The Impact of Pressure on Children

Nowadays, children often experience pressure from their parents, social environment, school,
and even from their own expectations to compete in education. Every child naturally wants to
achieve perfect scores in both assignments and exams. In addition, parents and teachers also
hope that all students can achieve satisfying results, which causes students to feel pressured as
they must try hard and compete to get the best grades.

In school friendships, there are children who may not excel academically, and there are also
those who are very smart in that area. Because of this, they strive with all their might to achieve
what they see as the best possible results. The expectations they place on themselves can lead
to exhaustion, and when those expectations are not met, they may feel like failures. Social
media also contributes to the pressure children face today. When they see posts on social
media, they may feel the need to achieve the same things—especially when they see others in
positions they wish to be in—making them feel as though they *must* reach those goals.

To help children avoid feeling pressured and to make them feel safe, it’s important to teach
them to love themselves, including both their strengths and weaknesses. This way, they will
become more confident in their own abilities. Even if their expectations aren't met, they won't
feel like failures because they’ll understand that perhaps it just isn’t their field. Support from
parents and teachers is also essential for a child's development. Parents should provide
encouragement so that children feel secure and not under pressure from them—teachers
should do the same.

Another important solution is to encourage open communication. Let children express what
they’re feeling. They need to feel safe talking about whatever they’re going through. This will
help them feel relieved and not alone in facing their problems. Parents should respond by truly
listening and supporting whatever the child is doing—as long as it's something positive. With
this, children will feel more confident in showing their abilities without the fear of excessive
pressure or competition.

Talking to children about time management is also very important. They need to balance their
responsibilities and relax while studying to avoid stress. Encourage them to play, get enough
rest, and spend time with family. Schools and homes should work together to create a balanced
routine and a safe environment for children so that they can achieve their academic goals
without feeling stressed or anxious.
