Why exercise is important to physical health?

Exercise refers to physical activity aimed at improving or maintaining physical fitness and

general health. It involves structured or planned movements and activities that challenge and

stretch the body's muscles and cardiovascular system. Exercise can take many forms, including

aerobic activity, strength training, flexibility and balance exercises.

Exercise is important for physical health for several reasons:

Regular exercise helps maintain a healthy weight or promotes weight loss. It burns calories,

increases metabolism and builds muscle, which can lead to a balanced body composition. While,

exercise is typically a beneficial and efficient strategy for promoting weight loss and preserving a

healthy weight, but it should be accompanied with a balanced diet and taken into account in the

context of specific individual demands and circumstances. Before beginning a new workout

program, always speak with a medical professional or certified fitness professional, especially if

you have any particular health issues or objectives.


For example, if a person is taking gym exercise regularly but don’t have any kind of knowledge

about the diet and proteins that should be taken in daily routine to maintain health while gym

then it would be unhealthy and stressful for a person without the help of any coach or mentor. So,

it should be taken in proper way and try to keep knowledge of whole in mind.

Moreover, participating in an exercise routine that includes resistance training or weight-bearing

activities helps build and strengthen muscles. It also improves flexibility and joint mobility,

reduces the risk of injury and improves overall physical performance. On the other it also

diabetes, some types of cancer (such as colon and breast cancer), metabolic syndrome and some

neurological diseases. It also helps manage existing conditions such as arthritis and helps control

blood sugar.

the efficiency of the body in transporting oxygen and nutrients to tissues and organs, promotes

general vitality and reduces fatigue.


Numerous studies have shown that regular exercise is associated with increased lifespan. It

helps in maintaining general health and reduces the risk of premature death due to various

causes. It is important to note that individual exercise needs may vary depending on age, fitness

level and health status. It is always recommended to consult a doctor or qualified trainer before

starting or changing any exercise program.

their needs, promoting safety and proper technique, and emphasizing the holistic health benefits

fitness experts, exercise can become a source of empowerment and improved well-being for all.

More to add contradiction for it , In some cases, exercise may be associated with body image

concerns and social pressures to adhere to certain appearance standards. This pressure can lead to

unhealthy exercise habits and adverse effects with physical activity.

To conclude, from cardiovascular health to strength, flexibility and overall body composition,

exercise offers a wealth of benefits that contribute to a healthier, more resilient body. Strength

training and weight-bearing activities help build and strengthen muscles, reduce injury risk, and
improve physical performance in a variety of daily tasks and exercise activities. Beyond physical

benefits, exercise has a significant impact on mental health by reducing stress, anxiety and

depression, and promoting a positive mood. With overwhelming evidence of the myriad benefits

of exercise on physical health, it is essential for people of all ages and fitness levels to

incorporate regular physical activity into their lives. Although, Exercise is beneficial, but

excessive or compulsive exercise can adversely affect physical and mental health. It is important

to raise awareness of exercise addiction and promote a balanced approach to physical activity.

Encouraging rest days, prioritizing recovery, and encouraging mindfulness during exercise can

help prevent unhealthy exercise behaviours.
