Reflection 1: Describe a meeting you attended and the contribution you made to the meeting
Week written:
This week, I encountered a critical issue with one of our clients whose certificate was expiring by
the end of the week. To avoid any disruption, both parties needed to update their certificates and
validate them in a lower environment first. I had a call with the client and presented the plan to
update the certificate. During the call, I suggested the best solution to resolve the issue most
efficiently without breaking any current connections and with the least impact on the customers
who use the service.
In the follow-up meeting, I updated our certificate using the required tools and requested the same
from the client in a lower environment. I tested and verified the changes and planned the time to
deploy them in the production environment. On Friday, we processed the same in production and
verified the result. Thanks to the correct plan, the certificate change didn’t cause any issues, and
the client expressed their satisfaction with the outcome.
From this experience, I gained knowledge about certificates and improved my communication
skills. This is also a benefit for me, which I can include in my resume as a good IT solution case.

multifaceted approach, utilizing various resources and platforms.
Firstly, I regularly engage with industry-specific publications and websites like Finextra, The
Fintech Times, and American Banker. These sources offer valuable insights into the latest
innovations, regulatory updates, and market trends within the fintech landscape. Additionally, I rely
on reports and whitepapers published by reputable research firms such as Deloitte, PwC, and
McKinsey, which provide in-depth analysis and forecasts on pertinent industry topics.
Furthermore, attending industry conferences, webinars, and networking events is essential for
gaining firsthand knowledge, exchanging ideas, and staying connected with industry
professionals. These events serve as valuable forums for learning about emerging trends, best
practices, and innovative solutions in the fintech space.

Reflection 5: Identify and summarize a journal article that you read online and how it applies
to your job. Be sure to give an APA-compliant citation for the journal article.
Week written:
This week I have read some articles about the difference between personal data and sensitive
data. In the digital age, people have access to a large scope of information that travels across
networks. Technology plays an increasingly large role in their personal and professional lives,
becoming an inevitable constituent of daily routine as it is possible to perform various activities
without leaving home. Consequently, people are generating more personal and sensitive data
online than ever before (Quinn & Malgieri, 2021). Personal information helps identify an individual
while sensitive data requires specific protection due to the impact of its disclosure. Understanding
the difference between persona and information enables to comprehend its protection approaches
and obligations under US privacy laws.
Sometimes personal and sensitive data coincide making it difficult to differentiate between
them. Personal data is referred to as a valuable asset that becomes a target for many criminals
with malicious intentions (Li & Saxunova, 2020). It includes any information that helps identify a
person such as full name, home address, email address, phone number, age, and gender (Quinn
& Malgieri, 2021). There is a lot of personal information available online as people provide it when
they download applications or create a profile on a social networking website. People share their
personal data for many reasons such as online shopping, banking transactions, or getting access
to necessary sources.
Contrary to personal data, sensitive information is associated with greater mishandling and
potential harm. Sensitive data is a type of personal data that may lead to discrimination or
harassment (Li & Saxunova, 2020). It includes personal beliefs, background, political affiliation,
religious beliefs, genetic and biometric data, sexual orientation, criminal records, medical history,
and financial data (Quinn & Malgieri, 2021). Sensitive information requires stricter protection
compared to personal data due to its vulnerable nature as it is often maliciously used by hackers
or criminals for their personal or financial gains. Therefore, such sensitive data misuse may have
severe consequences.
In many countries around the globe, including the US, there is a set of regulations and laws
which help protect personal and sensitive data. They include the Privacy Act of 1974, the Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the California
Consumer Privacy Act, and others (Murray, 2023). They are developed to protect different types
of data and under different circumstances. Although laws protect personal data as a whole, an
increased emphasis is made on sensitive data as it may impact the quality of life, livelihood, the
ability to engage in daily activities, and other issues that affect an individual’s life and have life-
long consequences.
In conclusion, to ensure the protection and proper use of personal and sensitive data in the
technology-driven world, it is vital to comprehend the difference between them. While personal
information provides a broader understanding of the person’s identity, sensitive data reveals
potentially dangerous data that may be mishandled with severe consequences. Therefore, it is
vital to protect personal and sensitive data and the US has special laws that address this issue.

Reflection 6: What was negative about this week and how might you change it?
Week written:
Week 6: from: 22-APR-2024 to: 26-APR-2024
This week, despite our overall success in managing client data and facilitating collaborative
sessions, we encountered a significant challenge in the form of a DDoS attack targeting one of
our clients. This incident caused disruption and required immediate attention and resources to
resolve. In hindsight, while we effectively mitigated the attack and minimized its impact, there
are several aspects we could improve upon to better handle similar situations in the future.
Firstly, we could enhance our proactive monitoring and threat detection capabilities to identify
potential security threats sooner. Investing in advanced threat detection tools and
implementing real-time monitoring systems can help us detect abnormal traffic patterns and
potential threats more effectively.
Secondly, we should consider strengthening our incident response procedures and protocols to
ensure a swift and coordinated response in the event of a security breach. This includes
