Broadcasting in Digital age Revolution on Content Consumption.

Broadcast media basically serve as channels of disseminating and

transmitting information (i.e. messages) to targeted audience. In other
words, they are channels of communication. When talking about broadcast
media, we are referring to radio, television and internet.

The Digital Age—also known as the Information Age or Digital Era—refers to

the current era characterized by the rapid shift from traditional industry to an
economy based on information technology. It began in the late 20 th century
with the rise of computers, the internet, and digital communication
technologies.

Digital Technology:

Use of computers, smartphones, tablets, and other digital devices.

Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and

robotics.
The phrase “Revolution on content consumption” points to the dramatic
shifts in how people access, engage with, and respond to content in the
digital age. Here’s a breakdown of the key elements driving this revolution:

🔄 1. From Passive to Active Consumption

Then: TV, radio, print—audiences consumed what was given to them.

Now: Personalized, interactive, algorithm-driven feeds.

Examples: TikTok’s For You page, Netflix recommendations, Spotify AI DJ.

Traditional media is being challenged by influencers, vloggers, and

independent creators

So how can you make use of this digital age as an aspiring broadcast
journalist.

Firstly you have to start from where you are by discovering yourself, what
can you do….. What’s your inborn talent.
