B. Although the survey is not a scientific instrument, it does allow you to assess your own behaviors as they relate
to general health and wellness. At the bottom of the Health Assessment survey, you will find an interpretation of
what each of your category scores means. In your own words, describe how accurately you feel your category
scores reflect your overall wellness status. Type your number of words at the end of your answer. (MINIMUM of
100 words)
I feel as though my scores for each section accurately represents me as a person except for the personal health
scale. Although I am not always self aware of everything I am doing, I know that I am not putting myself at risk. I
can eat healthier and be more aware of getting the right amount of food daily but I know that I am not putting
myself at harm with the amount I am eating or how little of other things I eat. I do agree with my intellectual
health being on the higher end because I am very cautious of every decision I make and how it can affect me now
and in the long run. I know what I do in life determines how well I do and how I set myself up in the end so I know
I need to be aware of what I am doing. So I agree with the higher score because I follow rules and guidelines and
always strive to do my best and be the best version of myself that I can be. Next, my emotional health, it was about
average and I feel as though that is also accurate. I do struggle at times myself but I am always wiling to help
others and be a listening friend. I will give all the advice I can to someone else. I am not a very open person with
my own emotions but when it comes to others feelings and them going through a hard time, I am always there for
them. The Social Health, I also felt was accurate being on the higher end because I am a very social person and like
to think I am genuinely a nice person. I am always open to meeting people and making new friends. Next, Spiritual
Health, I am very aware that this life is a huge gift and to get to be here is amazing. Some people have their
chances taken away way too early in life and that is very sad. So I feel my higher number is accurate because I
know how precious life is and how unexpected things can happen so I need to be thankful for each and every day.
Lastly, the environmental health being lower I feel is also accurate. I am not a very nature person when I should
be. I need to work on it and be more thankful for the world we live in. (411 words)
C. After reviewing all of your scores, identify and briefly discuss three categories of wellness that you might work
toward improving this semester. Type your number of words at the end of your answer. (MINIMUM of 100 words)
After seeing all of my scores the three categories that I am going to work toward improving within the
next semester is my environmental health, my physical health, and my emotional health. Although not all
of these categories had low numbers for me, I know I can improve in all of them. For my environmental
health I need to be more aware of how amazing the world is around me and take a second to stop and
admire it. This was made to keep us going and I need to appreciate that because it is a blessing.
Everything around us keeps us alive and has a purpose. Next, my physical health can improve by me
eating healthier and ensuring I get the right amount of nutrition each night. I need to focus on that and
make sure I am more aware of it in order to live a healthier life in general. That is very important in this
life in order to keep going and live the best life possible so therefore I need to improve. Lastly I am going
to strive to improve my emotional health. I tend to put everyone else needs above my own and I need to
be more aware that when I am going through things I need to take care of myself first before I try and
help someone else. Yes others emotions matter and I should care about them but I also need to be more
self aware. (245 words)
