She wrote a letter to her best friend in
Tunisia. Read the letter and answer the questions below.
Dear friend,
Hi! How are you? I hope you are fine. In your last letter you told me that you were busy revising for your final
exams. I am sure you did well. I hope you will get excellent marks. Now I am in London. I have been there for
three days now. I am really having a good time. London is a fascinating place and the English people are nice,
well-mannered and helpful. Everything is wonderful and different: the telephone booths, the taxi cabs and the
double-deckers. In the first day my friend Jane took me to Trafalgar square. I took picture of the Nelson
Column. Around it there are four bronze lions. They are big and impressive. In the afternoon Jane invited me to
her home. I met her family. They are very nice and hospitable. Then I went shopping. I bought souvenirs for my
friends and family. I also visited Buckingham palace where the queen of England lives. It is really spectacular.
There are soldiers protecting the palace. They are called the royal guards. Yesterday Jane took me to London
tower. It is old and big. Tomorrow will be a big day. I will visit Westminster and the Tower Bridge. We will then
have lunch in Hyde Park which is one of the most beautiful parks in London. I hope one day we will have a trip
to London together. You will not regret it.I will be back to Tunis after 3 days. I miss you so much and I miss my
family.
See you soon.
Yours Meriam
