hi,

I wonder if the people at google would consider combining the talkback

screen reader with Chromevox, so we would have a screen reader that is
consistent across both platforms, and then no matter what you are
using, we
could use google docs, sheets, and slides? Because chromevox can read
style
and font changes and it can do stuff that talkBack can't, and talkback
can
do some stuff that chromeVox can't do. So why not just combine the two
of

them?

I second this, there have been multiple crashes and not having the
Skip add=

Hey google dev team,

For the last month or so, I have noticed that the YouTube app crashes
rando=
mly during video playback, during reading comments and when submitting
comm=
ents, the submitted comment disappears without being posted. This
isn=E2=80=
=99t the only issue with the app, but it is a major one and even
affects ho=
w us blind users can use the app. I have submitted many (and multiple)
repo=
rts via the internal feedback mechanism without any response
whatsoever, an=
d even experienced a crash while attempting to submit a report.

Another issue inside the app, the magical, musical moving skip ad
button. T=
here is no consistent placement, which makes it very difficult to get
to (a=
nd the increase in numbers of ads during playback is becoming a major
annoy=
ance). I simply cannot justify paying out $20 a month for =E2=80=9Cad
free =
service=E2=80=9D with all this other nonsense going on. The musical
chairs =
routine with the skip ad button makes this complaint a definite
accessibili=
ty issue and with the crashes, makes the app almost unusable. Would
you ple=
ase do us all a favor and correct whatever bugs are causing this?

Thank you,

Eric Oyen

When running the iOS Youtube TV app with Voiceover, the app crashes
when I =
go to the live tab and start one-finger flicking through channels. It
won't=
happen right away--it'll take about 4 or 5, but the crashing is
consistent=
.

This started in Youtube TV version 9.11, was seemingly fixed in

version 9.1=
2 and then re-appeared in 9.13.

I've submitted 2 different cases through mainstream support via the

in-app =
"contact support" system. Agents handling my most recent ticket
claimed tha=
t teams had looked into it and could not find a specific cause, but I
doubt=
the issue is getting where it needs to go.

Are accessibility and/or dev teams aware and investigating?

Are there any end-users on this list experiencing this issue?

Greetings,

=20

Issue: YouTube app on my iPhone 12, running iOS 18.4. I'm having
trouble
navigating the Notifications screen using heading navigation with
VoiceOver=
.

=20

Although there are clear headings on this screen (Notifications,

Important,
and Today), I'm unable to navigate to them using VoiceOver. I've
recorded a
video demonstrating this behavior
<https://youtu.be/lX-YTyiAq-w?si=3D6iwrxMU_D6OGaSSV> , which was
initially
observed on an older iOS version but still persists on the current
version
(iOS 18.4).

=20

I'd appreciate it if you could investigate this issue and provide a

solutio=

n
or workaround to enable proper heading navigation with VoiceOver on
the
Notifications screen.

=20

Thank you for your time and assistance.

hi,

I think if talkback and chromevox were combined, we would have a great

screen reader. That is because chromeVox has all the keyboard commands
and
can even read math and font and style changes, and talkback is good
for
everything else. What do you all think? Could talkback and chromeVox
somehow be combined? Could chromeVox work on android phones so we
could use
google docs, sheets and slides on android phones?

Josh

I wonder if the people at google would consider combining the

Hey google dev team,

For the last month or so, I have noticed that the YouTube app crashes
rando=
mly during video playback, during reading comments and when submitting
comm=
ents, the submitted comment disappears without being posted. This
isn=E2=80=
=99t the only issue with the app, but it is a major one and even
affects ho=
w us blind users can use the app. I have submitted many (and multiple)
repo=
rts via the internal feedback mechanism without any response
whatsoever, an=
d even experienced a crash while attempting to submit a report.

Another issue inside the app, the magical, musical moving skip ad
button. T=
here is no consistent placement, which makes it very difficult to get
to (a=

ance). I simply cannot justify paying out $20 a month for =E2=80=9Cad

When running the iOS Youtube TV app with Voiceover, the app
crashes w=

won't happen right away--it'll take about 4 or 5, but the
crashing=
is consistent.
This started in Youtube TV version 9.11, was seemingly fixed in
version 9.1=

I've submitted 2 different cases through mainstream support via
the in-=

Are there any end-users on this list experiencing this issue?
Issue: YouTube app on my iPhone 12, running iOS 18.4. I'm having

Although there are clear headings on this screen (Notifications,

Subject: Google Book and new European Accessibility Act

Hello there!

