Professional Practice I, Learning Plan Assignment
Due: Week 11 – 10%
Assignment Guidelines:
Format: The assignment should be organized into two sections:
o Section A: Personal Reflection, written in essay format
o Section B: Self-assessment and learning plan
o The assignment must be completed using Microsoft Word, adhering to APA formatting guidelines. This includes a title
page, double spacing, in-text citations, and a reference page.
Submission: Upload your completed assignment to the Learning Plan Assignment drop box. Please do not include the
assignment guidelines.
Assignment Instructions:
Personal Reflection (4 marks): Reflect on your semester so far and select one evaluation experience in which you were
graded and received feedback on. This may be an assignment, a practical experience or a lab critique. Write a reflection
based on this experience using APA paragraph format. Headings should be used for the reflection steps of: describe,
analyze, evaluate and plan. The reflection should be a maximum of 1-2 pages.
Self-Assessment (4 marks): Using the provided template below, complete a self-assessment. Drawing from your reflection,
identify 3 strengths and 3 areas for improvement. For each, link them to a corresponding practice concept and practice
component.
Learning Needs (2 marks): From the areas for improvement identified in your self-assessment, determine 2 learning needs
and record them in the Learning Plan template.
Learning Plan (8 marks): For each of the 2 learning needs, develop a corresponding learning plan using the approved
format. Each plan must include: 1 learning goal, 3 learning activities with timeframes and 3 evaluation statements that
describe how you would demonstrate achievement of the goal. Note: You cannot use the learning goal of Time
Management.
Scholarly Writing (2 marks): Ensure the assignment is written using scholarly standards, including clear & concise
language, correct grammar and spelling, and accurate referencing.
Grading: Refer to the assignment rubric for further expectations and grading criteria.
