11. A piece of wire 22 cm long is bent into the form of an arc of a circle subtending an
angle of 60° at its centre. Find the radius of the circle.
12. In the given figure, three sectors of a circle of radius 7 cm, making angles of 60°, 80°
and 40° at the centre are shaded. Find the area of the shaded region.

13. A chord PQ of a circle of radius 10 cm subtends an angle of 60° at the centre of


circle. Find the area of major and minor segments of the circle.
14. A horse, a cow and a goat are tied, each by ropes of length 14m, at the corners A, B
and C respectively, of a grassy triangular field ABC with sides of lengths 35m, 40m
and 50 m. Find the area of grass field that can be grazed by them.
15. Find the area of the segment of a circle of radius 14 cm, if the length of the
corresponding arc APB is 22 cm.
16. PSR, RTQ and PAQ are three semicircles of diameters 10 cm, 3 cm and 7 cm
respectively. Find the perimeter of the shaded region [Use π=3.14]

17. A semicircle MON is inscribed in another semicircle. Radius OL of the larger


semicircle is 6 cm. Find the area of the shaded segment in terms of π.

18. If the points P(7,3), Q(9,4), R(8,k) and S(6,1) taken in order, are the vertices of the
rectangle, then find the value of k.
19. The x-coordinate of a point P is twice its y- coordinate. If P is equidistant from
Q(2,−5) and R(−3,6), then find the coordinates of P.
20. If A (4,3), B (−1, 𝑦) and C (3,4) are the vertices of a right triangle 𝐴𝐵𝐶, right-angled
at A, then find the value of 𝑦.
21. Find the ratio in which the segment joining the points (1,−3) and (4,5) is divided by
𝑥-axis? Also find the coordinates of this point on 𝑥-axis.

25. Two taps running together can fill a cistern in 2 11 minutes. If one tap takes 1 minute
more than the other to fill the cistern, find the time in which each tap separately can
fill the cistern.
26. ₹ 9000 were divided equally among a certain number of persons. Had there been 20
more persons, each would have got ₹ 160 less. Find the original number of persons.
27. Prove that 2−5√3 is an irrational number.
28. Prove √7 is irrational.
29. State true or false for each of the following statements and justify in each case:
A. 2 × 3 × 5 × 7 + 7 is a composite number.
B. 2 × 3 × 5 × 7 + 1 is a composite number.
30. Let p, q and r be three distinct prime numbers. Check whether p . q . r + q is a
composite number or not.
Further, give an example for 3 distinct primes p, q, r such that
A. p . q . r + 1 is a composite number.
B. p . q . r + 1 is a prime number.
31. Show that 45n can not end with the digit 0, n being a natural number. Write the prime
number ‘a’ which on multiplying with 45n makes the product end with the digit 0.
32. A sweetseller has 420 kaju burfis and 150 badam burfis. He wants to stack them in
such a way that each stack has the same number, and they take up the least area of the
tray. How many of these can be placed in each stack? How many stacks are formed?
33. Write a quadratic polynomial, sum of whose zeroes is 2√3 and product is 5.

43. The diagonal of a rectangular field is 60 metres more than the shorter side. If the
longer side is 30 metres more than the shorter side, find the sides of the field.
44. Draw the graph of the following equations:

Find the solution of the equations from the graph and shade the triangular region
