Unit 1 - Your Preferences

Negatives - New Target Language!


Ex. 1 - Add one of the following to the phrases below to make it negative:
- Don’t
- Not

1. I’m interested in
2. I’m into
3. I like
4. I’m a fan of …

Obviously “I don’t mind” and “I can’t stand” are already negative. They have no positive
form. Add the negative versions to your organiser where it says Negative.

Ex. 2 - Look at the symbol (+) or (-) next to each sentence and answer using the new
vocabulary.
For example:
● Watching movies at the cinema (+)
→ I’m into watching movies at the cinema.
● Reading about politics (-)
→ I’m not interested in reading about politics.

Remember to use the appropriate phrases for each subject. Use your organiser to help
you:

Listening to audio books (-)

Swimming (+)

Learning about ancient history (+)

Studying grammar (-)

Going to the gym (-)

Comedy movies (+)

Cooking at home (-)

Cold weather (+)
