WRITING TASK 2: DISADVENTAGE AND ADVENTAGE

Nowadays, more and more students are choosing to study at colleges and
universities in a foreign country. Do the benefits of studying abroad
outweigh the drawbacks?
Bài làm:
In today’s modern society, many students decide to study at colleges and
universities in a foreign country instead of in their own nation. While studying
abroad/ this tendency can have drawbacks to some extent, in my opinion, its
positive aspects are far more significant.
On the one hand, there are some shortcomings when studying abroad. One
of disadvantages of this trend is that some people do not afford to pay for the
tuition, accomodation as these cost are quite expensive. As an example,
according to statistics in 2020, the cost studying abroad in Australia has paid by
VietNamese students about 40.000 - 50.000 USD each year while students learn
in their country only need about 5.000 - 10.000 USD every year. Such a
drawback can be especially detrimental to the poor or people have unstable
income. Another drawback of students choose to pursue their education abroad
is that their habitat is change. Because students must learn a different language,
they struggle to communicate effectively. They sometime misconstrue lessons at
school and they will have difficulty about education. Moreover, they do not able
to handle daily tasks such as shopping, ask for directions, communication with
everybody….
On the other hand, students who opt to study abroad have more benefits.
One advantage of this tendency is that students often apply to prestigious
universities. Students not only have a wider range of job opportunities but also
provide more networking and enhance their resume. Additionally, they have
taught advanced courses by well - trained teachers so students can increase the
quality of education and provide students with valuable insights. They are
responsible for cooking, cleaning and paying bills so they gain useful life skills
such as having essential skills, becoming more organized and being able to
manage life effectively….
In conclusion, while studying abroad may bring certain challenges such as
cultural differences and financial pressure, the benefits it offers in terms of
personal development, academic opportunities, and future career prospects far
outweigh the drawbacks. Therefore, studying in a foreign country is a valuable
experience that many students should consider.
