INTRO FOR RESULT AND DISCUSSION
The survey was conducted through an online form. 110 valid responses were collected in total.
A request to participate in the survey was delivered through a messenger and e-mail. Provided that the
respondent willingly agrees to answer it, the form was received through a link or an e-mail. The survey
was designed to use purposive sampling; it includes respondents that have been
involved in consuming coffee for academic purposes.
TABLE 3
This table 3 here, will discuss the evaluation of how likely the respondents, the coffee consumer
experience the following questions regarding on the effect of coffee consumption in the
academic performance of the respondents in terms of concentration skills. For each evaluation,
similar responses are counted and the mean and standard deviation for each response are
calculated. Out of these 5 questions, item number 1 got the highest mean of 3.37 with
corresponding standard deviation of 0.604 which is interpreted as likely. According to RACHEL
BARKLAY, Caffeine is considered a stimulant, and coffee has this naturally. It stimulates the
body’s central nervous system and boosts the brain’s production of a neurochemical known as
dopamine, which controls the ability to focus and maintain concentration. This stimulation can
cause a person to feel energized and not to feel any disturbances. On the other hand, item number
3 got the lowest rated mean of 3.00 with corresponding standard deviation of 0.664 and is
interpreted as likely. Based on the study by ASTRID NEHLIG, coffee does not usually affect
performance in learning complex lessons although caffeine may occasionally have facilitatory or
inhibitory effects on memory and learning.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
I am Farinna Aleyyah Latip, and I will be presenting our research statement of the
problem.
This research is undertaken to perceive the correlation between coffee consumption and academic
performance of STEM students enrolled in Notre Dame University – Senior High School. Specifically,
this study is conducted to seek answers to the following question,

The research will show how the relevant data information was gathered, discussed, and analyzed
to meet the research objectives and questions. Our study uses a descriptive correlational
quantitative research. It was carried out and implemented at Notre Dame University Cotabato to
investigate the correlation between students' coffee consumption and their academic
performance. The respondents we chose are bona fide STEM students of NDU-SHS who
consume coffee for academic purposes. The study utilized a non-probability sampling technique,
specifically purposive sampling. A researcher-made survey questionnaire was created and used
as the main data collection tool for this study. We conducted a pre-survey to determine whether
or not the student drinks coffee, followed by the main survey for the coffee-drinking students. To
be able to assess the results fairly, specific statistical tests were utilized. In the case of this study,
the researchers used the formula for computing the tally using Pearson Product Moment
Correlation Coefficient.
The next slide will be presented by Mahadeya Abdila.
