood of the fursuit so I can
get the neatest finish possible for my work. I
prefer to use 300GSM Fosshape.
You might find it easier to glue the ears to the
base and then fur. A foam or EVA ear might work
