Module: Present Continuous Tense

- Use it to describe actions happening now, around now, or temporary situations.
- Form positive, negative, and interrogative sentences correctly.

2. Introduction
The Present Continuous Tense (also called Present Progressive) is used when something is
happening right now or is in progress. Think of it like a video recording — we 'capture' actions as
they are happening.

Example: 'I am talking to you right now.'

3. Formula
Subject To be Verb-ing Example
I am I am eating.
You/We/They are You are studying.
He/She/It is She is running.

4. Usage
1. Actions happening now — She is reading a book.
2. Temporary actions — I am staying with a friend for the week.
3. Trends or changes — More people are working from home.
4. Future arrangements — We are meeting them tomorrow.

5. Signal Words
Now, At the moment, Currently, This week/month/year, Right now, Nowadays

6. Examples
Positive: They are playing football.
Negative: He isn’t watching TV.
Question: Are you listening to me?

7. Common Mistakes
■ Forgetting -ing: She is read a book. → ■ She is reading a book.
