Consolidation
Your brother is writing an email to his best friend who is overseas for
the summer. He has asked you for your help. Cross out the mistakes and write
the correct words.
Dear Allen,
Hi! How are you? What’s it like in Australia at the moment? Do you enjoy to be
there? Is the weather there anything like Hong Kongs’ weather?
I have some interesting news. Mine aunt had a baby girl last week. His face is
so cute! Aunt Helen looked so happy too. She couldn’t stop to smile.
I even got to hold the baby myself. At first, I was quite nervous. I kept think I
might drop the baby. My mother told me not to worry though. She asked me to
simply make sure that I supported the babys head. It was quite easy actually.
In that moment, when I was looking into hers eyes, I felt very happy to have a
new cousin.
Hmm, what else is going on? Oh, my sisters teeth are starting to fall out. She
really dislikes go out in public now. She thinks everyone is looking at her.
Ours family is going on holiday soon. We plan to visit Canada for a few weeks.
My father bought a book called ‘Canadas Best Hidden Tourist Attractions’. He
wants to visit them all! He plan is to rent a car but drive us all over Canada.
I can’t wait for this trip or I don’t look forward to the long plane ride. Anyway,
send me some of yours photos from Australia.
