3. Quality Assurance & Safety:
o Supervise all concrete work to maintain structural integrity.
o Implement safety protocols for handling, mixing, and placing concrete.
4. Submittals & Documentation:
o Submit shop drawings for reinforcement and formwork.
o Provide test reports and records of concrete work.
PART 2 – PRODUCTS
Scope of Work:
This section specifies the materials to be used in concrete work, including:
1. Concrete Materials:
o Supply Portland cement, fine and coarse aggregates, and potable water.
o Provide admixtures as needed for workability, durability, and strength enhancement.
o Ensure that concrete mix meets strength requirements of (e.g., 3,500 psi for columns,
3,000 psi for slabs).
2. Reinforcement Materials:
o Supply deformed reinforcing bars (Grade 40 or 60) and tie wires.
o Ensure bars are cut, bent, and tied according to structural drawings.
3. Formwork & Accessories:
o Provide marine plywood, steel form ties, spacers, and form-release agents.
o Ensure formwork supports concrete weight and maintains proper alignment.
4. Curing & Protection Materials:
o Provide curing compounds, burlap, plastic sheets, or other moisture retention methods.
o Supply protective barriers to prevent premature drying and cracking.
PART 3 – EXECUTION
Scope of Work:
This section covers the proper execution of concrete placement, finishing, and curing, ensuring
structural stability and durability.
1. Site Preparation & Inspection:
o Verify formwork, reinforcement, and embedded items before pouring.
o Ensure that all sleeves, conduits, and openings are in place.
2. Formwork Installation & Removal:
o Erect formwork according to design specifications.
o Apply release agents to prevent sticking.
o Remove formwork only after concrete gains sufficient strength.
3. Reinforcement Installation:
o Secure reinforcing bars with proper spacing and concrete cover.
o Ensure bars are free from rust, oil, or other contaminants.
4. Concrete Mixing & Placement:
o Ensure concrete is mixed in proper proportions and delivered on time.
o Place concrete within 90 minutes of batching to prevent setting.
o Use vibrators to eliminate voids and honeycombs.
5. Finishing & Curing:
o Screed and level concrete surfaces to required thickness.
o Apply smooth or broom finish as specified.
o Cure concrete using water, curing compounds, or wet burlap for at least 7 days.
6. Testing & Quality Control:
o Perform slump tests before placement.
o Cast concrete cylinder samples for 7-day and 28-day compressive strength tests.
o Repair any defects, cracks, or honeycombs as per engineer’s instruction.
7. Cleanup & Protection:
o Remove excess materials, debris, and construction waste.
o Protect fresh concrete from rain, excessive heat, or freezing conditions.

PART 1 – GENERAL
1.1 SCOPE
This section covers all requirements for cast-in-place concrete for the 2-storey residential building with
a roof deck. It includes materials, installation, finishing, curing, and quality control. Work includes but is
not limited to:
1.1.1 Structural concrete for footings, columns, beams, slabs, and walls.
1.1.2 Non-structural concrete for pavements, curbs, and driveways.
1.1.3 Reinforcement, formwork, and curing methods.
1.2 REQUIREMENTS OF REGULATORY AGENCIES
1.2.1. All concrete work must comply with National Building Code, ACI 318 (Building Code
Requirements for Structural Concrete), and ASTM standards.
1.2.2. Safety and environmental regulations set by OSHA and local governing agencies must be
followed.
