Narrative Exit Report Format
The Narrative Exit Portfolio is to be presented after the internship and it should reflect
the interns has satisfactorily addressed Northern Luzon Adventist College and School of
Education Standards in a way that they integrate institutional program standards on the intern's
vision on the chosen vocation and how they relate to the world. To do this, there is a need to
articulate the vision, mission, and objectives well, then can be recognized in the teaching
activities. How the intern exemplifies their qualities and characteristics described. The portfolio
will provide a focused opportunity to analyze the practices and impact of practice teaching on
student learning. The intern should also keep all lesson and unit plans, handouts, assessments,
reflections, teacher notes, and observations throughout the semester. Interns will draw on these
materials as they respond to the portfolio requirements below. The portfolio has three sections.
Teaching Philosophy
Teaching philosophy should commence with a statement that articulates the interns
acquired World View that education is redemption. This is a personal statement that shares the
intern's understanding of how lofty the calling of the teaching ministry. The faith and hope for
the world to come to permeate everything a teacher does. This statement becomes the foundation
of the vision for teaching. The hope for the world to come is the predominant idea to value,
vision is how to bring this about through teaching.
In this philosophy, discuss all aspects of the following four dimensions:

What is your understanding of the world?
What is your vision for teaching that reflects your understanding of the world?
As you consider aspects of your vision for teaching, described the following experiences
you have during your practice teaching:
Planning/ Implementation of your lesson plan
Inquiry/ Assessment techniques
Diversity/ Relationships inside your classroom
Reflection on students’ activities
Active classroom engagement you used in the process of your teaching
What other dimensions influence your vision for teaching? (Other dimensions may
include but are not limited to: What is the purpose of education? How does learning
happen? What is important to teach/ learn? What kind of learning environment supports
the intern's world view? etc.)

The second section of the portfolio is a n a r r a t i v e relating the School of Education
Program Goals to their work in the classroom during the internship period. For each Goal,
the narrative should contain the following:
Explain what the Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the school for your internship (in
campus out campus) means and what ways did you embrace its complexity and its role
relative to your vision for teaching.
Select, include, and discuss at least one piece of evidence from your student teaching that
demonstrates the Northern Luzon Adventist College School of Education mission
statement

The third section of the portfolio focuses on the following;
Describe the instructional environment of the school for your internship (In
campus/Out campus comparison).
Describe the physical environment. Include photographs, diagrams, and/ or social maps.
Describe students as a group and as individuals. Identify the content, grade level, and a
number of students. Using pseudonyms describe several diverse students and focus on
their journey with you throughout your internship.
Describe the daily goals of your teaching-learning plan
Describe the challenges of your assessment plan.
Describe your experiences in lesson planning.
Describe your instructional decision-making.
Describe how you select a method or instructional model and analysis if your students are
learning.
Write a reflection and self-evaluation. Reflect on the efforts to create an instructional
environment in which students’ hearts and minds were engaged. How did the intern
intentionally address changing students’ dispositions in your planning? What does the
intern learn about himself/ herself as a teacher? What did the intern learn about children?

Guidelines for Out-Campus Training
1. Practice teacher should exercise due diligence in dealing with students, parents,
cooperating teachers, and school administrators concerning instructions that is not
covered by the Memorandum of Agreement.
2. Practice teacher should notify immediately the cooperating teacher or school
administration and shall likewise inform the internship coordinator for any situation that
may appear to threaten his/ her security and well-being.
3. Practice teacher should notify and inform the school administration if they are staying
inside the campus of any plan to leave the campus after class and inform them of the
place/s they intend to go and for those staying outside the premises of the cooperating
school and should be cautious enough in the event that they intend for night activity but
such is strongly discouraged.
4. Practice teachers should avoid staying late night for recreation and unwinding purposes.
5. Practice teachers should avoid developing close relationship to their students and avoid
social media interactions beyond academic concerns.
6. Practice teachers should uphold the Seventh-day Adventist standards and practices
relative to modesty, temperance and avoid appearances that are inimical to the interest of
the church and the institution as a whole.
7. Practice teachers shall ensure that all instructions relative to the conduct of their training
shall be carried to the utmost level of commendable observations manifesting excellence
and shall ensure that all responsibilities or accountabilities if there are any is complete
and settled prior to the final demonstration.
8. Practice teachers shall commit themselves in upholding the Vision Mission and
Objectives of the cooperating school and shall refrain from making negative comments
on whatever observations they have.
9. Practice teachers shall ensure that all concerns outside the scope of their training shall not
subject to any non-academic discussions.
10. Practice teachers shall maintain level of professionalism in all their dealings.

Teaching. Likewise, we will not hold responsible the cooperating school and cooperating teacher
for any accident of which they are not in control and no knowledge about it.
