CHAPTER SIX
RECOMMENDATION & CONCLUSION
6.0 INTRODUCTION
The aim of this chapter is to present the conclusions of the overall work achieved and
also give an assessment on the completed system and describe the limitation of the
project, the problems faced and recommendations for future work on how the system
can be improved.
6.1 CONCLUSION
The objective of this project was to build a web based program for ELMS for BECCO
POWER SUPPLY IN JOWHAR in order to manage their employees safely and
securely. The system developed is able to meet all the basic requirements. It will
provide the facility to the end-user and staffs members of the office. The ELMS of
BECCO POWER SUPPLY IN JOWHAR will be also benefited by the proposed
system, as it will automate the whole procedure, which will reduce the workload. The
security of the system is also one of the prime concerns.
The project was implemented using PHP, HTML, and CSS as frontend and Microsoft
SQL Server for database and it starts with a login interface which contains employee
and admin login. The system was developed after analyzing and reviewing the current
manual system at the fact finding stage and a Use Case diagram was used to
understand the actors of the system.
There is always a room for improvement in any software, however efficient the
system may be. The important thing is that the system should be flexible enough for
future modifications and to maintain. Every effort has been made to cover all user
requirements and make it user friendly.
The leave management system works better and is more user-friendly. Additionally,
the system is built to fulfill the primary goals of the leave management system, which
include assisting users in maintaining records, utilizing the program, managing
members efficiently, and managing employee leaves.
A. Strengths
1
The project is identified by the merits of the system offered to the user. The
merits of this project are as follows: -
1. It’s a web-enabled project.
2. This project offers user to enter the data through simple and
interactive forms. This is very helpful for the client to enter the
desired information through so much simplicity.
3. The user is mainly more concerned about the validity of the data,
whatever he is entering. There are checks on every stages of any new
creation, data entry or updating so that the user cannot enter the
invalid data, which can create problems at later date.
4. Sometimes the user finds in the later stages of using project that he
needs to update some of the information that he entered earlier.
There are options for him by which he can update the records.
Moreover there is restriction for his that he cannot change the
primary data field. This keeps the validity of the data to longer
extent.
5. User is provided the option of monitoring the records he entered
earlier. He can see the desired records with the variety of options
provided by him.
6. Data storage and retrieval will become faster and easier to maintain
because data is stored in a systematic manner and in a single
database.
7. Decision making process would be greatly enhanced because of
faster processing of information since data collection from
information available on computer takes much less time than manual
system.
8. Allocating of sample results becomes much faster because at a time
the user can see the records of last years.
9. Easier and faster data transfer through latest technology associated
with the computer and communication.
10. Through these features it will increase the efficiency, accuracy and
transparency.
B. Weaknesses
2
The entire development of project encountered a little problem. The prime being
learning the new functionalities of the system on which the development of the
project is based on. A lot of detailed study was required the initial phases of the
project development.
Due to the constraint of resources and time, the size of the project could not be
increased.
The size of the database increases day-by-day, increasing the load on the database
back up and data maintenance activity.
Training for simple computer operations is necessary for the users working on the
system.
C. Future Enhancement
For the future enhancement of the system, some additional features could be
implemented into the system to make it more flexible and reliable.
The leave management module can be enhanced by making all leave requests pass
through the head of department before submission rather than going straight to the
admin. This feature will make HOD of department to know which of their employees
are gone on a leave. Employee details archiving, since the system is holding
information of all the employees, the system should have an archiving system
interface so that suspended and retired staffs information can be archived rather than
deleting the information completely from the system so that in some cases where
details of an ex-employee is needed for future reference can easily be obtained.
The system can be further developed which can include more functionalities & user-
friendly interfaces.
Future developers can enhance this project by including documents
scanning of employee.
Future developers can enhance this project by including
ability to send the notification Via SMS and E-Mail.
Moreover, it is just a beginning, further the system may be utilized in various
other types of auditing operation via network auditing or similar process
workflow based application.
6.2 RECOMMENDATION
3
The project team wants to recommend some ideas considering the project. This
project is developed based on the current problems of employee management system
of BECOO POWER SUPPLY IN JOWHAR, so we think that this project is the best
solution for the problems raised based on the manual system of the office. And help
the office to save time, money and man power whenever the project is small scale.
Finally, the project teams conclude that the department should give a special
consideration for the computer lab, because during the development of the project the
group members faced some problems based on the lab.
For the furtherance of this project to ensure the robustness of the system and
improve the system to its full potential and greater height, the following
features are recommended for future expansion in order to fill the rift of the
project.
For the effective usage of this system and having a good management of it, it
is advisable to provide computer to the vital centers where staffs can be
trained to understand and acquire knowledge on how to use the computer
and the new system.
• The performance of each employee throughout the working session
may be determined by tabulating their individual leave records into a
pie chart format for HR evaluation activities.
• This system’s compiled data may also be given to various
departments, such as Finance and Accounts, for direct salary
computation.
Furthermore, this project can be implemented in web-application to
look good and user friendly gives a dummy look of the system.
