 ABSTRACT

This project has been submitted in the fulfillment of the requirements for the
bachelor of engineering. We, the team members of this project, take pleasure in presenting the detailed
project report that reflects our efforts in academic year 2023-24.

Alumni directory generation can act as an interactive medium between the old student and the School,
College, University or institution. Alumni System helps the institutions to track old students and to track
them for future endeavours. At the same time, it helps the alumni to communicate with the institution, may
be a school, or college or a university and with the old batch mates. Educational institution needs to keep
track of their passed-out students. So, Alumni directory helps them to keep record of each and every alumni.
Alumni directory helps institution to maintain connectivity between alumni and institution. Educational
institution’s alumni are the single greatest symbol of the success of your institution. An alumni directory
helps you ensure that you never lose access to them and continue to engage with them long after they have
graduated. In our developed system, instead of showing all alumni and their details which can harm the
personal details and privacy of alumni , we designed and implemented the Alumni directory in such a way
that this system will be available for general public use through the web interface but a non-registered visitor
can only see the website and upcoming events happening in institute. Only alumni can view other alumni’s
only on their login. After alumni registers into system, they can login themselves until and unless admin
verifies their profile. If found unknown then admin doesn’t verify and unknown user can’t login themselves.
Alumni can participate in upcoming events happening in institution. They can find their old batchmates and
can easily contact with them without any hesitation. Alumni directory really helps both alumni and institution
to be in touch easily.

All the team members of our project took equal efforts in completing the project. We the team members of
this project, take pleasure in presenting the detailed project report that reflects our efforts in the academic
year 2023-24.

 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Introduction

An Online Digital Notice Board is a web-based or app-based platform

designed to replace traditional physical notice boards. It enables organizations,
institutions, schools, and companies to publish and share notices,
announcements, schedules, and important updates with a target audience in a
convenient, real-time, and accessible manner.

This project offers a modern, efficient alternative to traditional notice boards,

enhancing communication and information dissemination in an eco-friendly
and organized way.

1.2 Motivation

The motivation for creating an Online Digital Notice Board stems from
the limitations and inefficiencies of traditional, physical notice boards and the
evolving need for quick, eco-friendly, and efficient communication solutions in
organizations, schools, and companies. Some key motivating factors include
Need for Instant Communication: Traditional notice boards are limited by
location and time constraints. Important updates often need to be shared in real
time, especially in dynamic environments like schools and workplaces. An
online notice board allows for instant updates accessible

1.3 Problem Statement and Objectives
Traditional notice boards have several limitations that hinder efficient
communication, including Limited Accessibility: Physical notice boards are
only accessible in specific locations, making it difficult for people to stay
informed when they’re off-site. Time-Consuming Updates: Updating or
replacing notices on physical boards is time-consuming and requires manual
intervention, often leading to outdated information.Environmental Impact:
Paper-based notices contribute to waste and are not environmentally
sustainable.Ineffective Communication for Urgent Notices: Physical notice
boards don’t allow notifications for urgent updates, which can delay the
dissemination of critical information.Difficulty in Organizing Information: It’s
challenging to categorize, search, or prioritize notices on a physical board,
which can lead to missed or overlooked information.

underscore the importance of a well-designed interface, secure access, and the role of

 3. PROPOSED SYSTEM

3.1 Introduction
The proposed system for an Online Digital Notice Board is a web-based or mobile
application that aims to centralize and digitize the process of sharing notices,
announcements, and important updates within an organization, school, or
company. This system will replace traditional notice boards, enhancing
communication and accessibility through a user-friendly, real-time
platformAdmin Role: Authorized users (e.g., faculty, management, or HR) can
create, edit, and delete notices. This ensures that only about system.

3.2 System Design

The system design for the Online Digital Notice Board includes a client-server
architecture with a responsive front-end interface and a secure back-end. The
front end, built with web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or
frameworks like React or Angular), provides an intuitive interface where users
can view, search, and filter notices. The back end, powered by a server-side
language such as Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), or PHP, handles business logic,
user authentication, and database interactions. A relational database (like MySQL
or PostgreSQL) or NoSQL database (like MongoDB) stores notice data, user
profiles, and role-based access information. User authentication and role-based
access control ensure that only authorized users, such as admins, can post or
manage notices, while general users can view them. Push notifications and email
alerts are integrated to notify users of high-priority updates. The system is also
designed with security measures, including encryption and secure login protocols,
to protect user data and ensure reliable information dissemination.

JavaScript engine that executes the code on the user’s device.

● OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision Library) is an open source computer vision and

machine learning software library. OpenCV was built to provide a common infrastructure

for computer vision applications and to accelerate the use of machine perception in the

commercial products. Being a BSD-licensed product,

.The Online Digital Notice Board system has significant potential for future expansion. Features such as AI-driven
content prioritization, which highlights important notices based on user behavior, can be implemented to enhance
relevance. Integration with other organizational tools, like calendars or email systems, could streamline workflows
by automatically syncing important events. Expanding the system to include multilingual support would increase
accessibility for diverse audiences, while implementing more advanced security measures, such as biometric login,
could improve data protection. Additionally, analytics capabilities could be developed to provide insights into user
engagement and popular notices, helping organizations optimize communication strategies. With ongoing
improvements, this digital notice board could evolve into a comprehensive information management system,
adaptable across various sectors.

In conclusion, the Online Digital Notice Board provides a modern, efficient, and eco-friendly
solution to traditional notice boards, addressing key limitations such as accessibility, update
delays, and paper waste. By offering real-time updates, role-based access, and user-friendly
navigation, the system ensures that important information is easily accessible to all
authorized users, anytime and anywhere. Notifications for high-priority updates enhance
timely communication, while the centralized platform simplifies information management
for administrators. With the added benefits of potential future expansions, such as AI-
powered recommendations and multilingual support, this system has the capacity to
transform organizational communication practices, making it a valuable tool in educational,
corporate, and institutional settings.
