General Instructions:
● The question paper comprises five sections- A, B, C, D and E. There are 39 questions in the question
paper. All questions are compulsory.
● Internal choice has been provided ⁵in some questions. A student has to attempt only one of the
alternatives in such questions.
● Section A consists of question number 1-20. These are MCQ’s and Assertion Reason question. They
carry one mark each.
● Section B consists of question number 21-26. These are short answer questions which carry two marks
each.
● Section C consists of question number 27-33. These are short answer questions which carry three
marks each.
● Section D consists of question number 34-36. These are long answer questions which carry five marks
each.
● Section E consists of question number 37-39. These are case based answers which carry four marks

expected to answer any four sub-parts in these questions.
37. Sita and her mother reached a jewellery shop to purchase some ornaments. She liked a 4
necklace very much but her mother told her not to purchase it because it is not real gold.
When she checked the information tag, it was written that 1gm gold. The necklace was
quite big and heavy. She was surprised to see it and asked about it. The salesman explained
that it is a gold-plated necklace. Nowadays, people prefer to buy gold-plated jewellery,
similarly, iron articles are often coated with zinc or chromium to protect them from rusting
and corrosion.