I would like to know if you have an idea on how Google Book will deal
with =
the new regulation in Europe on Accessibility - for ebooks for
instance, it=
requests a lot of new meta-data to access the accessibility of
ebooks.
<a href=3D"https://internationalpublishers.org/the-european-
accessibility-a=
ct-for-non-eu-members">https://internationalpublishers.org/the-
european-acc=
essibility-act-for-non-eu-members

Is there a documentation somewhere on how Google will show those
accessibil=
ity criteria to the end users?

Thanks!
hi,

I wonder if the people at google would consider combining the talkback

screen reader with Chromevox, so we would have a screen reader that is
consistent across both platforms, and then no matter what you are
using, we
could use google docs, sheets, and slides? Because chromevox can read
style

mbox pkp copy 5/13/25, 9:45 PM

and font changes and it can do stuff that talkBack can't, and talkback
can
do some stuff that chromeVox can't do. So why not just combine the two
of
them?

Josh

I second this, there have been multiple crashes and not having the
Skip add=

Subject: Random and multiple crashes of YouTube app on iOS

Hey google dev team,

For the last month or so, I have noticed that the YouTube app crashes
rando=
mly during video playback, during reading comments and when submitting
comm=
ents, the submitted comment disappears without being posted. This
isn=E2=80=

This video demonstrates a strange issue where I'm unable to comment on

some
videos in the YouTube app, despite commenting being enabled. This
issue
occurs randomly, regardless of whether I've subscribed to the channel

not.

hi,

I think if talkback and chromevox were combined, we would have a great

screen reader. That is because chromeVox has all the keyboard commands
and
can even read math and font and style changes, and talkback is good
for
everything else. What do you all think? Could talkback and chromeVox
somehow be combined? Could chromeVox work on android phones so we
could use

Hello there!
=20
I would like to know if you have an idea on how Google Book will deal
with =
the new regulation in Europe on Accessibility - for ebooks for
instance, it=
requests a lot of new meta-data to access the accessibility of
ebooks.=20

=20
Is there a documentation somewhere on how Google will show those

hi,

I wonder if the people at google would consider combining the
talkback<br /=

screen reader with Chromevox, so we would have a screen reader that
is<br /=

consistent across both platforms, and then no matter what you are
using, we=
could use google docs, sheets, and slides? Because chromevox can read
style=
and font changes and it can do stuff that talkBack can't, and
talkback =
can
do some stuff that chromeVox can't do. So why not just combine the

of
them?
Hey google dev team,

For the last month or so, I have noticed that the YouTube app crashes
rando=

comm=
ents, the submitted comment disappears without being posted. This
isn=E2=80=

affects ho=
w us blind users can use the app. I have submitted many (and multiple)
repo=
rts via the internal feedback mechanism without any response
whatsoever, an=
d even experienced a crash while attempting to submit a report.
Another issue inside the app, the magical, musical moving skip ad
button. T=

When running the iOS Youtube TV app with Voiceover, the app
crashes w=
hen I go to the live tab and start one-finger flicking through
channels. It=
won't happen right away--it'll take about 4 or 5, but the
crashing=
is consistent.

This started in Youtube TV version 9.11, was seemingly fixed in
version 9.1=
2 and then re-appeared in 9.13.

I've submitted 2 different cases through mainstream support via
the in-=
app "contact support" system. Agents handling my most recent
tick=

caus=

Are accessibility and/or dev teams aware and investigating?

Are there any end-users on this list experiencing this issue?
hi,

I think if talkback and chromevox were combined, we would have a
great
screen reader. That is because chromeVox has all the keyboard commands
and<=
br />
can even read math and font and style changes, and talkback is good
for
everything else. What do you all think? Could talkback and
chromeVox
somehow be combined? Could chromeVox work on android phones so we
could use=
google docs, sheets and slides on android phones?
