Rem ove Unw anted Files on W indow s Using Disk Cleanup

To begin cleaning yourPC,launch the Disk Cleanup tool.You can do thatby opening the "Start"m enu,

searching for"Disk Cleanup",and selecting the app in the search results.

Disk Cleanup w illprom ptyou to choose the drive to clean.H ere,since m ostofyourtem porary

(unw anted)files are stored on the W indow s installation drive,selectthatdrive.You're free to choose

anotherdrive ifyou w ant.

Then,select"OK."
W aitforthe toolto scan yourdrive and find unw anted files.This can take som e tim e depending on your

drive's size.

Once the scan is finished,you'llsee the file types thatyou can rem ove from yourPC.Click each file type

and you'llsee m ore details aboutit.

N ote thatthe toolm ay recom m end deleting "W indow s ESD Installation Files,"butyou shouldn'tdelete

them .This is because W indow s uses those files to help you resetyourPC.

generated on yoursystem .You can delete them .

 Delivery Optim ization Files:These files are used to upload W indow s Updates to otherPCs.Feel

 Recycle Bin:Choosing this option deletes the files currently sitting in Recycle Bin.

 Tem porary Files:This option deletes yourapps'various tem porary files.Itonly rem oves the files

 Thum bnails:These are the thum bnails ofyourvarious file types.You can delete them and

W hen you've chosen the item s to delete,atthe bottom ofthe Disk Cleanup w indow ,choose "OK."
