About NIIF
NIIF is India’s largest infrastructure and private equity fund manager, with USD 4.5+ billion in assets under
management. Anchored by the Government of India (GoI), NIIF aims to mobilize capital from international and
domestic institutional investors for large scale investments in the country through its three funds. Investors in
NIIF funds include: sovereign wealth funds like Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and Temasek; global
pension funds like Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), AustralianSuper, CPP Investments, PSP Investments;
development financial institutions like U.S International Development Finance Corporation (USIDFC); multilateral
development banks like Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and New
Development Bank (NDB); and top domestic financial institutions such as State Bank of India, HDFC Group, ICICI
Bank, Kotak Life and Axis Bank.
NIIF’s Private Markets Funds invest into sector focused and multi-sector funds and co-invest alongside its portfolio
fund managers into portfolio companies. NIIF Private Markets Fund-1 has fully invested its capital and NIIF is now
raising a US$1 billion successor fund, NIIF Private Markets Fund-II (‘PMF-II’).
Job Responsibilities
• Market Mapping:
o Meet and evaluate new fund managers and their investment thesis
o Network within the industry and develop understanding of key opportunities and risks for
investment themes identified
o Proactively scanning relevant sectors, including the economic and regulatory environment, for
trends and opportunities
o Conduct concise industry/business analysis, by understanding the key business drivers and size of
the opportunity
o Research, identify and follow potential fund managers from databases, screening various
proposals
o Manage and continuously update internal databases and notes, tracking proprietary intelligence
and insights on the funds that have been met by the team
o Monitoring the financial news and updating the team of material information on target funds,
their peers as well as underlying sectors and companies
o Attend conferences, events and gather market intelligence across intermediaries / companies
o Prepare pre-proposal and proposal input for presentations / investments memos
• Investments:
o Evaluating new fund investment proposals and direct co-investments, including an analysis of
track record / company performance, investment thesis, evaluation of opportunity and
commercial terms as well as their impact on potential returns
o Working with the deal team to identify key risks and potential mitigants and ensuring they are
being addressed during diligence stage

o Support in drafting of internal memos for the investment committee
o Retrieve and analyze various data points from conventional and unconventional sources
o Support in drafting oral and written materials for management and investors
o Working as deal team through entire due diligence efforts and ensuring high quality delivery
within timelines with appropriate guidance from the seniors
o Provide backup data, analysis, industry updates and market intelligence relevant for the thesis
• Post Investment & Exit:
o Obtains regular portfolio updates; analyze actual performance vs. plan, with reasons for variances
o Develops good relationships with the fund management team; gets regular updates on true state
of affairs of the business
o Monitor adherence to fund terms agreed and provide accurate and unbiased view on
performance of portfolio including future performance (surprises, shocks etc.)
o Writing reports regarding the performance of fund for portfolio review
• Strategy & Fundraising:
o Develop presentations and other materials to educate potential investors on the market and fund
strategy
o Support investment team members as and when required for other work-streams like fund
raising, conferences, broader NIIF team objectives
Key Skills
• Experience of investing in / advising investments in India as a part of private equity, investment banking,
corporate finance, or financial audit teams is desirable
• An understanding of corporate finance and strong financial modelling skills are imperative
• Report writing and advanced knowledge of Excel imperative
• Analytical, research, problem solving and valuation skills, including the ability to analyze company reports,
sector data, economics and relevant political events
• Good business communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively
• Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership; eager to learn and work with others
• Impeccable integrity and committed to core values and ethical business conduct in all business practices
• An entrepreneurial, can-do and collaborative mindset; Understanding of cultural differences and possesses

Requirements
• Strong academic background with undergraduate degree from IITs / equivalent qualification, along with post
graduate degree in business / accounting from premier institutes
• 2-3 years' maximum relevant experience, including a track record of evaluating multiple sectors in India
(sector agnostic corporate finance experience, any experience in climate oriented businesses, healthcare,
manufacturing, consumer, technology and financial sectors will be favorable)
