community?

The psychologist in the community will play an important role and it is to be able to know how to reach

people to Society contributing to well-being, to Coexistence, being able to educate to have

better behavior in Society, with professionalism, love, and respect to seek the

interrelation among individuals to improve the relationship between different social groups.

Also find the most vulnerable community to be a support in their lives

everyday and be able to look after their emotional states.

According to the learning outcomes of this course, what expectations do you have?

in the face of its development?

My expectations with this course are to gain the most knowledge about the

social psychology, in learning 1, to be able to know the entire evolution of the history of the

social psychology since it is very important to understand the principle in order to apply it

current events.

In learning 2, my expectations are to be able to understand and manage the 3 approaches of

social psychology in order to have that knowledge of the evolution of psychology

social to work in a community.

Social Psychology

Social psychology is a field of great importance in our lives, as it deals with

of social relationships, how they influence our way of thinking and acting.

According to Allport (1968) cited in Marín, M & Martínez, R (2015), it states that "The

social psychology tends to understand and explain how thoughts, feelings and

the behaviors of human beings are influenced by another real, imaginary or implicit

(p.22).

For this reason, we behave differently depending on who we are with.

sharing, friends, parents, teachers, bosses, and others, there are different types of

relationships and different norms and principles for each place, this is what studies the

social psychology.

Marin, M & Martínez, R (2015). States that:

The construction of theory is fundamental in social psychology. A theory makes sense

because it provides:

Knowledge of the field of its problems, principles, and objective of study,

Practical value, which expands understanding of life experiences

personal and social,

Understanding the purposes that help to comprehend the motives, interests and

final objectives pursued in any investigation (p.23).


According to Frey, Botan, Friedman, and Kreps (1992). Cited in Marín, M & Martínez, R

(2015). The functions that theories can have are:

Motivating: it organizes our knowledge and initiates the research.

Explanatory: It allows for the classification and clarification of the studied facts.

Predictor: Theory precedes what is going to happen

Controller: predicts the events that it believes it can control

Heuristic: It drives the generation or production of new research on reality

Inspirational: it serves to suggest ideas, awaken the researcher's imagination, and propose

various ways to approach the psychosocial reality.

Social psychology studies human relationships, the norms and principles that

they must establish for a healthy coexistence, where respect, love, the

friendship, honesty, and solidarity towards other people.
