2.0 About the Internship
2.1 Definition of Internship
In line with the Ministry of Public Service, Standing Instruction No. 3 of 2011
on Internship Placement, the term Internship shall be used to refer to field
and practical-based training for student trainees in order to fulfil a

2.3 Expected Benefits from Internship
Student internship will be implemented through a partnership between the
Faculty and other partners who consume the University’s products and
services. This partnership has three key stakeholders—namely: the university
partners, the University itself, and the students. Commitment to this
partnership rests on mutual benefits for all involved. The expected benefits
of the programme for each party include:
2.3.1 University Partners
- a. Will get opportunity to be involved in the training and review of academic
programmes at Gulu University.
- b. Will be exposed to a pool of potential employees from which to select,
ultimately reducing the cost of induction/orientation of new employees.
- c. Will get additional human resources for effective and efficient service
delivery.
2.3.2 Gulu University
- a. Will get opportunity to appreciate clients’ demands and the quality of
graduates required to fulfil these demands.
